Might just be a matter of having it re-gassed. Sounds likely given everything seems to be working correctly.

Thanks for the compliment GIXXERUK  Red's a bit of a nightmare to keep though. Takes loads of polishing to keep it from fading  Dan A few friends and I are arranging a Rolling Road day for the Saturady 28th August. It would be nice to have another VR there to compare stats with 8)

People keep asking me if my wheels are 17's so I don't think you'll have a problem.

I'm using 205/45/R16's Kev. Handles well without being too hard on comfort.

Did the Galaxy use the 2.8 VR6 engine then? Suppose it would have done. They must have an Aux Water Pump too, can't imagine the Galaxy's engine bay is any bigger than the Corrado's. Therefore it must also run quite hot. Any Ford part no's out there?

Ok, Priced these today. VAG - £72.24 inc VAT. (with 15% discount) GSF - £68.31 + VAT (Bosch Part) In the end went for.... Eurocarparts - £56.58 inc VAT (with staff discount) Euro also had one in stock, which was nice. :)

Anyone know the Ford part number for a VR6 ABV code engine? Or if this is available elsewhere?
-
Should we combine a list of parts common between the Ford and VW VR6 parts bin? Or is it generally just ALL VR6 engine bits, since the Sharan and Galaxy are the same vehicle (nearly)

"Borrowed" from the http://www.vage.ie forum..... First pic had the caption "Somebody shot my Corrado!!" :D

I had similar problems with mine. Straight through exhaust was on the car when I bought it. On closer examination the Lambda sensor was a cheap generic one that had been shoved into a hole on the exhaust. Constantly throwing up errors in VAG-COM. My mate, who knows a fair bit about VW's explained that the only one to fit is a genuine one. Something to do with the length of the wires on the generic ones, giving the wrong the resistance and thus incorrect readings. Anyway, got one from VAG somewhere in the region of £75 IIRC. G60 one might be different. Took 10mins to fit and I've had no bother since.

Beautiful! 8) 8) Pics taken at Castlewellan if I'm not mistaken. What's the name of that shade of blue? It looks luverly

I hate you! I bought the same brands of wheels and tyres new 4 months ago. I hanggled and haggled until I got the price down to £700. £410! Lucky git! If you wanna see what they look like on a C. Take a look at mine in the Gallery. BBS wheels are real quality and have a lovely finish.

Gary Crawford just off Tenent St. He already knows the car and isn't hard to pay. 02890757519 Make sure you ask him for the best price for a "good" job rather than his "cheapest" price.

Take it you found a suitable motor in the end then. What's she like boy? :D

Excellent idea Dinkus! 8) 8) It'll be very handy to have one central pool of information when fixing all those little niggles. :)

I was meant to be on the stand. Unfortunately, I had to go into feckin' work this morning and I'm still here. Though, looking out the window, maybe that's no bad thing. A tad wet methinks! :D

Hey Pablo, I'm in Bangor but I work in Belfast. Guess it's a bit late now, you've probably bought your VR6. I'm sure you're very happy with it too. Drop me a PM if you wanna chat.

Before I bought my VR6 I had a good look at the 20V Turbo Coupe. Very similar to the Corrado in that all the car magazines gave them great write ups. They handle as well as a Corrado and are very fast. Often referred to as the common man's Ferrari, they are not the usual Fiat rubbish. Of course the Corrado is the common man's Porsche They've even got a Forum too.... :D http://www.fccuk.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php Gotta agree with Pablo on all the points above. Believe me, it was a close run thing but I opted for the VR6 in the end. 8) 8)

Hi Stu, Thanks for the offer of a Group Buy. 8) I'd be interested in the Focal front components. Do these come with crossovers? Also, rather than 6x9's which involve cutting holes in my parcel shelf (new one's near £200), do Focal do a speaker that will fit the existing speaker surounds, think they're 6x4 IIRC. I've an amp at the moment running a Bazooka sub, so base isn't really a concern. What sort of prices are we talking? Cheers Mike

Hmmm, Think I'll give it a wee clean then :) Thanks guys! 8)

Yup that's the error... "G28 Vehicle Speed Sensor - No Signal" He's a qualified VW techy, so he knew to test it with the engine going :) £140 is a bit pricey, don't suppose you have the VW or Bosch part no Phat?
