Btw Dox i found the old calipers from you. Might be a new project to strip and rebuild them! fla 9 Posted September 14, 2020 Went to replace the front top mounts and thought i'd check the bump stops. Should have thought about it before but they were well and truly past it! Ordered 2 but was only delivered one so have to wait for the other one. Used a Golf Mk4 one from Febi part number 18365. I also had some Poly bushes but not sure if they were for the front or back. Anyway, decided against using them here might check the rear ones though. The top mounts didnt look too bad, tbh and the bearings were fine too but i think it was perhaps not a bad option. Planning to put it across the slam panel about midway to get a horizontal reference and then take measurements from there. Not sure how to adjust toe though. I guess it should be slightly toe-in? Im learning this myself right now as fed up taking my car to garages and ending up with steering at an angle when going straight. As I understand it to get toe you need to form a box around the car and take measurements. There are some relatively inexpensive tools to help. seanl82 23 Posted September 14, 2020 Bentley says -1° for camber. When I had mine done on a Hunter though, the system said -1.5°. fla 9 Posted September 22, 2020 Found 2 more annoying rattles - the d/side window.motor against the door skin. Thin piece of neoprene sheet and its gone. Plus some adhesive felt behind the door pull. fla 9 Posted November 6, 2020 Tbh it only took about half an hour all in. Once the clips around the cage were pushed in it was quite easy. But that cage edge is really sharp so gloves were needed to edge it off. Just need to fit a flying lead for each end of the horn connectors Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I had to make up a panel that bolted to the back of the wheel so it used the same slip ring as the corrado, problem was it then covered the holes to pop the airbag panel off, so dont forget before you pop the airbag on 😉 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'm thinking of cutting some nylon spacers to attach to the ring so it maintains the gap. I believe the ring floats comfortably but haven't got to that bit yet! No doubt there will be some issues! The other mistake was the hole made for the slip ring extension arm is slightly out of position.
