Price? Interested in N/S wing, ger knob & engine cover. Pics would help too, Cheers.

Gave it a wash for the first time in 6 weeks!:oops: Also gave it a quick coat of wax to top up from last time. Just as I'd finished, it started raining. Perfect for some beading pics! :norty:

There is only one reverse light as standard. Test for voltage at the cluster as a first port of call, but it could be the reverse switch on top of the gearbox thats faulty. Not uncommon tbh.

It was at the top, I think it had been vibrating on the underside that had caused the problem. Housing cleaned up with the fuel from the old filter and looking nice and clean now, new filter fitted and all good. :smug:

I think the Campaign and Nothelle are much rarer than the Storm

Smash it off Rob. Thats what I had to do in the end. It'll have no stress keeping it tight then so should come out easily.

Just found the problem with the fuel leak. Turns out it was a fracture on the filter itself. Genuine filter too and its a bit of a strange one. I've never seen it happen before but I guess its been constantly resonating against the underside which has caused it. Happy enough though as everything came off really easily so its nice simple fix. You can see the small crack in the centre where the lip is. Off to get a replacement this afternoon so all should well.

VR and GTI are 5x100. All other are 4x100. Amazing looking wheels and I wish it wasn't so close to Xmas! (As the missus keeps reminding me!)

It's unlikely the plug has pulled out unless it's been fudged in the past Rob. The plug pivots into the ECU and is held in place by a metal clamp. Sounds like a duff sensor to me which is pretty common and easy to replace. Here is a guide I did on my old mk3 Golf, same principle different platform. http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=204972.0

Won't be down until just before Christmas mate. If you can hold out til then I don't mind bringing it down with me. Alternatively I can give it to an oppo of mine and you can pick it from him? Sure he wouldn't mind and you can hold onto it for a week or so if you need mate?

Go make yourself a cuppa, and have a read of this. Some truly stunning classics. http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/158371/pics-goodwood-italiano-breakfast-club

Either a rare truthful ebay seller, or just trying too hard!??? http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=261317648361

Just pull each injector in turn and stick it in an empty transparent water bottle. Prime the engine and take a look at the spray pattern. It'll be obvious if it crap as it should be a fine mist and not dribble out like a cracked open tap. Mark the bottle where the fuel reaches and move onto the next one to compare flow rate and pattern. New seals will more than likely be needed when recurring though, but they're pretty cheap.

Haha, I know the feeling mate! For someone like me who has all the detailing gear too, I'm ashamed to say I've not even washed mine in about 6 weeks!
-
Ive not experienced it coming loose again although its only been about 8 months. I used a bostik branded one, although if hinesy has done a full interior it sounds like he has more experience than me.

They do tend to take a while to warm up tbh Rog. Water temp will lead oil up to 90 and then stay there, then oil temp should rise to between 100 - 120 depending on driving and outside temp conditions. As components (temp sensors) start getting on a bit, as you can imagine they start becoming slow to react, and misread a bit. ECU and indicator temps are read off of different sensors, so getting a live readout from VCDS will give you a better indication even if not 100% accurate. New sensors are not too expensive so if they're suspected to be inaccurate, you won't need to re-mortgage to change them!

Looks great Rob, paintwork looks stunning! Well jel! :awesome:

As long as the material is not too thin, I used spray carpet adhesive to good effect on my leather where it was coming away from the top of the door cards. I tried it in the corner of the roof lining fabric though and it soaked through a bit and has gone hard so I wouldn't suggest it for that.

Ok mate thanks. I'll have a proper look at the weekend, but I think it's coming from the crimped part of the hose just after the filter. It's spraying upward I think so I couldn't see exactly where it's coming from. I'll have a decent look before worrying too much. Pretty sure worst case is a new fuel pipe and filter so not the end of the world.

Did you have to replace the line Rob? Where did you get if from mate?

Noticed a fairly significant fuel leak today. Ive been really lazy the last week and have driven the short distance to work, which means the car barely gets up to running temp so I sit in the car (in the warm) for 10 minutes at idle when I get there. I noticed a smell of fuel first thing this morning but put it down to cold map giving it extra fuel. Came back from work and noticed a small puddle under the filter, and on switching the car on its ****ing out of the outlet from the filter. I nursed it home hoping it wouldnt go up in flames (its quite near the bend in the exhaust) and shut off, by which time its getting dark. I wont touch it now until the weekend when I investigate further, but I think its coming from the pipe just in front of the filter. Got home to a slip through the door from myhermes, saying package was in the back garden. Thought great, all red rears have arrived! Its obvious he threw the box over the 7ft high wall, and on picking it up, the rattling pointed toward something amiss! Opened the box to find that they'd been terribly packed for a start, (just squeezed into a box with no protection) and the top of one of the lenses is cracked, and the top and bottom of the black plastic lip is now broken on one. Ffs! Not noticable when on and it doesnt affect the operation, but its not the point! All in all, not a good day today!
