As Tony said you'll need to get it done to get through MOT as its a structural area. Its very common on all cars of this vintage tbh, again as Tony said its through people jacking the car up around here. Shouldn't cost you too much to get it done properly, although if your confident with a MIG its not particularly difficult to sort yourself.

They don't have a shelf life, but chemical parts can separate after time. A good shake should see them ok again if as mentioned, they haven't turned to powder.

Hi Jon, really sorry mate but the other guy wants them and has paid for them now. Sorry to lead you on buddy but he hadn't received my PMs until today so wasn't aware I'd got back to him. Good luck with your search though mate, all the best. Sean.

VR6 South's Corrado History Another Addition p4
seanl82 replied to VR6 South's topic in Members Gallery
Did you do the welding yourself Martin? If not, where too? I asked Daren (Harrier) if he could recommend anyone with regard to bodywork, and he said the guy he uses was a bit hit and miss. Do you know anyone that you'd recommend without hesitation? -
Get in! Not a great performance, but two quality goals ensured a memorable win! COYR!!!

Improvised hanging baskets mate! Don't want to say its a bit pikey as mentioned in earlier posts, she's Irish and has a caravan! She's one of the nicest people your ever likely to meet tbh, so I just smile at it all!

Ha ha, it was indeed! Thought that was you behind me in the VRS, but couldn't see properly! It takes me five minutes to drive into work, eight minutes to cycle, and 25 to walk. No brainer really.

Yep, all were straight and true, no vibrations or anything at speed. :thumbleft:

Here are the Pics as promised. All wheels have very minor kurbing that isn't really any deeper than the paint itself. The odd bit that is deeper is only very slight, and a rub down will sort this easily which they could do with ideally. As you can see there is corrosion on all from the kurbing marks and from old balance weights, but again its not structural or very deep at all. If you look at my members gallery I only bought them to pass the MOT a few months ago, but I gave them a deep clean and sealant at the time so although they're a little dirty in the pics, they are very clean underneath, and I'll clean em up before sending so they're ready to go straight away. First is the one with a slow puncture that I forgot to mention, sorry! Its still on the car atm as my new (used) set of RX228s have a flat on the same one which I'm getting replaced Tomorrow. As said there is cracking of the rubber around the edge of the tread and between the pattern, and was an MOT advisory. Second is one with a good tyre on, and has around 6mm tread left. Third is another good tyre, again with around 6mm tread left. Last one again has good tread, but this one has cracks in between the pattern all the way around and was an MOT advisory as well. Here you can see the tread on all three that are off. You may be able to see some of the cracking on the tyre on the one on the left although pics are cameraphone and not great, sorry!. I ran these tyres like they are for around 500 miles including a trip to Bristol and back including the National Day at Castle Combe with fast(ish) parade laps, and they were faultless. Obviously with the cracks they could do with changing, but I wouldn't say they were dangerous or anything. Let me know if they are any good buddy, and we can arrange for courier etc if the other guy doesn't want them. Best Regards, Sean.

Yeah thats what I'm talking about mate. I'll stick up some pics in a sec.

I have a set that I offered to somersetdub but he hasn't got back to me Jon. All have very slight curbing but its just paint that has come off, and all have a bit of corrosion where old balance weights have been. All have tyres although none are matching, and two are were advisories on MOT due to cracking between the tread. All have good tread though and I think are safe. (I ran them for around 500 miles like that without ill affect. I'll PM somersetdub again, but he doesn't get back to me and if you want them, they're yours for £60 plus postage which would be around £40 I believe.

Sorry buddy, all is fair in love and Cups though! Bristol City vs Rovers tonight in the JPT, really looking forward to this with a few beers! Lets continue the bragging rights, and have one over the gas heads! COYR!!!

Corrado Heat Shield Hood Liner (New Group Buy)
seanl82 replied to Southie's topic in Forum Group-Buys
If there are any left, or if there is enough interest in another GB, I'd like a VR one without emblem too please! -
I'd go with what you've suggested. You won't notice any difference what so ever during normal road use on the rears.

Thanks Rob! :thumbleft: In other news, seat covers now in with re-trimmer for the bolsters to be repaired. Four sections replaced with Jag Mag (Jaguar Magnolia Leather) which was the closest texture we could find. Not sure when they'll be ready as I told them there is no rush, so guessing a week or so. Good little industrial estate I didn't know existed with a panel beater, CNC machinist, metal polisher, re-trimmer, and head rebuild specialist which could all come in handy in the future! Once all that is back, I'll get it all fitted, then recolour the entire interior with the furniture clinic kit, fit the 288's to the front and I'll be really happy! It'll then be all hands to the pump compiling parts ready for respray. A couple more pics of the wheels, I was a tad unsure when I first put them on, but I absolutely love them now and I'm really happy. Excuse it being filthy, its been sat on the drive and not washed for 5 weeks now! No pics of the other side, as its still got a speedline on the front! New tyre being fitted tomorrow to the other RX228. I'll get some pics up once the interior is back together although the new colour is a bit off. Like I said though I'll be recolouring it so all good. :thumbleft: Oh yeah, looking at the pic reminds me I also need a splitter! And Daves short shift kit..........

WTF! I dont even know what your saying!

I wasn't aware of the Matt, thanks for correction. :thumbleft:

Link to the wiki with which standard brakes fit and what is involved. I'd do a bit more research to ensure they are a direct replacement. Bear in mind that standard TT 312mm brakes require at least 17" wheels to fit over them. http://wiki.the-corrado.net/312mm_brakes.html

Pics hide alot of defects, but paintwork looks reasonably good. Will it not clean up with a good detail? Agree with you on the smoothed front end, but looks like it was pretty well cared for previously. Welcome and congrats on your purchase! :thumbleft:

Are there no plastic tabs on the back of the badge that slot through the rear panel and are attached by the blue retaining plugs?

Oh you bugger! I was bidding on them too and you pipped me at the last second! They're my colour too! :bad-words: :thumbleft: -
You could even deal in Summer and Winter affairs! Double layered bobble tops for winter, single nylon layer with a Bermuda-esque motif for Summer! Sell them on ebay as "rare" and make an absolute mint!

Preferred the similar item link on the right with "sexy sarah in 800bhp mk2 golf". :norty:

That'd be the larger battery, so the larger cover. ;)
