  2. Congrats robrado974 Mine passed today too  with the usual advisories, rear bearing play (I replaced brake cables calipers pads discs and bearings 6 weeks ago! ) and drivers top mount play.....with the car jacked up :camp: . Sorted 8)
  3. It's a solid rod behind the doorcard, you may find dropping the lock mech and dowsing it good and proper with wd40 or similar cleans/lubes it so the spring is more effective. You made find that 'tweaking' the rod and shortening it a bit helps but I'd lube it first, unless you want to take the door card off!!
  4. If you've got no leaks then the seals have prob gone in one of your clutch cylinders. Mine had shot seals in the master cylinder so i got that done and the slave done as well as a precaution.
  5. To be honest fla if you're going to the effort of going to 6.5" speakers and an amp you should use a decent quality speaker cable or it'll be a waste. You'll be running RCA leads and power cables so to put in 2 pairs of speaker cable should be simple enough. The door speaker cables go through the door rubber concertina thingie and the tweeters are accessible even with big hands, just run both left/right sets of speaker cable from each left/right terminal on the amp (bi-wire) job done. Depending on how big the amp is and the heat it produces you could mount it in the passenger footwell with a bit of a raised floor, with a set of mats no-one will notice the carpet not quite sitting right. I've a PPI amp in my footwell and that gets hot but it's been fine with this set up no need for fans.....2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfBlack PPI (Large).jpg[/attachment:279km4z5]White PPI_Grill (7) (Large).jpg[/attachment:279km4z5]

To be honest the side lights are for parking at the side of the road - when you're parked facing oncoming traffic legally you should leave the side lights on beause your rear reflectors are redundant hence the name. If it's dark while you're driving you should have your dipped beam on anyway. Anyhow dim-dip resistor is the yellow thing outboard of the battery on the left inner wing, you can un plug it rather than cut wires 8)
  11. There's a connection in the rear washer hose on the left about level with the rear shelf supports but behind the C-pillar (both need to be removed) mine was leaking there. Reconnected it properly and then wirelocked it on, never leaked from there since. 8) All this chat about anti-bacterials? Mould is a fungus, use some fungicide!!!
  12. Salesmen Talking Sh!te Shocker!!   No offence to any salesmen really intended!!
  13. That really is a scary photograph. I don't think I ever quite appreciated how utterly huge the new Scirocco actually is. A pretty shape, but what a tank. Relatively its not though, the old Rocco and Corrado are pretty small. I notice this when its parked at work next to newer cars. Purely because all modern cars are bloaty monsters? Like the new Daleks, :pukeright:
  14. update : Cheers g60jaime I replaced the cables a couple of weeks ago and in doing so realised that that crome clip just undid! No probs from them since - I also did the front pads at the same time and then 2 days later drove to Waterloo in Belgium and back with 3 up and kit. No issues to report, 8) Result! Cheers again
