Quick question, do the wheels have adapters? Aren't all 8v cars supposed to be 5 stud? -

If you were a bit closer I would. It's certainly not gonna hang around at that price! I need a cheap commuter next year when my workplace changes. -
£120 per axle to remove and refit brake calipers, disks and pads is mental! I'm in the wrong job!!!!!!

Sounds like they were throwing you a line tbh. If they managed it the first time, it wouldn't seize within a few weeks. They probably couldn't do it properly the first time but charged you for it regardless. Take it to a recommended place and tell them the factory settings. If you do a search, you'll get what it should be set to.

I think so mate. Most seem a little disappointed in the power delivery with a charger. Its obviously much cheaper to charge, but turbo seems to be the way forward! I'm seriously contemplating it tbh. Not sure the missus would go for it either, so I think my slush fund will have to become hidden!

1995 (M Reg) Corrado VR6 Breaking - Updated with Pictures
seanl82 replied to P3rks's topic in Cars for Breaking
It happens on every forum unfortunately, but luckily it is very rare on here. In my 4 years as a member, this is only the second instance I know of that this has happened. Other user was banned iirc. Good to know that Mcdaddy is taking this further, and it's a good thing he's a police officer so will actually discourage this from happening again. I got a number plate plinth off of the seller about 6 months ago, and it took ages to come. Seller span me an excuse which seemed a bit far fetched, but it arrived in the end so no harm done at the time. Glad he will get his comeuppance though as I despise this sort of behaviour. -
Wow, didn't realise you were doing almost the full body Daren! Hats off to you mate. :thumbleft:
-
Dont think so no. If they are, they may well be corroded out anyway.
-
Yeah sorry its front drop 25-30mm :bonk: That'd be my guess. All plus axle I believe are late 5 stud, so that would include 8v and 16v? I may be wrong though. Plus axle may be vr6 only...........
-
Got my receipt, part number is BLS46-190109 for plus axle.
-
Thats the one. Give them a call if you're unsure. I have a late vr6 so needed the plus axle version (can't remember the part number). As for rear drop, depends if your boot or fuel tank is full I suppose!
-
Yeah they're the same. You can have yours refurbished through Mr Injector and the like, for decent money.
-
They're oil shocks which are replacements for the standard ones. The B8's are uprated gas shocks. Not available from your standard motor factors really. Available from Demon tweeks, larkspeed, Awsome GTI...........
-
Oh yeah, you should get forces (veterans?) Discount with both Rog.

Not sure on email, but I switched from Virgin to Sky about 6 months ago Rog. Some great deals with sky at the moment, and I now have every conceivable channel for £71, compared to £90 + with virgin, and I didn't have movies, and only had sky sports 1+2. Zero noticeable difference in broadband speed, although tbf, I don't really download much/anything. I hated virgin customer service too. It's similar with sky at the weekend, as you're directed to India like with virgin. But weekdays it's a call centre in Scotland. SLIGHTLY easier to understand and more helpful. Things do actually get done though, as opposed to empty assurances that they will do this or that but it'll take 3-5 days to take affect, which happens every time from the Indian call centre.

Forgot, they must also be self levelling as well. Friendly MOT testers may let you get away with it. All factory fitted HID or Xenon systems over 2k must have the above, as if they're dirty or poorly aligned, can cause dazzle to other motorists. I've lost count of the times I've swore at oncoming traffic due to being dazzled by these monstrosities. I hate them with a passion, especially when fitted to SuV's. :censored:

Tis true mate. I thought all proper engineers knew about it...... :camp:

Not me, depends which service you join!

Corrado Part Duex - 24V Aqua Blue - She's gone.
seanl82 replied to Sean_Jaymo's topic in Members Gallery
Thanks Sean, I'll have a read of the instructions tomorrow and get them ordered. The rear top mounts are obsolete now. I got the Lemforder kits from AVS spares. Around £15 per side iirc. -
They're illegal unless you have a headlight wash facility. They'd need changing out at MOT time to avoid failure. My recommendation, and for around the same price as a cheap ebay HID kit, would be to buy an uprated headlight loom available on here. Makes a massive difference, and no cutting of wires needed like you would with cheap HIDs.

Sean, aside from new top mounts front and rear, is there anything else worth getting? I've got new lower bolts, but I'm wondering if I need to get new front spring top plates as I don't know if the ones on at the moment are original or not, and suited to the bilsteins?
