Congrats on the pass mate! My tester is like that too. The MOT charge is only £25 and I'm sure they get the hump knowing they won't be getting any extras for sorting "problems". It funny though, this was the first time the guy actually engaged with me, so I think he's come to the realisation that I won't go away. They are anal as they come, but at the end of the day they are very thorough, which is a good thing I suppose.

I'm sure you'll learn plenty on Sunday mate. Its all about getting stuck in and not worrying. Its just nuts and bolts at the end of the day, and there are plenty of guides all over the tinterwebs if you get stuck. The plus is that you have the Lude to fall back on, so don't be afraid to get your hands dirty and have a play with the Corrado!

Just looked at the receipt for the work Wayne. Damn I'm glad I can do most work myself! The only thing I couldn't have done is wheel alignment, and the parts listed would have come in at around £250 I reckon.

Blown bulb?

Wayne I've just bought a set of wiper arm cover caps from Heritage pretty cheaply. The ones on the aqua were missing and mine are faded, so swapped them over. Part number 1J0-955-205A. £1.71 each.

As I said, sell the Prelude, and get a small house with a garage. If you still can't, sell one of the boys! You know, your least favourite one................................... :ignore:

Glad she's running well Wayne, heres to a bit of happy motoring for you! :thumbleft: Edit: Fingers crossed the gear oil replacement makes a good bit of difference. Bit of advice, the syncro meshes are notoriously poor, so make sure your at, or very nearly at a complete stand still before engaging first.

Should be ok to view now Rog. First time I've posted anything on there so don't know what I'm doing!

Not strictly Hampshire, but not far mate. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCEQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.johnmitchellracing.co.uk%2F&ei=Ku4CVeHKIqLP7gbs7YCwDw&usg=AFQjCNF9-I0j-e_ynuR6y-6hdc4aTZc1cA&sig2=aJVfiVDRyDh44yaUm8Tlxg&bvm=bv.88198703,d.ZGU

Went in this morning to have a little go at it. I'm near the point of having spent what it's worth, so wanted to see if I could sort it without having to buy a replacement compensator. A load of WD40, a rubber mallet, and a full bleed through again has certainly improved it, although it's still not perfect to be honest. Needs a good test drive to get it going again I hope. Wheels are all on the correct corner and done up tightly now though! Lol.

While I was writing, congrats mate that's a great price!

I'm with marker study through Adrian Flux. I'm 32, 3 points, no fault accident in 2012, average postcode I think, 4k limited, all mods declared, all extras except key and breakdown, and paid £198 although it's it expires end of next month. When I called I was originally quoted around £225. I told them thanks and I was just going to phone a couple more companies (although I'd already called most and be best I had before that was £275), but the guy said what can we do to get you to commit now? I said if you get below £200 I would. I thought I was pushing my luck tbh, but he went away, came back a few minutes later and did it for £198. I was pretty chuffed with that so accepted.

It was very nerve wracking Rob, glad to see she's still got it though! Dave, James, thanks for the sympathetic response. I can always count on you guys for that.

See, aside from engine work which if I were a prospective buyer I'd like to know what wad actually done, I think that's hit it's highest mark. Maybe I'm wrong and prices really have increased, but I don't think it's much of a bargain at all.

Been a while since I updated, though not a great deal to report. I've just been enjoying driving it since it has been back on the road after paint, and I've now got a couple of paint chips to show for it. I've still not fitted the Bilsteins, although hoping to in the next week or 2. I've got all parts ready to fit them, new top mounts front and rear, front spring top plates, rear bump stops etc etc. I've developed a little problem where it occasionally fails to turn over at the turn of the key. It seems like the starter motor is sticking as you can hear it clunk a little, but I've bought a replacement ignition switch anyway to rule that out. I've also done the headlight switch loom fuse mod because I don't want it to burst into flames now! In the mean time, I've been sorting the Aqua ready for MOT which it failed today. I'll get on to that in a minute. Had a little trip up to Stealth at the beginning of the month. An enjoyable day, and good to meet some new faces, as well as catch up with old ones. First run produced the best result which I was happy with. Although if I'd not got the car up to temp, apparently it would have been even better. Its my first ever RR so you live and learn. I was shaking like the proverbial dog when taking the vid, hence the poor quality at points! So onto the Aqua. I'd replaced all flexis and bled the brakes, but the disks were pretty pitted as its not seen the road in 10 months and has been left out exposed to the elements. I took it for an Italian tune up just before MOT, and stomped on the brakes as the pedal was quite spongy - common after fitting 288s and bleeding etc. It didn't clear, and one of the reasons it failed the MOT. This is actually because the brake compensator has completely seized apparently, resulting in very low rear brake effort. I never thought to check to be fair. The other things it failed on............................. - N/S front wheel bolts loose - All four tyres not fitted in accordance with sidewall instructions. - They were all running in the wrong direction! As you can see, I'm a bit of a pleb! Hopefully I can free off the compensator and bleed it all again, then it'll be a very sorted car. For now, I'm content with being a douche............. :bonk::bonk::bonk:

I was lucky and got a set with brand new blades for that price posted. I'm a serial searcher of all things Corrado on ebay, so managed to snap em up pretty sharpish when they were advertised.
-
Brake compensator is seized so rear brakes are poor, (I didn't even notice or check tbh), and "cough cough" front wheel bolts weren't tight, and all 4 wheels were on the wrong way (directional). :bonk:
-
I'm sure it'll be fine Rob, but you can't help but be nervous! I took the Aqua for the MOT today actually. Failed, but only a couple of easily sorted problems. Mostly to do with me being a douche! haha!

It used to be better when her bum wasn't pixalated Wayne. :norty:
