  1. I was thinking the same about the wheel arches. But the spoiler and sunroof don't work, so it's fairly close to the real thing :)
  2. Got mine this morning. Really nice model, the detail is superb. Comparing it with my Otto G60 model they've got all the later body panels, lights and interior just right. :) I'll post pics later. Can't access Photobucket from work.
  3. Storm Owners! Come join the Corrado Storm Owners Register on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/groups/166860146735917/?fref=ts
  4. European cars got some different options. Gotta be worth the money. Unfortunately I already have Leather Recaros.
  5. https://www.facebook.com/groups/corradoclubdeutschland/?pnref=lhc Spotted these today (NOT MINE) on the German Corrado Club FB page. Thought someone might be interested. €1000 (£700) ono.
  6. Look good. Especially for around £70 all in.
  7. Great. I found something to spend my Birthday money on! :)
  8. Great episode. If you don't get too "Spottery" and point out all the little things. Can only do the Corrado and us as owners good. Can we convince them to do a G60? Start the petition now! :)
  9. Get rid of that alarm. It may not have been the culprit this time. But it's a ticking timebomb. Toad ai606 is a good job.
  10. Loads of options for aftermarket speakers which fit in the standard mounts. Hertz,Focal, MB Quart, Infinity, JBL, Rockford Fosgate to name but a few. Size wise. You have 5 and a Quarter inch in the doors, 6x4" in the rear and 4" in the dash. General consensus is to forget the rears and move the sound stage to the front if you want to retain the OEM look. The rear 6x4 mounts need a bit of fettling to fit after market speakers, they're too small for decent sound anyway. So you need to fit 6x9's in the parcel shelf (stealth shelf, do not cut the original!!) and/or a sub. Coupled with a good headunit you're in business. I fitted Hertz Components in the front and Rockford Fosgate in the rear (only brand at hand in that size the weekend I was doing it). New cabling throughout and a bit of Dynamat in the doors and rear quarter to eliminate any rattles and it sounds pretty good. Definitely an improvement on 20 year old, paper coned Nokia speakers. But not a Bass Bin if that's what you're after. I just wanted an upgrade without modifying the looks of the car and having the extra weight of a Sub and box.
  11. I had one of these in my original 16 valve. It was 12 years ago, but I vaguely remember pulling the little drawers out gently. They come out completely with a bit of a wiggle. Then I think there was a screw at the back holding it in. You'll need a torch and a long star head screwdriver to get at it.
  12. Sounds like a fetish wish list :)
  13. Andy @ http://www.trim-wizard.co.uk/ Is well respected on the Forum. He's done millions! :)
  14. I'm sure there are places near me in Cologne. But this kind of thing is pretty niche in Germany and therefore they charge an arm and a leg, whilst not necessarily doing a good job. I know that's contrary to what you would normally think of Germans. But I was already stung when I had my engine rebuilt over here by "Specialists" and they made a dog's dinner of it. Fitting the wrong sized valves and leading to another costly rebuild at Stealth. So I'd rather deal with people in my native language and who I can get a feel for. I do know a good paint shop back in Belfast (Home). They've done resprays and other work for many of my friends. But it's a bit of a trek. Kent would be better. Although with the ongoing problems at Calais, maybe it is better to catch the Rotterdam - Hull boat and drive back to N.Ireland.
  15. Yeah I think I'll leave this until the Winter :) If £200 is fair then ok. Maybe I'll just go the whole hog and get the entire car done. I fancy getting Audi door handles and the mirrors totally colour coded too.
  16. Handy for me too. Coming from Germany. Catch the Eurotunnel over and back on Le Shuttle, via Brussels. Is this them? http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk/
  17. Exactly! Don't want to do a cheapy job. But also don't want to get ripped off. Not in a rush either.
  18. Read off the numbers on them and order the same from eBay. Shouldn't be pricey, so get 2 sets. Then just swap the connectors over and tuck everything somewhere where the water won't reach them. Had the same happen to mine a few months back, twice within a few weeks in fact.
  19. Looking for a ballpark figure to use as a yardstick on a frontend respray. - Remove wings - Strip, prime, paint second hand wings (supplied by me) - Paint bonnet and front bumper Want the best quality job. So good paint/lacquer with a good depth and insides of the wings coated with some rust preventative. Car would be delivered with the replacement wings. No prep work done by myself. Mystic Blue - LC5L
  20. The full article is only available in print. But there's a summary and some owners' tips here... http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2013/07/22/volkswagens-first-true-sports-car-buying-and-living-with-the-1990-1994-corrado/
  21. Completely rust free? Would you package and post them to Germany? I desperately need 2 clean wings before my car goes for respray.
  22. I also had this problem. Swapping the relays fixed it. Cost less than a tenner for 2 sets of 2. I always carry spares now. I think the positioning of these is important. Don't let them get wet. I tucked them inside the battery jacket now.
  23. Mine's by the sunroof switch. No problem with being heard. I think the Mics are of such quality now that it doesn't really matter where they go.
  24. I had a Toad ai606 installed about 18 months ago. It does all the stuff you've mentioned and is Thatcham Category 1 for insurance. You didn't mention where you are. But I had mine supplied and fitted by John at http://www.covics.co.uk/ Coventry. I also had an old alarm in there and the wiring was a complete mess. John spent 9 hours removing the old alarm, tidying the wiring and fitting the new one. Looked like factory when he was done. I also bought a new headunit, custom fit speakers and had the doors dynomatted by John. He always does a top job and he's not hard to pay. For the ai606, installed and fitted should be in the region of £250 - £300.
