I just thought I'd rub it in....wait no, err err I thought I'd share..no! uhhh  As if this thread wasn't bad enough with just the title

I've noticed a slurping, gurgling type noise coming from the passenger footwell after I stop the engine. It only seems to happen when the engine has been fully warmed up though. I still get head and no clouds of steam from the heater vents (not that I've noticed), but is it signs of a dying heater matrix?

It might be worth dropping Darren (g-man) a PM to see if he can help you out... *mod edit - corrected Daz's name for you - Henny*

WISHBONE x2 £ 43.76 BALL JOINT x2 £ 13.56 from http://www.vwspares.co.uk/ the wishbones come with the bushes allready fitted as it saves a lot of hastle Ah cheers, could be a worthwhile investment.

The passenger headrest on my cloth Recaros rattles too... but it's just another one of many rattles that needs sorting out
-
The standard VAG steel is pretty good stuff, but it's not a cheap option... I went for VAG disks and Pagid FR pads all round and I think the total came to £250ish for the lot. And coolrado, how much did the wishbones, bushes and ball joints set you back? I'm thinking of replacing them on my C...

£100 sounds a bit steep for a re-charge...should be more like £75 from a proper air con specialist. (Don't go do the dealer, because they'll just take it to the air con specialist then mark up the price for you  ) The worst it could be... hmmm leaking seals in the system? No idea how much that would cost to fix though. It is highly likely that it just needs re-gassing though. I would be inclined to ask the seller to have it re-gassed before you buy it. Then if the air-con works, you'll take it. If not then you'll need to come to some agreement. At least that way you know what you're letting yourself in for and the seller can boast fully working air con.

Any idea on price/part numbers?

Plus, the harder you rev it, the quicker you're gonna lunch your timing chains/tensioner....
-
Yup, everyone does - that's where you put the bolt to relieve the tension on the tensioner pulley. If there is a bolt in there then take it out because you'll have no water pump or alternator!

Andy Brookes's Satin Silver VR6, its last journey...boohoo
dinkus replied to Andy Brookes's topic in Members Gallery
Sounds like you got them just in time! 8) Good job I posted those Canada pics up when I did eh? ;) -
You would have known about it if they weren't Corrado seats because you wouldn't have fitted them in ;) I'm sure someone can say for definite for you though. Adrian Flux, Chris Knott, HIC and quite a few others do good deals on C insurance too, take a look at the car insurance contacts sticky for more names and numbers :)
-
Was probably B4LJX from here ;)
-
Blimey that leather is in good nick, but as VR6 says, they're not Recaros. Nice choice of head unit too 8)
-
Looks good mate, get some pics of that leather up too tho ;)

I think you'll find it's called nice gay violet...

Yah, but which of those 2 cars looks cooler...? :D

I'm no G60 expert but... 1. Because when you've got stuff spinning round at a few thousand rpm it tends to wear out after a while. Re-building seems to just involve replacing bearings and seals though. You have to remember that Cs are now all 10+yrs old so any rubber and plastic parts they have are going to start to break down a bit. Especially the bits in a charger that have been going through some pretty huge heat cycles. 2. You can, but I'm not sure how much if any difference it makes when it's in standard tune. Either way you don't get the chavvy pweeetschhh noise you do with a turbo dump valve ;)
-
Er it is, because it's such a narrow angle, it's almost an inline engine... all other V's have 2 heads ;)
-
How can it be open pit lane if you only get 2 sessions per hour? Still not bad for £95 tho
-
If I'd remembered to get my camera out I would have done, but it's really not very difficult. I'll take pictures of what it looks like under the car now and write it up :) yeah probably  And they are definitely the right suspension parts, if anybody has got the latest Sprinter (arrvied this week) then take a look at the ride height of the concourse C at the back ;)
-
Rhein (sp?) which means inline in German ;)

I feel your pain, I've spent about £1.5k on repair work alone in my first 3 months of ownership. I've spent another £1k on cosmetic stuff too and I still have a wish list of parts totalling over £1k....
