Are you sure you want to know?

I'm just 53 yrs young, next milestone in July.

D'oh D'oh and double D'oh.

OK, not short sighted, just prematurely senile... or most stooopid.

And, you know, I re-read the whole thread again just before I posted...

Chris.

VR6storm - have to agree, the series 1 RS is one of my all time favourites!! ive had 4 of them in total, each one better than the last.

If i could afford one as a toy - i would have one in a flash!! They are sooooo much fun for relatively little expense. I nearly bought one instead of the corrado but they are not an everyday car! as i said, if i could afford one for a track car i would defo have one.

I co owned a 3 door cos with the girl i was seeing about 6 years ago - but lost both the girl and my license

most recently though i had a 2wd saph - great fun - but not at all practical, and u need VERY deep pockets to keep em in tip top condition.

unfortunately i dont have very deep pockets - but hey, i'm VERY happy with my new corrado!!

hi people - my first post.

Had a 1.3 mk2 golf at 17, looked sweet like a gti. I bloody miss that car even though it struggled to keep up with my mates 1.1 fiesta!

Got my Corrado 1.8 16v at 19, turn 20 next week. Just had fk coilovers put on, taken 17s off - scrubbing. Alloys - decisions, decisions :?

Anyone else got a 'Quartzite metallic' C. Apparently very rare according to my local VAG

I drove my Mums Rover 214i till the week before i turned 20 then bought a 216 gti. 4 months later I bought my first C 2.0 16v and its looking like next week I could also own a VR6.

Unfortunately it will be locked away till I sell the 16v so if anyone is looking for one then this is a blatant attempt to point out the links in my sig. :D

You know when you get photos done, the labs can put 'em on CD for a quid or two... Then you can put them on the forum :)

No need for a digital camera or scanner then 8)

Hmmm, 26 now (not for much longer (in fact a month today)).

at 21 i had a 1990 black Golf Gti cabriolet with G60 arches and 17" Oz F1's. Looked surprisingly like my 1992 black corrado G60, soon to have 17" rims of some sort.... Also had, mk1 golf and Mk3 golf. Good old VW's...

I'm 27, 28 in October...

First car :?: was a VW camper (bay window) lowered 180mm! with a porsche engine in it... Never got to drive it on the road 'cos the insurance company just laughed and hung up... Think they were a bit scared when an assessor came out to see it for agreed value and saw it wheeley!  8)

I then bought a beetle which I never got around to finishing and sold at a huge loss...

Bought a MKI golf GTI at 18 which got written off while parked a month later so I bought a MKI 1500 Auto golf off a mate instead... Kept this for a long time, but also bought another MKI GTI at 19 and plonked a 16V engine in it for a giggle when the original engine expired in a rather large way! (a conrod made a bid for freedom and became external! )

I got my first Corrado (Tornado Red '90 16V) at 22 and had that for 2 years until I met some diesel on a wet corner and bent the chassis...

A '90 MKII GTI SHED followed briefly (and expensively!) then an Astra 1.4 Merit... I never did find any merit to the car other than it being cheap! And it spoiled my perfect VW history!

Now got my G60 and am starting to throw money back at my MKI 16V to get her back on the road as well as at the C... 8)

21 at the moment, modded MK Golf Driver, own a Mk1 which i'm doing up for track days and had a Mk1 Scirocco storm when i was 19, superb car, much fun.

Roddy, your generation had it easy with insurance did they not?? and was it about that time that all the Hot Hatch's started getting stolen?

Need a history lesson :D

Some of the boys i know are paying silly premiums for there car. I was quoted £3500 fully comp as the cheapest for my Mk1 with the tuned engine in it. A few years older now though and the car is still not finished. How long to projects take, seems like yesterday i was driving the Mk1 home!

at21 i had a 1990 16v big bumper mk2 golf! wish i still had it somtimes....

Nice car, my dad had one when i was younger and a few friends have them now. They are still paying about £900 TPFT

Any of you had any scary quotes?

Mods - Can we have a private "over 30's only" thread please so we can reminisce about Rubik's Cubes, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran and top mullet-type hairstyles?

Hmmm, maybe I was a little off the mark then, I'm 36 and was just thinking back to "the good old days" when I was 13/14/15 ish at school - that was 1980/1/2 ....

I was 0,1,2 in 1980/1/2 so i cant really remember when Rubix cube was released but i was in that whole 80's era as a young fella.

Lets hope it doesnt come back to haunt us, noone really wants to relive the 80's dress sense :)
