Early '94 Corrado VR6 Aqua Blue Pearl Black Leather Interior Just over 40,000 Full VW Service History 1 owner from new Elderly retired gentleman has owned it from new. Very seldom drives it as he has an MGB for the summer and his wife's TDI Golf as a daily driver. Car is absolutely mint and original. I saw it in Sainsburys car park last week and left my details under his wiper. Turns out he lives about 1 mile away. He's offered me a drive sometime, but isn't interested in selling at the moment. He's recently fitted a Cat 1 Alarm to it as last year some guys broke into his house and stole the keys while he slept. Couldn't get the garage open though! If he ever were to sell, what sort of dough would be right??
-
The quality isn't too bad, fairly robust. It's about the size of a yale key. 8) My mate's borrowed my camera so I can't take any pics :( Just a matter of registering with E-Bay and paying the seller via Paypal. Dead easy. :D

Pretty sure that's correct. When the handbook was written G12+ wouldn't have existed. So, assuming the letter denotes the various revisions of the coolant then... B = G11 C = G12 D = G12+ The coolant system will have to be flushed when they replace the radiator on Friday anyway, so running the wrong coolant for a few days will be ok.

Contact VW with the chasis number and see if they can find any history on their system for you. But I agree with the rest of the guys. Tread very carefully.

Yup, I bought one. Cost me €23 including shipping. No problems with the seller, prompt delivery and all that. Not convinced the keyring was worth that sort of money though.

munkay think that was the one on Deals on Wheels. I taped it and I'm sending it to Jim to have encoded as an mpeg.
-
Ok Jim, I've got it taped. Where do I send it?
-
I've set the VCR to tape it Jim. It looked like a Storm (Blue with Black Leather) but is K reg not a bit early for one of those? English Reg's confuse me :?

Just came in from work, channel surfing. Discovery Home and Leisure K58 DEF Nice VR6 Obviously the programme's a bit old coz he was looking £8500 for it :) It's repeated at 19:00 tonight on H&L+ if someone can tape it and send it to Andy to have hosted somewhere.

Same place Kev was talking about. Lift the bonnet and look at the scuttle panel between the windscreen and engine bay. On the passenger side there's a plastic cover. If you lift this you should have a plastic grille covering the blower intake. This gets bunged up with leaves and crap and can cause water to leak into the cabin.

Find it hard to believe a NEW Sony head unit doesn't have an ISO connector on the back. :? You may need an adapter to go between the car's connector and the back of the unit. Available from Halfords or your local ICE dealer.
-
Having had my rear calipers seize last winter at a cost of £150 to replace. I now leave my car in gear with the handbrake off during these cold winter nights.
-
1/Check the little drain on the passenger side of the scuttle panel. Sometimes it gets blocked with leaves and debris. 2/Rubber seal around the windscreen can perish. If the screen's been replaced at some point it may not have been fitted correctly. 3/There should be a plastic membrane between the inside of the doorcard and the door itself. If this is damaged or missing, water will gather in the footwell. 4/Last but not least, a leaking heater matrix. If your heater's suddenly stopped blowing hot air, this is the culprit.

I recently bought 2 Corrado models (G60 and VR6) from Schabak in Germany. Cost around £55 inc delivery. Come with their own wee display plinth and case. I'll post up some pics later if anyone's interested. I'll just get me anorack
-
Andy, Please count me in also. I'll post you a cheque rather than use Paypal if that's ok. PM me with your address and to whom I should make the cheque payable. Thanks Mike

Give FastEddie a ring again John and ask him to check the CO emissions, timing etc. He has all the equipment. Don't forget to offer him a few quid ;)

Personally I'd prefer a VR6 to a G60. After-all it's the VR6 all the reviews rave about. Although I believe it's easier to tune a G60 up to 220 bhp or more. Plus, the 1.8 8v engine it uses is bombproof and easily mended when it does go. As Kev says. Just be sure and maintain the car well and you'll have few mechanical hassles. No matter which Corrado you buy, it'll still have it's little "quirks." Make sure all electics are working fine etc before buying. Where abouts in Belfast are you? Corrado's for sale are a bit thin on the ground in N.I.

Anyone good with photoshop able to do me a favour please? I've bought a private plate "B16 VWC" and would like to change my photos to reflect this. I'm completely crap with all image software  Cheers Mike

I've fitted them to mine, which has an early interior. They're a direct swap, the hardest part of fitting them is removing the door cards. Available from Trimsport they're a genuine VW part, so GPC and Steelers should be able to supply them too. Trimsport do loads of chrome bits and pieces. Pictures of my interior in the Gallery section show handbrake handle, gearknob, door pulls and door pins fitted to mine.

Hi Bugie I had similar problems myself recently. Chuck's reply on this thread will help you alot... http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... eater+heat I bought a new thermostatic valve from Eurocarparts but didn't need it in the end. Just took my old one off, thoroughly cleaned it with carb. cleaner and gave it some lube then refitted it. Heater now works a treat. New valve costs £40 or so but are easily got from scrapyards for a fraction of that. VW Part No.191 819 911 A common to most VWs of that era.

Thanks for that link to the measurements Nigel. Which ones did you buy Dan? Does the footrest fit stuggly? Cheers Mike
-
Thanks for the info Nigel. Does anyone know how much VW charged for these at the time?
-
Couple of questions regarding these: Did these come as standard on ANY Corrados or were they a cost option? If so, how much were they originally? Do they light up green like the rest of the dash? Cheers Mike
