    corrado broke

Its quite a common symptom of a crank sensor fault tbf. Cutting out and unable to start when hot, but will start again once cooled. Usually due to cracked insulation at the elbow.
  3. My bad, must have been getting mixed up with you Rob, its in Execeter! Here you go. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=81320
  4. Could be a very good price if conversion hoses are attached and still intact. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CORRADO-VR6-Front-Brake-Upgrade-312mm-Discs-With-Calipers-/131005679248?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e808c0690
  5. Don't wanna miss the boat as they say is all mate! Interested on one of these, or the one missing a lug if the Chrome is no better than the one I have already Mine is pretty poor though tbh! :thumbleft:
  6. What is the Chrome like on the three script badges that are not excellent as the other is described Andy?
  7. Saw it on GolfGTIForum a couple of years back, and quite a few got it on there. I didn't feel the need in a mk3..............8v..............
  8. The problem is, that is not an isolated incident! There was one on here iirc with a guy driving with his windscreen covered in snow. These people should be banned from driving for a long long time. This is the state of affairs in this country at the moment, complete lack of common sense by a vast amount of the population.
  9. My Dad was Steve. He passed 8 years ago so you probably never met him. I'm on POET(WE) course, so in Collingrad for quite some time yet! We won't be back in Guzz now until Christmas, but hopefully not in the Corrado if I'm honest! Not the most comfortable of drives on a Friday afternoon with two young kids, and a shed load of luggage and birthday presents stuffed in every stowage, hole and crevice available! It'd be even worse at that time of year! Get yourself down to DevonDubShack. The guys name is Dan, although I think he's moved again now, but he used to be on the Embankment just past the yacht club. Always has a few breakers or is working on various Vdubs, so may be able to show you round or point you in the right direction. There are a couple of Valvers in the local area I believe, and I think there is even one in the process of doing the 1.8T conversion, though my memory fails me as to who it is. Have a look through the members galleries to see who it is. There is a very tasty VR6 Turbo in Paignton too I believe.
  10. Hes my Uncle! Kind of half uncle actually, hes my Dads half brother. When you mentioned the CRX and being from Plymouth I remembered your speech! I'd forgotten about you asking to look round one actually, as I had an impromtu visit down this weekend gone in the Corrado due to the death of the daily. Would have tried to get hold of you for a looksee if I'd remembered. Have you left the mob now then? I'm stuck up in C'wood for a while, 9 weeks into PO's course!
  11. I thought it was it little lacking in content tbh. I entirely understand its due to members not submitting enough info, and its in no way a dig at Jim who has very little to work with obviously, but I would have liked to have seen a little more on the National Day. Even if it was just bulked out a little with some more photos, that would have made it a little better imho. A very good write up indeed from Chaz, and Judy's rear beam ditty were really all that was in it apart from the AGM minutes. Maybe an all members email reminder that content is needed for the next issue?
  12. Ignition switches are very common problems mate. Have a look in the wiki as there is a guide on how to change them. Bit of a ball ache but as said, its pretty common. You can test if its the switch by bypassing it. Have a search as I cant remember how to I'm afraid. Switches are still available from the dealer for around the £25 mark. I'd suggest you dont go for a cheaper alternative after hearing of them being faulty after a very short time. :thumbleft:

    Red Rear Lights

If you cannot find 50 watt resistors anywhere, try 50 ohm....... As that is the measurement of resistance. :smug:
  14. Should start with the factory immobiliser, but cut out after around two seconds. My money would be on the ignition switch. Doxyou get a click from the starter motor or anything?
  15. My negative battery terminal is fubar'd so the clamp doesnt tighten down properly. Ive been able so sort it by twisting it a little if I got the dreaded click before, but now the alternator cant even charge it as its so loose. It manifested itself after I stopped off on the way down to Plymouth Friday, and I couldnt start the car. Anyway back on topic, I had a toss up between three people for who wanted to jump start me as they all wanted a bit of the action! All crowded round saying how nice it was and asking various questions. Lifted my mood when I could have been a bit peeved that I'm in for an expensive month now that both cars require money spending on them.......
  16. Corrado to the Rescue!!!! Missus was supposed to be going down to Plymouth with the kids tonight, in readiness for a Wedding tomorrow. I have to stay back until tomorrow lunchtime because of work, so was getting a lift down. Unfortunately, the Saab decided it didn't want to do the trip, and died on her on the way home from shopping. She managed to get it started again, but the engine warning light was on, and she had to crawl home in limp mode. She was gonna take it down to a specialist today thats only a mile or so away, but it wouldn't start. When I got home, the car that had been sat on the drive for the past 8 weeks came to the rescue!!! I managed to jump start the car, and she drove it down to the specialist who can't get it on diagnostics until tomorrow, and who knows what it'll throw up. Sounds like its missing to me, so ignition related. This therefore means that I've had to Tax the car today, thus loosing out on three and a half weeks tax, and we all have to travel down tomorrow in the machine! Not ideal, but needs must. To the rescue again!! Is it weird that I was hoping to have to tow it to the garage, just so I could get a pic of a truly rare occurrence! I actually spent a couple of hours trying to sort the ride height out yesterday too. Managed to get it all within 5mm each axle (as such), but it doesn't seem right as one of the rears is to the top, the other is about a third of the way down. Car is also pulling quite a bit to right which is gonna play havoc with the tyres no doubt, but I'll have to grin and bear it for the time being.
  17. Looks excellent Daren, quick turnaround there!
  18. No swallowing of anything here! I did buy with my heart though................
  19. Mechanically and structurally sound, but a little rough around the edges.
  20. Sweeeet! :fondle: Love to mate. See you next year when your out of hibernation.
  21. Ah it was probably you I saw the other week near Whitely shopping centre then! Missus was driving so couldnt catch up and give u a wave.
