Does anyone have any contact details for Toby t700bes ? I messaged about helping with Admin work and get the forum fixed - noticed he hasn't been active since August, so I emailed his work account, it bounced.

I started the exact same process with NUFOX, on closer inspection they were not ideally suited to making a rubber with the metal inners as per the scraper. Also they would ultimately they would have to cut my new samples up to get it right! They have been trying on my behalf to contact the original manufacturer without luck, would take a lot of pain from process if tooling still exists. Starting a fresh, the moulding and minimums will indeed be expensive... I was willing to take a risk on that but would be much better if a company did :-) I've asked them for the details of the manufacturer and I'll post up here so that we are not covering the same ground twice. You won't be stepping on any toes, we all have a common goal and working together would be for the best :-)

I'll take a pair too please, I'm still chasing the company who said they could make them but not holding my breath!

Great idea, is it possible to be done as an eBook, published on Kindle? Then can forum can get some money and updates can be made periodically? For those wanting wiki pages, I have managed to access some of them using the way back machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20130313102124/http://wiki.the-corrado.net/heater_matrix_replacement.html The home page has no menu on the wiki, but if you click sitemap on here:https://web.archive.org/web/sitemap/http://wiki.the-corrado.net/the_corrado_buying_guide_checklist.html Then can select sub pages on outer of the blue wheel... If you find any links in the forum to old wiki pages you can just put them straight into way back machine and with a bit of luck they'll load. If resurrection of old Wiki isn't practical, I'd happily look at an alternative solution we can contribute to? And port over any content we can find.

Just wondering if there is any update on the next steps? More than happy to keep donating and could probably help with some technical and moderator duties if required. I'm with the majority on this that it is a priceless source of information that needs preserving however, basic functionality needs resolving and ultimately has to work financially... I'm very grateful for all the efforts of Admins, Mods and members, past and present... today I'm taking my dash out and the forum was my first stop. It's a shame CCGB and this forum couldn't work together, I'm paid up on both but the CCGB forum will never be as useful or active as this one... that ship sailed a long time ago IMO.. Knowledge here is best, CCGB on the other hand has the community edge. It would be useful to know the costs involved for the forum so we know what we are up against: Annual hosting/support/maintenance Any Licencing? Upgrading platform to a current version Getting Wiki working Resolving Image issues Tapatalk We can then address how we can help the Admin raise it... donations, paid areas, any sponsorship possibilities or pay per view model at the extreme (view 3 threads a month then require micro payments - a few local papers do this now - 5p an article, never pay 25p a month type thing) Would be great to be as open as possible but most similar sites have found closing classifieds to paid only is a good start. It's a delicate balancing act to not drive away visitors to an extent where paid users dwindle. If you are thinking about more than just forum, perhaps it's something that can be white labeled (for other Marques) to grow the platform and share costs that way - I appreciate the challenge in that would not be insignificant! Corrado's owners are a small and shrinking community, but it is an enthusiastic one... who feast on brave pills and surprise bills :-) . I dearly hope this forum can stay around a very long time!

I've now had a meeting with the company who are doing the body work and pretty much decided that dipping the shell is actually for the best. In terms of cost, the dipping isn't going to add a huge percentage, it does remove some labour for them in some ways but adds in others. Ultimately not dipping leaves a few concerns about longevity of certain areas, particularly where repairs are needed between inner and outer rear arches and under the scuttle panel. My main concern and reluctance was the effort required by me to remove the final bits from the shell and put them back! but will have to man up on that front! Now feel like I've tripled the budget and timescale, but will have a better than new car that will probably last longer than the original :-) -
Thank you, I think I've sourced a new drivers side, when it arrives I'll send it off for a quote, if they can't flip then I'll message you about the other one. No idea how long the process will take. Cheers
-
Classic parts responded: I can´t tell you if or when we reproduce the part. We are in cantact wit he former factory and we are waiting for a response. I'll pick up the driver's side and at least get a quote, then have it if they don't go back into production formally.
-
My concern too about classic parts getting production going! Anyone got a good one to template? I'm awaiting an update from classic parts but will try to price up a clone in the mean time.
-
It's the UK Near side that is NLA, left as sit in it.. I said left and not N/S to not confuse those who drive on the wrong side seems I failed!
-
Checked with Heritage, not Classic Parts... will do that now.
-
Hi All, I've started making enquiries about getting a production run of window scrapers done, in particular the left side as it is NLA. Does anyone have a new one (or very good one) tucked away they are will to lend me to have the tooling produced? - or just sell to me. Would there be much interest in this? Until they have seen the part, they cannot be sure it is possible (without a prohibitive cost) or indeed give me a price. I'd have to stump up the costs for tooling and order enough units to make their minimums. I've no interest in profiting from this, but I also don't want to be stuck with a load of them! Cheers

It's been some time since my last post about my Storm so here is an update! My Storm has barely turned a wheel in recent years, after a few minor issues with it and a somewhat hectic life its only moved as I have moved house a few times. My previous restoration hasn't lasted, while it runs very well and is solid, the paintwork is an absolute mess to the point you can peel it. Lesson learned about who you let near your car to prep and spray it! Now I'm fortunate to have the space to embark on restoration again and with the help of a friend we've dismantled the car in the region of 50 hours. After a debate of dipping the shell and since inspecting further I've elected not to go down the dipping route. The restoration will be far more comprehensive than last time and it will be close to as good as new but never concourse, I just don't do garage queens... Cars are to drive and enjoy :-) Spec wise, pretty much as before when I was happy with it. I don't need more power and I won't be taking this one on the track. I'm sure everyone has seen plenty of dismantled Corrado pics, but will add a few for the record :-) -
