ok so my corrado is kinda pissing me off now. I just posted yesterday saying that it was all fine. I went up a hill this morning to college and my car got really hot really quick, of course it was because I was gassing it. however it doesnt do this normally. After I went up the hill I drove flat for about 500 feet and the water cooled back down to 160. I have replaced the expansion tank, the lid, the radiator, the thermostat, the oil cooler, temp senders, the headgasket, the heater core, the head flanges. the only thing I havent replaced in the colling system is the water pump and the fan, I know the fan works cause its on. the water pump, How do I test it and how do I get the the thing off. I have a G60, the engine pulley looks like it needs to come off to get the water pump off. I have a bentley but its not helpful. thanks guys but its been 8 months since my car functioned correctly, I need this car to work. I am replacing O2 sensor this weekend, car is backfiring could this be why heat is a problem?

ok I keep telling myself that this car cant get any wierder but thats just funky. ok I will go out and buy the correct one.
-
by the way does anyone have part number 191 145 755, I am in the states and am looking for one, I want to do my own front mount IC. Sorry sleek G60. whoever has one PM me
-
you need one of these http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 95426&rd=1

you mean the one from a rallye golf G60? the one that costs way too much to buy from VW. make it yourself, you will have one hell of a time mounting it to the charger though because anything has to have a bolt going through it. my suggestion get an RSR outlet and then get a bent hose from samco or a bent metal tubing, 3"

look at my avartar, it says it all like I said before.

hell yes we are crazy

So does anyone know if the Fram oil filters are just crappy and which one to buy? cant find bosch
-
I replaced the filter last night and turned the car over, no alarm. this morning I took the car over the hill to college and once I got out of my driveway I get this DAMN RINGING, beep beep. well I turn up the stereo and hope for the best. my friend is with me so I decide to just gun it up the hill for the hell of it. got it to about 70 and then let off the gas where my turn was. the beeping from hell stopped. been mashing it all day now and now the beeping is gone. probably clogged filter. I dunno. my car did overheat a little up the hill. got home put some coolant in it (first time in 6 months). car's water temp hasnt moved from 169 even after flooring it for a while. so all is good and well, thanks guys.

... welll haynes compared to bentley sucks. BUY A BENTLEY MANUAL.

it is on constantly, I have oil in the system, it only started after I tightened the oil filter uber amounts, car runs fine. I am going to loosen the oil filter today and probably put on a new one, will post results, G60's only have 2 sensors right?
-
well I have 2 one on the side of the head, one on the oil cooler bracket. If there is another that I dont know about tell me, I will replace. I have a G60, I replaced the headgasket about 3000 miles ago.

I replaced the senders in my corrado about 4 months ago because I thought that was the original problem. I have also replaced the oil cooler with a radiator style from eurosport, the connections are tight. I did just tighten my oil filter pretty darn tight the other day and ever since I have been experiencing the unpleasant beep beep beep beep of the alarm. does anyone know if that would cause my oil pressure to escape? I need help with this one guys, cant figure it out.

being on the subject of pinking my corrado idles at 750ish and trembles greatly when down there. but its not continuous tremble its like a wave, goes then comes every 2 seconds. is my knock sensor smoked? if I keep the revs a little higher its not as predominant. but there is no clunking, like a thrown rod. just jittery
-
if you have eurosport intercooler pipes it also gives that woosh sound, you could also have a pulley that is causing the stock computer controlled BOV to come into effect, kinda squeeks.
-
yes there is an easy fix, take a set of pliers with you wherever you go and some water. take the cap off the system, squeeze the top radiator hose rapidly like a plunger and the air in the system will normally evacuate to the expansion chamber. I find the squeezing harder and holding works well too. thats how I do it.

wow ok I think we are all talking a different language in terms of MPG. I thought uk was in km too. anyway I am in US I get about 16 MPG, due to the way that I drive my corrado, and the fact that my O2 sensor is fried beyond belief. I get a new one tomorrow, Had to order the illegal california one, how many mpg should I be getting once I change it. MFA says 25 right now but I know that its messed up. The only thing that bothers me is that I get 33 MPG on the freeway. anyone?
-
yeah its an air lock my 90 did the same thing, temp was up at 110. blew the heater core because of the pressure build up though the heater was on. fix it quick.

when you advance the timing all you are doing ir changing the powerband, when you advance your power band drops to lower RPM's, when you retard your power is all in the top end. just some basics
-
no the neuspeed one is the stock one modified, just like the dieselgeek one. the B&M is about 4 times stronger if you like shifting hard, even though its not good for the corrado. also the B&M has a lifetime warranty and works sooo much better than stock. I have seen one on a passat and felt the shift difference its like night and day. I am buying one in a week. it just feels more solid.
-
Just FYI B&M Short shift kit works for all corrados. Item number 45106. It is a cable shifter for the new VW's with cable shift tranny's
-
what kind of Mpg are you getting? I need to know cause I have backfire up the "tailpipe"

:( help have some problems dudes (im back again) :( 2006!

ok the whole loss of power randomly, then fixing it with turning the engine off and on is either a bad fuel pressure regulator, bad injector seals, blocked fuel line, or you have a vaccum leak, if your 16V is stock I feel bad for you because you have many vacuum lines. IF I were you I would be asking my friend how much he wants for the G60 engine, loom, bracket, alt, ecu, yadda yadda. ure tranny will do fine but G60's have slightly better gearing than 16V and VRs. before you spend anymore money on the car, spend the 70-130 dollars to get a bentley manual, it tells you how do to it yourself.
