Thats what you need to think about. 30mm lowering springs may look great with certain size wheels, but may look terrible with others. Coilovers are the safest bet, and you can pick up a decent used set for around £150 if cost is an issue. I've got FK Konigsports, and they're ok but thats about it. They have adjustable damping but it needs to be set before fitting which obviously doesn't lend itself to whole "adjustment" based on your preference. I think these are the next up from the Highsports iirc.

Plymouth rolling road meet, gauging interest.

Dying to find out what youve got eh Rog! Lol. If it was late December or early next year I'd bring mine down. At Butlins at the end of this month for a 90s w.end though. -
Look forward to seeing this James. I rubbed mine down today actually, used 1200 grit but the tint was very thin and uneven so its almost orange again in places. I'll take it right back and start again, but I'd like to see what you use for the pinstriping as thats a very good alternative to using LEDs. I dont want the reverse lights completely tinted out either.

Starter motor is a diy job and not too expensive, and you'll be able to see the ring gear with the starter removed to assess if there is any damage. If that needs replacing then its a gearbox off job unfortunately. Dont let it put you off though, its far more likely to be starter motor only so see how you go mate.

You can but its quite far back so you wont get much movement on the handle. Can be done though mate.

You can send them away to mrinjector for cleaning Rob. Do a search on here, sorry I cant provide a link Im on my phone, but they give you a printout and % flow rate before and after. Someone posted it up before but I think theyre pretty well thought of.

Yeah I'd say the solenoid is sticking and if your lucky just the starter motor gear is goosed. Worst case is that as its been sticking on continuously for a while, its shredded the ring gear on the flywheel too.

Noooooo don't do that! Use the wishbone mount if doing it a side at a time. If its too low to get your jack under, drive onto a bit of 2x4 or something. If you need both of, use the subframe Rog. Reason for not jacking at the sill, is that its pretty thin, and the underseal will get wrecked and create a perfect place for rust to start. Lots have been consigned to the scrapheap for this very reason. edit; Not Kips reply, the one before.

Price? Interested in N/S wing, ger knob & engine cover. Pics would help too, Cheers.

Gave it a wash for the first time in 6 weeks!:oops: Also gave it a quick coat of wax to top up from last time. Just as I'd finished, it started raining. Perfect for some beading pics! :norty:

There is only one reverse light as standard. Test for voltage at the cluster as a first port of call, but it could be the reverse switch on top of the gearbox thats faulty. Not uncommon tbh.

It was at the top, I think it had been vibrating on the underside that had caused the problem. Housing cleaned up with the fuel from the old filter and looking nice and clean now, new filter fitted and all good. :smug:

I think the Campaign and Nothelle are much rarer than the Storm

Smash it off Rob. Thats what I had to do in the end. It'll have no stress keeping it tight then so should come out easily.

Just found the problem with the fuel leak. Turns out it was a fracture on the filter itself. Genuine filter too and its a bit of a strange one. I've never seen it happen before but I guess its been constantly resonating against the underside which has caused it. Happy enough though as everything came off really easily so its nice simple fix. You can see the small crack in the centre where the lip is. Off to get a replacement this afternoon so all should well.

VR and GTI are 5x100. All other are 4x100. Amazing looking wheels and I wish it wasn't so close to Xmas! (As the missus keeps reminding me!)

It's unlikely the plug has pulled out unless it's been fudged in the past Rob. The plug pivots into the ECU and is held in place by a metal clamp. Sounds like a duff sensor to me which is pretty common and easy to replace. Here is a guide I did on my old mk3 Golf, same principle different platform. http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=204972.0

Won't be down until just before Christmas mate. If you can hold out til then I don't mind bringing it down with me. Alternatively I can give it to an oppo of mine and you can pick it from him? Sure he wouldn't mind and you can hold onto it for a week or so if you need mate?

Go make yourself a cuppa, and have a read of this. Some truly stunning classics. http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/158371/pics-goodwood-italiano-breakfast-club

Either a rare truthful ebay seller, or just trying too hard!??? http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=261317648361

Just pull each injector in turn and stick it in an empty transparent water bottle. Prime the engine and take a look at the spray pattern. It'll be obvious if it crap as it should be a fine mist and not dribble out like a cracked open tap. Mark the bottle where the fuel reaches and move onto the next one to compare flow rate and pattern. New seals will more than likely be needed when recurring though, but they're pretty cheap.

Haha, I know the feeling mate! For someone like me who has all the detailing gear too, I'm ashamed to say I've not even washed mine in about 6 weeks!
