  1. Your battery should be fine mate. If it spins freely, just check there are no fins missing or broken, as that'll cause vibration. They are pretty aggressive anyway, but unless you were being a tad dramatic, it shouldn't vibrate the whole cabin lots. You will definitely hear it, revs will drop slightly and you'll feel it mildly, but that's it mate.
  2. Yes mate, have a look on the bottom of the fusebox cover to see which position it is. Ignition needs to be on for the horn to work btw.
  3. At a guess you don't have a torque wrench if you are asking that Wayne, which kinda makes your question irrelevant. Pretty tight mate........ Better answer?
  4. Good spot! Pretty sure they're available from the dealer again. Think it was Chrisl or Goldie changed them all last year. The lids are separate though. Mk4 expansion will work, just need a different level sender connector from a breaker or something. I think it fits in the bracket ok though from what I remember reading. Much cheaper to replace in future too!
  5. https://www.vwheritage.com/shop/corrado/358611301/brake-master-cylinder-reservior-corrado-hydraulic-clutch/?crumbStartPage=1&crumbStartRow=1 Expansion tank is available from VW, around £35 when I bought one last year. PAS reservoir is also available iirc but I didn't get one. To clean, I've used degreaser, then hot soapy water with a babies bottle brush, then let it soak in hot water and bleach for a few hours. Rinse them through with hot soapy and it should be ok. It'll work for the PAS reservoir but not for expansion and brake fluid res. You can get them a bit better, but nothing like new. The PAS reservoir is a bit off colour from factory so looks a bit grubby regardless.
  6. Shame about this Dave. I'm sure you've thought long and hard about it though and as said, needs must. If you do decide to sell, fingers crossed it stays within the community as its a great car. :thumbleft:
  7. Correct, and yes its an electrical clip. Grease will conduct perfectly well so long as you don't go massively overboard mate. A very light smear is all thats required.
  8. In less than 7 weeks, thats immense! Waynes post count nearing 1000 in the same amount of time - dedication!
  9. Its lazy and needs to be worked to get the power out of it. Its a characteristic of the 12v engine that there is little torque under 3.5k rpm. You can reach over 70 mph in second mate, so I'm sure you'll have lots left if shifting down. It has 190 bhp, but its not particularly quick by modern standards. Probably not much more than any modern 2.0 turbo diesel. I know, as I could barely outrun a new BMW 320D a couple of months back!
  10. Probably your driving Wayne. Not much torque below 4k rpm. Shift down to second and floor it, then you'll see it fade away in the rear view mirror!
  11. Not remove it Wayne, just use a credit card to push any dirt thats trapped out of it. The clip makes contact with a brass ring on the back of the steering wheel. Its why your horn works no matter what position the wheel is at.
  12. Silicon grease has a low melting point. Good for anti corrosion and lubrication. Lithium has a high melting point and used for rotating parts that will get hot through friction. Silicon is white and as above, a little like vasaline. Lithium is dark in colour and a bitch to get off interior fabrics! The multi purpose grease you've just bought will be fine for the steering wheel.
  13. Looks a cracker! I'd get it running and sorted before selling. It'd certainly make strong money with the spec. You'll probably be left a little disappointed with selling it as it is, and I'd say breaking would be a big no no. Its worth putting a little in to get a lot back. :thumbleft:
  14. Oh, and make sure the wheels are dead ahead and the steering wheel is centralised before removing. :thumbleft:
  15. Pull off horn cover, taking care not to pull too hard as its connected with a spade connector. Disconnect spade, undo bolt, pull off wheel. Simples! Silicon grease can be got from any motor factors or DIY store mate.
  16. Yeah just a bit of dirt trapped on the brass contact is all. Remove Stearing wheel, clean, a touch of silicon grease won't hurt, replace wheel.
  17. Fuel pump relay is 67 or 167, and is on the bottom right. There are a few relays that won't be there, I forget exactly where but the left 2 definitely aren't there mate.
  18. Just had a look at it myself Wayne. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=80155&p=1060022&viewfull=1#post1060022
  19. It usually is mate. I'd just been in there and just didn't think! :bonk:
  20. Ahh bless! Thanks dude. :thumbleft: But yes we do. Should be able to get on here provided its not blocked for some stupid reason.
  21. So, after roping the missus in to come into work at lunch time, we successfully bled the brakes on the Aqua manually using the pedal. Car now has a fresh ticket, and is ready for sale! On the downside, she walked into my parts store, and saw the Bilsteins! Needless to say, she wasn't best pleased. :bad-words: :agrue: I'll try to look at it in a positive light though, which means I can bring them home and and fit them at the weekend! Last week at work next week before a short amount of leave, then off on my travels! :( Tomorrow will be giving the car a clean and fitting the new ignition switch, then doing preps for leaving work and shifting my parts into the garage where the car will spend the rest of the year. :pale:
  22. Yeah I don't think it's QUITE that time of year where they all come out of hibernation yet. That said, there were 4 in Collingwood last week. My 2 in the car club, a red G60 parked behind the car club, and an Aqua VR6 I saw outside the pass office, then again the following day parked outside the gym. Largest gathering of Corrados I've ever seen outside of an organised meet!
