  1. Sorry in a delayed response, i've been away. I got the 280s in the first group buy on here. At the time it was mentioned that gwerks would be able to supply the eurospec grooved and cross drilled discs, that said I recently gave up trying to place an order for some other kit from gwerks as they never got back to me, I guess they are very busy.
  2. Excellent, sounds like I've got everything I need then thanks  big week next week, 263 cams, 312 & 280 brakes with braids + dot5.1, all new bushes, new chains, new clutch, 4 wheel alignment 8)
  3. Hi all, I've read all the threads and searched but can't answer my question. Apologies if I've not looked hard enough. I'm about to have my TT calipers and the 280 rear conversion put on tomorrow, but I am not sure I've been supplied the right parts. The garage I got the goodridge braided lines from said I need the Golf VR6 6 line kit then use the banjo bolts fromt he mk4/tt calipers (which I have too). But now I have my doubts as so many variations of kits get mentioned in the threads, can anyone confirm? Thanks in advance :notworthy:
  4. I've been supplied a 6 line golf vr6 kit, is this right? I'm told I just use the bolts from the mk4 calipers with these lines? :confused4:
  5. How likely is it that the flywheel needs doing too when changing the clutch after 100,000 miles? :confused4:
  6. Couldn't see any pics of a cross member attached install, so here is some of mine: 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfmocal.jpg[/attachment:qwnwuynp]DSC01503sm.jpg[/attachment:qwnwuynp]
  7. I wish I had your time and patience, a nice trio of motors you have too. Loving the white one on dark rims, for me I think removing the rub strips down the side would set it off nicely - perhaps a photochops in order 8)
  8. Well for me, I love the way it feels (she's got soul) and I love the way it looks. I guess there is a small part of me thats at a loss where I would go from here as nothing quite ticks all the boxes. I often used to think about swapping it for something more modern, a desire for keeping the Storm's mileage low and having some new comfort and blar blar blar. But following a service, a valet, some track time and a few quiet b road blats, I realised selling her would be a huge mistake. Maybe i've been lucky with so few issues, if that changes then I may think again. Perhaps I'll get something newer and with a CG V8 one day, but until that day I have the car I want to drive daily 8) [sup:ufrnlm9k]Current 'To do List' count: 32[/sup:ufrnlm9k]
  9. Hard to say, I'd say that if you paid £3,400? thats kind of the market value but I doubt it would make much difference to say go for £4000 interms of insurance premiums. Perhaps worth trawling to see what other similar mileage G60s are going for. Unique paint, like yellow, is a double edge sword, priced at a premium for its rarity yet perhaps reduces its potential customer base (I like the Nuggets!). Also be careful of the small print of the insurance, often the value just determines the Max pay out for a total loss... that doesn't mean they will actually pay it without a fuss! Keep as much detail about it as poss, all the work/photos etc. Don't know about anyone else but I want to see some pics on a members thread 8)
  10. Hello and welcome! Should be: Roof strips Left 535 853 705 01C Right 535 853 706 01C Rear caps for roof strips Left 535 853 719 01C Right 535 853 720 01C £33 a side for strips and 1.50 for the caps. I'd use http://www.gpcvwaudi.com/ Don't think Nugget Yellow was ltd, but it certainly isn't common. 8)
  11. They look like they are part of the dash like the trip and MFA to me, anyone got a picture?
  12. oh, every day's a school day! thanks :salute:
  13. I've seen a LHD rado on autotrader that had a slightly different dial layout to any I have seen before. There was an LCD panel in the tachometer. Whats this for and does anyone have a picture (it had gone off autotrader before I could copy them) Cheers.
  14. Its just the 280 conversion kit through Gwerks, I think I'll go Pagid FR rear and Ferodo Front. Looking forward to it! I'll give Badger5 a call. 8)
  15. Does it matter if the bolts have a shank or not? Also for clarification for all, the wiki states 10.9 rated bolts, but people tend to be opting for 12.9. Is this a belt and braces approach or has there been any issue with 10.9? Likewise for clarification, washers seem to be out of favour for something more substantial for a spacer. Question is, is this over kill?
  16. £200 was for front and rear... still a lot of dollar.
  17. doh, would help if I read it right! :brickwall: So now I just need to talk myself into parting with £200 for pads  , going to sleep on that one..
  18. Yeah, thats where I saw the note about the DS2500 and not for road use, Balance seem to sell the yellow stuff as a DS2500 alternative for the road? but then I wonder if its more like the DS2000? Especially given the tiny price by comparison ds2500 being 2-3 times the price of yellow stuff. Blurb on the DS2500/Yellow Stuff: http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/products.asp?category=Brakes&subcategory=Trackday+Sprint+and+Hillclimb+Pads
  19. What about the DS2500 not actually being E marked?
  20. Is there an ultimate brake discussion thread? seems to be an ultimate thread for most things but I couldn't find one for brakes.. Anyway, what I was really after was finding out what everyones latest views on choice of Pads was? I am running (or will be) 312 fronts and 280 rears. On standard brakes I've used std vag pads and pagid FRs. FRs are ok but I'm tempted to get something with a little more bite for very occasional track time however, most my miles is steady commute with an occasion stab on the brakes for round abouts so I'm not keen on having to get heat into them. Short list: Pagid FRs Mintex xtreme Ferodo DS Perfrormance (Formally DS2000) - Street legal fast road Ferodo DS2500 - Are these actually legal on the road? Thanks all! 8)
  21. Not quite today as I've been away but. half downgraded my headlights, uprated loom after a couple of year is being an pain in the exhaust! so pulled the plugs on it. Finally hit 100,000 miles...
  22. Last few laps here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z23lx6MDiLI Technically he followed the rules, but would he have got the run on him into the next corner that he did if he hadn't have took a shortcut. I am not sure how this penalty can stay enforced looking at the rules but how often have we seen a penalty overturned. However, it does look like the powers that be will do anything to make the title chase very close for viewing figures but ultimately hand it to Ferrari, they've much bigger profits to share with bernie and Max :hitler: than mclaren have afterall :ignore:
  23. I like the way after he had scrubbed off nearly all his speed sideways and someone helpfully says "just don't hit the armco" classic.
  24. wtf, they shouldn't be driving there, oh so lucky they didn't kill the car or worse. I bet for that one video of a lucky escape there a few hundred that scattered car parts everywhere :-)
