  1. Yeah no worries mate. I'll PM you some tonight when I get home from work.
  2. Get in the bloody queue! I'm waiting on a postage price and paypal details!
  3. I have a set of 4. All have good tread, but two have cracking in the rubber that was an MOT advisory, and one of those has a slow puncture. I can get them out at the end of the week and would like £60 + postage which would be around £40 if your interested?
  4. I have one, but it doesnt fit the larger batteries unfortunately.

    Good lord!

  6. What about the thin numberplate adhesive foam they stock at Halfords? Think its made by Harris iirc, may be worth a punt if you can't get any at your bodyshop wholesaler. Its pretty cheap as well.
  7. Is this the handbrake cover trim Chris? If Tony doesn't want this, I'll have it dependant on price mate. Doesn't matter what colour either. :thumbleft:
  8. Good news! You should JUST be able to get it to 90 degrees with thumb and fore finger for correct tension. This sounds like a really good and simple sutup for stage 1. Did you have an engine health check before deciding to do it, or has the lump had any work in the past? Just asking as I'm curious for mine now!
  9. James - looking forward to updates mate! Bill - thank you very much. I can actually see light at the end of the tunnel now! Dal - Wheels are 17x7.5 et 35, tyres are 205/40/17 so its all a perfect fit.
  10. Yeah mine is off the road now too. I might tax it though just to get it in work and undercover for the winter. Sounds daft that I've just bought some wheels ready to lay it up, but I have the money atm so may as well get what I want while I can.
  11. Ha ha, thats next doors James. Irony is, she's Irish too!
  12. Small update. Not had a reply from the re-trimmers I've emailed for my bolster repair. Theres a garage locally that does interior repairs, so I'll give them a call next week to see if they can help. All the seat covers have been removed and all thats required is to remove the stitching, use the old leather as a template, then stitch it all back in. Doesn't even need to be an exact colour match as I'll be re-colouring the lot with the furniture clinic kit. My next door neighbour has a machine and I'd do it myself if I knew where to source the leather from. I just don't want to buy some random stuff online and it be a completely different grade/texture. Anyway, picked up a cloth interior as some of you may have seen in the parts for sale section, and used the passenger seat to replace my worn and crumbling drivers foam. All that needs doing now apart from the leather repair is a set of B pillars then the interior will be finished. Got myself a set of 288mm calipers so just need to order the hose kit and a set of disks, then I'm pretty much where I want to be before respray! Oh yeah, picked up a set of RX228s today and whipped em straight on after a good clean. Ideally could do with a refirb, although they're not too bad, just a bit of light kurbing which I can live with for the time being. N/S Front needs a new tyre due to puncture but I'll get that fitted in the next week or two. Possibly a small 5mm drop on the front to sort the stance out, but I'll see if there are any rubbing issues first.
  13. Hot soapy water with a bit of sand and a thorough shake for the brake, pas fluid reservoir and expansion tank, and a bottle brush with hot soapy water and a babies bottle brush will bring them all up really well mate! :thumbleft: Sorry its my pet hate when people spend a massive amount of money and time sorting their bays, then leave these looking really grubby! :geek:
  14. I'm just offering up what I know mate, not trying to argue. :thumbleft: I'm a weapons technician, and I have rebuilt circuits for marine and aerospace usage. In aerospace it wouldn't be contemplated. A new harness would be used. All components are bent over and glued down, and all solder joints are triple checked. We even have dispensation to use 60:40 lead content solder as nowadays its not available to the public due to toxic fumes. Everything must be of the highest standard BAR NONE due to gravitation forces that are put through them. I'm not just regurgitating information I've read or heard, I've actually worked on these systems. :geek:
  15. A crimp is just like a single core wire though really. Also as its been crimped each end it will have three weak points as opposed to the one on a solder joint. Soldering, then using a strongback is the safest option. In all honesty, either is sufficient in most cases and pretty unlikely even with engine vibration to work loose or break due to fatigue. Only if its on a flexible joint like inside a door boot that will have regular movement would it be likely to be an issue.
  16. Or just replace the fuel pressure regulator for a proper solution? All the non return valve will be doing is holding the fuel in the rail anyway mate.

    What's missing?

Yeah there should be foam to seal it all up around there mate. Will help it sit snug and not rattle about. Its probably just crumbled and broken away with age. I think there may be a plastic nut around the back as well iirc, but not 100%

    What's missing?

Think the undertray covers the vent pods and side of the heater box up Pete. The second pic looks like you need one of the large plastic carpet retainers. Its screws down though the panel hole, into the sound deadening retainer if you see what I mean mate.
  19. Thanks mate. I know MyHermes can do a Large box upto 10 kg for less than £8, but its whether you'd trust them to courier things you're selling. If you could get back to me that would be great and I'll send the money across to you buddy. Cheers, Sean.
  20. How much would this be Posted please Hasan? Very interested.

    Cream Wheels

I did indeed Gar. Moved across in October last year with work. Not sure if we'll end up back down there now, although we still own a house that we Let out. Gotta keep her that wears the trousers happy! The big Ferris wheel hadn't been up long when those pics were taken though. (Around August 2011 iirc). Think every City in the country has one now though!

    Cream Wheels

I can't really offer an accurate answer to that as they were DIY'd mate. I didn't seal them afterward either so brake dust and dirt got trapped in the orange peel and was a nightmare to get off! They won't be any different from any other light colour if your having them powdercoated though I wouldn't think. Borbet C's are as you say easy to keep clean which really helps. Enough gap in between the spokes to get all the way to the back with a decent brush too.

My old Dragon Green Golf3 with cream wheels.
  24. Just thought I'd give this a bump as I'm beginning to compile parts ready for a DIY respray, and researching more into it all. There is an excellent Guide in the MIGWelding forum - http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=9&ved=0CEkQFjAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mig-welding.co.uk%2Fspray-painting.htm&ei=bkAgUtHMOc2IhQfSoIHICg&usg=AFQjCNHiB4xeEnlU45em4ejyRAvRhpRaBQ It doesnt cover everything, like how much paint you'll need etc, but this can be asked from a reputable supplier before purchase. Well worth a read if anyone is considering giving it a go themselves.
  25. Did Palace in the Cup on Tuesday, great to get one up Holloway! We absolutely bossed them as well, although admittedly it was a young Palace team, its still a good scalp and will do wonders for our confidence. Southampton in the next round at St Marys which is excellent as I'm just round the corner now! Got the mighty Gills on Saturday who we beat in the First round of the Cup, so hopefully we can continue that on into the league. Been a bit disappointing in the League so far, free scoring but severely lacking in defence. Jay Emmanuel Thomas and Sam Boldock have been phenomenal so far though, and have developed a real understanding with each other. Easily the best strike force in the league! Just need to keep Boldock fit, although Marlon Harewood on the bench also offers decent cover. Time for a first league win since March! COYR!!!!
