I was told you can’t get the blue banner at the top only green banner or without.

I haven’t fitted that one myself, but would have thought you are correct to locate the tab as described, I would have thought if it were tight you wouldn’t get any rubbing as there shouldn’t be any movement at that point it’s in between the two mounting surfaces that the movement should occur.

Probably easiest and quickest to have a crap one recovered

it’s these bits that are the problem they sit on the roof and the thing won’t sit right as it’s too high. I think I may try grinding them off and have another go next weekend
-
Has anybody else tried one of these. It seems to have sticky out bits that stop it sitting flush with the roof.

Pm Keyo he has your power and says his cars better with them fitted, but I can’t remember which ones he has and which ones one Vince doesn’t rate. it just says vt mount and a price on my invoice.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the best result. The front screen wants doing again, but not now I’m going to carry on putting it together have a summer and get it sorted in the winter. The rest of the glass looks ace. I just want my car back now. Tried fitting the dab arial I got off eBay it doesn’t. It wants to sit too high, I may have to dremel something. I did get my rain tray in and washer jets mounted in it so they spray from under the bonnet. More time also went on some unhealthy looking wiring attached to the headlight switch loom which plugs in the fuse box next to the wiper motor loom, guess how I know that. But finally I think I’m ready to put the new bloody carpet in which probably won’t fit and drive me to distraction as much as the rest of it.

I’ve got vt front and back and a golf diesel gearbox mount. I think they are the race version Vince fitted though as I think he said the fast road weren’t up to much. Keyo may confirm as I think he had the same mounts but more recently

Try a bit of silicone grease, if not then replace the ring on the steering wheel or the bit it comes into contact with.

Had the glass put in yesterday. It appears I had good reason to be worried about the front screen going in. Didn’t really look at it when they’d done as it was covered in tape and I needed a break from the ordeal. So just getting my self mentally ready to go and take the tape off and have a good look at the final results.

Looks epic

Don’t bother with the chromed aluminium radiator top hose connector either, the chrome comes off the inside of it and floats about in your water system.

Excellent progress and brilliant write up. 👍

Definitely need to report it especially if a video clip was captured, bet yours is one of a few in the area that night it’s easy money as you say takes seconds no morals and the punishment is next to nothing if caught compared to the hours and money spent on the incident by the victims night after night.

Well done that man

I’m sure fla had a fix for this

Which one is broken chap

This ^^^^^ why can’t you replace or fix it with a second hand one I did for my drivers one 3 years ago. Easy as and works great

Congratulations 👏.

The bracket in the picture above is to support the VR6 radiator at an angle to the slam panel. As you can also see in the photo the basic rad support comes with loads of holes for different rads with the exception of the VR6 which needs the extra bracket welding on which I did to the one in the photo. Hope this helps

Cheers Hasan, Yes it does fit well. off eBay T4 I think

Unexpectedly total success. First time the ABS light is working properly in my ownership and it’s the first time I’ve seen the fuse box back in position since I bought the car
-
Finally got some mojo and put my front end together and I had a look at my wiring issues which involved messing with the rats nest, the ABS plugs and

Last year I bought 2 brand new TRW mk4 rear callipers for £180 delivered and the stainless lines for £42 fitted in minutes. Bleeding on the other hand was a pain

There is only Vince I know of still mapping his own chips for the oem ecu in the UK. All others I spoke to would run a stand alone for tuning. I have his chip in my OBD2 I would imagine he would be able to copy an existing map for the cams onto a chip but the altered compression may throw that off. Give him a call or send him an email
