Yeah it's pretty high. It doesn't look quite as tractor like now, but I don't think it's gonna settle any lower - http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 6&start=40 I would say if you can afford it, go for new shocks and springs all round. If the rears are dead then the fronts won't be far behind. But as I say, that's just my phiosophy. The other option is to just leave the springs for now, then do the whole car when you can afford it. The problem with that is when it comes time to lower it, you'll be chucking out perfectly good rear shocks (or in my case shocks and springs  )

Oh dear, oh dear what has been done to that poor Golf!?
-
I would if you're in there anyway, but that's just me. I wouldn't go for standard springs tho - http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... &start=160

Looking good, I must say I do like silver ones rather a lot 8) You make it sound like they're common though!!

It's available to anyone willing to cough up a few hundred quid for it, so I should hope most garages have it. Certainly VW specialists will. It's worth having a look on the VAG-COM post to see if anyone in your area has got it - http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7209

You do it, I'll post it :)
-
Sounds like it probably is working then.
-
Yeah, but the reason it's so cheap is because it's the same car that they've been making for the last 20yrs that has had no development work done on it apart from a slightly revised body every now and then.

I would like to refer the honourable doctor to the (ironic) idiocracy of American car manufacturers.

 Seriously?!?

Brasso will buff out light scratches, it works on CD's at least...

It's like being in vague control of a blamonge

Oh dear. The only display thing (apart from the boring track details one) that I thought was mildly watchable was the 2 VDU's 8) In fairness I haven't ever watched more than about 3 seconds of the dolphins or fighter jets things though.

90 degree intersections don't count ;) Although I must say when I was in Canada (ok ok not USA, but it's got the same kinda roads) the roads winding their way into up the Rockies looked like they were pretty good fun.

Technically called 'viral marketing'.. they 'accidentally' release some adverts that were 'banned' from TV and all of a sudden everyone is talking about it...
-
No such thing as a free lunch eh? ;)
-
Unfortunately not :( You can have fighter jets though?! And I did take a picture of mine in non-bling mode, but I didn't get home til gone midnight (not work related!! :D ) so I didn't get a chance to put the picure up. I'll do it tonight tho, promise ;)

You can test the MAF... Start the car up and let it idle for a min or 2 Unplug the MAF If it immediately starts coughing and spluttering then the MAF is OK, so plug it back in. If nothing at all happens, then your MAF is dead and that'll be another £150 please.

There doesn't seem to be much difference in the sound qualit between the Alpine and Pioneer ones, so I got the Pioner purely because I liked the look of them better. I'll take a pic of my 7600 in 'non bling' mode for you when I get home :)
-
It's a Storm, keep it standard 8)
-
Is it yours then ;)

I got a Pioneer DEH-7600MP from cel-direct for £200 last week and it's very good. It's a bit Christmas tree like to start with, but you can turn the flashy crap off. It's got pretty much the same internals as the P77MP and I prefer it as it's not as silver and bling.
-
Neither have I, but the latest one turned up last week 8)

also be as well changing the rear bearings and depending on how crusty they are the rear ABS rotors(approx £8+vat ea) Yup, definitely worth while. The bearings are pressed into the disks, so if you're changing the disks, it's a whole lot easier to do the bearings too. New ones press in pretty easily too. You're also likely to have rusted ABS cages and/or bend them when you take them off, so again worth doing. If you're feeling flush, you could also go for some Mk4 calipers too, then you'll get a fully functioning handbrake. You'll also need the Mk2->Mk4 conversion hoses. The whole lot is about £200 from C&R.

I would guess that VAG-COM won't pick up anything to do with the AC as it was dealer fit...
