  1. Do you still have the roof antenna and base Chris? If so, how much posted please mate?
  2. Haha, cheers Rog! The mixture of wit and enthusiasm (and good looks obviously) must be a family trait! Car club is practically dead mate. Its where I planned on doing a diy respray early next year, but its been closed down for the time being and no news on when it'll be accessable again. Club manager is on resettlement so not really interested and no one seems interested in taking it on when he goes in January. I've been told I can't do it being on course.
  3. AAA heads minus cams in the clearance section at VEGE for £101 + VAT!! Might be worth getting one anyway for that price if they are a direct fit!!!
  4. Have you checked injector flow rate and pattern Rob? Same with compression, both are cheap and easy to check so well worth doing, even if its just to rule them both out mate.
  5. Mine is pretty damn heavy too tbh. I've done a fluid flush and changed the auxiliary belt, the pump isn't noisy either and nothing has changed. Its good it has a positive feel, but its a touch too heavy imo. I've not compared it to another although I had a valver 8 months before the VR, but don't remember it being quite as heavy.
  6. Absolute tank of a car! I know someone that did it a couple of years ago for charity (can't remember which one), but I think he had a little more to spend. He bought an old 5 series tourer exactly like the one in the centre of that pic on the link! Had about 200k on the clock, had to replaced a couple of tyres, and off he went round Europe with a couple of mates for a couple of weeks. We all gave him a few consumables (duck tape, tie wraps, bungees, bulbs etc) just in case, and he completed it all without a hitch.
  7. You'd be better off trimming the text off with a stanley blade, but if you heat the lamin-x first with a hairdryer/heatgun, it should mould itself around the text a fair bit when it cools. Its not perfect, but not really noticable. Seeing as they are so small its worth a go before cutting it off, and you won't waste too much doing a repeater.
  8. Its practically a permanent imprint now Matt! As previous posts suggests, I've been concentrating on the daily a bit this month. I have sourced a few parts for the C though. None of it should really be priority, but most have been bargain buys so were hard not to! Rear Corrado Script badge to replace my very worn one, top door card trim to replace my very cracked one, driver window reg to replace my very slow one (although its got better the last couple of days), all red rears, clear jewelled side repeaters, and a few other odds and sods. Exterior list is now almost complete apart from a splitter to replace my very broken one, and original aerial to replace the stupid shark fin thing thats on there. Its just paint then really. Interior is not too far away, just pillars "cough cough James"........ and furniture clinic kit for the leather. All that's left that I want to do mechanically is 288mm upgrade at the front. Got the calipers, disks and pads now, just need conversion hoses. Not sure if paint is gonna happen in the next few months now though due to the loss of car club for an unknown period, so nowhere to do it myself. Will just have to save a bit more and get it done properly. In the meantime, I'll probably start tearing the car down to get underside bits stripped and painted/powdercoated. I know I'm kidding myself tbh, it never really stops does it!!:lol:

  10. Big thanks to Leon263. Items well packaged and dispatched very quickly with tracking number PM'd straight away. All arrived in perfect order and very quickly. Thanks mate!
  11. I use Megs NXT gen all metal polysh with good results. (No its not a spelling mistake!)
  12. What are the width of those? Wouldnt go too slim as things happen.............as you well know!
  13. See I think they are very subtle which I like. Look at a Focus RS, now that is a sheep in wolves clothing. Trying too hard, and at the end of the day, its still a Ford Focus. Big lairy body kits and stupid bright paint colours do nothing for me.
  14. Drove it. Handling when the roads are damp is still quite confidence inspiring, but wheel spin is getting pretty damn annoying!
  15. My Uncle has a Passat CC, and I had a drive back in it from an experience day a few months back. Very very nice actually, I was pleasantly surprised. Golf R, Scirocco R...... same thing different body.
  16. Hi Emma! You could put it in the footwell, and there is actually a spare grommet/hole for the wiring just underneath the ABS pump which would is directly in front of the glove box undertray (ish). I wouldn't go cutting big holes to fit it in through the bulkhead though as its structural. Another option is to build your own box which can be recessed in where the wheel arch is in the boot. Looks neat and tidy and doesn't really affect boot space. Just don't turn it up too much with the dog in there!
  17. You can't see last post in individual sections with tapatalk either which I don't like. It keeps binning me out and not recognising my log on too. It then automatically puts a googlemail bit on the end which is an account I don't even have, so its annoying. I prefer the standard site tbh.
  18. Wish I was in this predicament! Thats a hard one tbh. I think the Rocco looks better lower spec, but the 3 door A5 S-Line looks fantastic. It depends what your circumstances are as well I think. The A5 is slightly bigger and it comes in more door form too so at least you'll have a good bit of room if you regularly have people in the back. Think the A5 will probably depreciate less too tbh.
  19. Last update on the Saab I promise! Drained the fuel by disconnecting the filter (which was the only place as the filter is on the engine bay bulkhead) and kept priming it until it all came out. Replaced the fuel filter and topped up with 25l of DIESEL! and it fired up and idled fine straight away! (Thank f... for that!). It was booked in for MOT four days after the missus did it, so put it back in and it failed on rear beam brake imbalance. Swapped a caliper out for a recon pagid item from ECP and jobs a goodun! I've now just gone and spent £500 on parts alone to sort it out and hopefully turn it into a car that'll last a little while. DMF, Clutch, CSC, Cambelt, waterpump and lots of service items which it sorely needs. Wish the missus would let me spend that sort of money on MY car though! :(

    what colour

I prefer the beige personally tbh......
  21. Welcome to the forum Gordon! Its a greak source of knowledge here, and I'd also suggest the Corrado Club of Canada that has a lot of information also. Stick some pictures up of yours, always good to see how which direction you guys across the pond take with regard to modding.
  22. Thanks for the offer, and although very tempting, I think I'll pass..........
  23. Its possible to remove the old races using a hammer and drift, and to get the new ones in using a 38mm (I think) socket. Its an easy DIY job tbh mate. If your replacing disks as well, worst case is you can take a new set of disks with the new races to a garage and I'm sure they'll press em in for you for a couple of quid. Much less than what they'd charge you to replace the whole lot.

    what colour

Thats what you call wrapped round the little finger! Even controlling what you do to your car! :nono:
