Heater matrix replacement won't come cheap.cost is in the labour as it's a long job. Replace with a mk3 golf one from the premium gsf range, I forget the manufacturer. Heaters only working on 4 is a thermal resistor and very cheap/ easy to replace. Have a look in the wiki section for the guide mate.

James, yeah I remember that, but as said, I think he's based around the Midlands somewhere which is obviously too far. nrc, thanks. Thats what I'm afraid of tbh. The screen isn't in bad condition and has very few noticeable stone chips, which is why I'm cautious about fixing something that isn't broken.

When my car goes in for paint, I'll obviously have to replace the screen as it won't come out without breaking. Its had a replacement screen at some point as you can see the amount of sealant that had been used with the interior trim removed. I've had my outer trim out to check for any possible corrosion and it looks pretty sound. It went back in well too! My only problem is that I'm bricking it a bit, what with all the recent reports of poorly fitted screens, and masses of rust coming through within a matter of months! This is making me reconsider whether to pull the screen, or just remove the outer trim and paint behind it before refitting. I know there are a few fitter that come well recommended somewhere around the Midlands, but this is a bit too far obviously. Anyone have any recommendations for down South? Tbh, I'd want to be present for the whole time its being fitted. I hate to have to look over a "professionals" shoulder, but I'm just really worried about it!

Get yourself to Bristol Volksfest in a couple of weeks. May well be be a few for sale there, and you can introduce yourself to us all too! :thumbleft: -
Thanks Mic! Sean, as much as I like these wheels, I love your CHs mate so not sure Id agree there! Thanks Chris, look forward to seeing yours too. Ride height is perfect imo. Gives a good stance and looks the part, but never had any bother with speed bumps yet. Rob, I've only got pics of it inside the workshop from when I first got it, before it had a good detail. It is a huge improvement from then though looking back, although still far from being perfect.

Haha, I didn't even see this ad between it being posted to being sold as I'd gone out for a fag! I bought a set a few weeks ago that popped up on ebay for a very reasonable price. I bought them as soon as I saw them as I knew they'd be gone pretty sharpish!

The grey Cabby parked to the left of it just out of shot is better mate.
-
Just thought I'd throw this one out there. :smug: I was just looking back on it when in the workshop and thought, "God that looks so good!"
-
My apologies too mate, I didn't realise it wasn't yourself who started the thread!
-
Sounds like its in good hands then mate. Always good to find someone who you know will endeavour to do the job the right way. :thumbleft:

I know Dan Rob, he was just starting out last time I spoke to him. I take it he does good work then?

Bristol Volksfest 6-8th June *Convoy & BBQ Details*
seanl82 replied to CazzaVR's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
What time would the BBQ be planned for roughly Andy? Just wondering if its an afternoon or later in the day with a few beers and the risk of salmonella one! :silent::lol: I've gotta leave late Saturday afternoon/early Evening to get back down due to work Sunday really mate. :thumbleft: -
Starting for a couple of seconds then cutting out is usually a sign of failure of the factory immobiliser, although 10 seconds is a bit long. Usually it's only two or three second's. Have a look through the vagcom thread to see if there's anyone local to you willing to check codes for a few beer tokens.

I'll be +1 too. Think I'm gonna come up Saturday afternoon now, stay in a b&b Sat night, and camp Sunday night. -
Apparently its the VRs little sister Rob, the G60.

Good job on the bracket batman! Love the Hekos too. Got a sneak preview of the Trimsport Badge the other week, looks spot on as well mate. Nice when things go to plan on a glorious day like today!

I'm not trying to undermine you Tomi, I understand its probably a fair price for everything you mention. I just couldn't personally justify spending that much money on a set of reflectors is all. That said, I am a tight arsed git!

They do look pretty special tbf. There are bound to be UK based companies that offer this service though. £100 seems a bit rich to me is all.
-
Its probably best to ask, but all I can suggest is to send them an email link to your profile page, which shows date joined. Strange you had to give proof. Most just ask if you are a member of any clubs, but I have had one or two who ask for usernames too.

Mine arrived today too, thanks Steve! I'll get it fitted Monday now. :thumbleft:

Good luck mate! Mine was that low when I first got it. Looked good, but utterly impractical. TO THE ROOF!
