I was thinking the same. I hope you get the feeling that most do upon returning to the Corrado after a while Jim. That of excitement and adrenaline for what is such a 'special' car. It's either that, or you'll have yet more snags!......... Hope not though!

I can't comment from personal experience Sean, but I've read it on quite a few threads on here. I got the green PAS fluid from AVS spares as I too was a bit worried after reading so many horror stories.

Don't get hung up with "uprated" spark plugs. Single element plugs are more than sufficient, and apparently run better anyway so stick with those. HT leads, OEMparts.co.uk I think sell them at a decent price, but don't quote me on that. The cheap ones from Eurocarparts etc are best left alone apparently. Dubpower leads have a good reputation and are very well priced (dubpower.co.uk). Also don't forget to change the drive belt. Can be had from carparts4less or eurocarparts for about £12, and is the one with part number 7PK1290 for power steering but non A/C VR6s.

Me too. I was out at £48. I have the group buy foam, but would prefer this. I'm not willing to pay mega money for a bit of waffle foam foam though, regardless of who its made by!

PAS - Power Assisted Steering. Its green in colour. I forgot about coolant! :bonk: Its really cheap from VW tbh. 2 x 1.5 litre tubs of G13 or whichever it is now, top up with distilled water, and thats perfect.

Wayne, I got my spark plugs from ebay as they were linked to me from another forum member and were the cheapest I could find. NGK BKR5EKU, and were £20.54 delivered for the 6, from Automotive parts distribution ltd according to the invoice. Again, I bought them through ebay though. Oil, I use Fuchs titan pro race 10w 50 from opie oils. Its certainly not cheap, but is one of the best oils on the market, and makes a noticeable improvement/reduction in engine noise. Oil filter can be had by most major motor factors, but I'd recommend their "premium" brand rather than the cheaper ones. PAS fluid, make sure you use the VW green type fluid. I got mine from AVS Spares. DO NOT use ATF, or any other standard type steering fluid that is red/pink in colour. I'm not massively in the know about the reasons why, but these cars seriously don't like it! We're talking almost instant failure and leaking of pumps and racks in some cases! Brake fluid is fine, so any decent brand dot 4 fluid is sufficient. Make sure you tell the garage to bleed the clutch and abs pump as well, and emphasise that they bleed the brake master cylinder. This is where 99% of people fail if they don't know the car, when trying to bleed the braking system. If there is air in the master cylinder, you can pump 5 litres of fluid through the system, and still not have a solid pedal. Aftermarket air filter, get a K&N cleaning kit, follow the instructions, and be careful not to put too much oil on it as the oil kills MAFs pretty sharpish. Apart from inspection and greasing routines, thats all thats really required mate.

All will be 57.1. The hubs and centre are probably just corroded so they're hard to remove.

It's all a bit 90s imo. Not a fan at all tbh. When I was looking a few years back I came across a sherry pearl VR with the reiger body kit like that yellow one. It was a good price and it was good workmanship, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy it.

The outer bolts are captive in the sunroof panel Wayne, so you won't be able to remove them. There are slots on the inside of the panel structure, so you will be able to get a star drive in there no bother with the sunroof in the tilt position mate.

As title suggests, late hanger type wanted. SS preferred but standard mild steel will do so long as it's absolutely solid with no holes. Anything considered and cheaper the better. Just need it to get the other car through an MOT prior to posting it for sale. Cheers, Sean.

Standard exhaust diameter for vr6 is 2 1/4" Jim. I would have thought the techtonics one is this at a minimum......,

Alarm modules are generally fitted behind the dash. If you remove the undertrays both sides, you should be able to locate it. Favourite hiding places are behind the glove box, being the centre console, or if it's been a lazy fitter, shoved up somewhere around the fusebox.

Yeah just put it in the tilt position and loosen the 4 securing screws. This will give you a bit of movement.

215/45/16 are probably best suited I reckon mate.

Strip the fabric from the bottom and fold it all up on top. The trims clip in further down the into the backrest so you can unclip them with the fabric out of the way.
