And I see someone has been busy photchopping their new wheels on ;)
-
Did someone forget to take their medication today??
-
But in fairness, pretty much every single moving component of his car has been replaced... apart from the clocks! :D

The closest there is to a Haynes manual is the Bentley (not the car maker!) manual which only covers the US-spec C's. You can get them on amazon.com I think, and they do pop up on ebay from time to time. Some people also have a CD-ROM based electronic version too. If you can't get your hands on that, a Mk2 Golf Haynes will see you through a fair amount of the work, but I can't tell you exactly what.
-
Heh heh good stuff :D Keep up the good work!
-
Yeah sorry, don't worry. The only one that comes in 'big' is Corrado. Everything else is small :)
-
 great stuff :D
-
C should be fixed by then... I'm gonna try and get the new serpentine belt and tensioner on as well as the new fuel filter first. Tyres are top of the list though :D The headlight loom and uprated bulbs (dammit you got me to spend money again!) is probably going to ride too and get fitted there so I can actually see on the way home lol. scruffythefirst even said he'll come... provided it's not wet....and there are no roundabouts....or corners... of any kind....and I don't go over 5mph.
-
 Still OT, but you coming to Edition 38?
-
I live in Essex mate...it's unavoidable  RS Turbo's rare in those areas are they LOL :D

Yeah mine already know me by first name and automatically give me the discount. I usually send scruffythefirst to go get the parts so it's easier for me to pay up front anyway. I don't think they've ever actually seen me or my C, but I'm going in there tomorrow to go pick up a load of parts. Corradoless though :(
-
Ahh ok, I didn't look at the date. I wonder if he's still got it... yeah hes got a nova stylee bodykit and one of them extra doors on the roof and chromoflare paint with neon door handles and tartan vinyl interior and some of them exhaust neons.........go oing for sale soon as a rare storm edition on ebay.............most probly  and 6 exhausts :D

 I hadn't realised that, that's pretty funny. Although I bet they're easier to fix

Nah it's cool. Yeah I started by going to GSF first, but my local dealer is actually really good and give me parts club prices and/or 10% discount, so it's often better to just get stuff from them. Plus I don't have to pay postage :D
-
Seven weeks ago fuel filter for my VR6 was £7.74 including VAT and with 10% discount from local VW garage. (Cant call my parts man at this garage a stealer!) Ah ok I stand corrected :D Indeed, looking at my receipts, my proper Bosch filter from GSF was £7.93 inc... so blimey, it's cheaper from the dealer!
-
Cool, so you'll fit mine as well then? :D
-
Yeah mine pops nicely too, although that could be partly related to the dying MAF, tired plugs, crappy HT leads, or dying fuel pump  oh well, good as new soon :)
-
:) My exhaust is rattling a little bit, is that too much of a tenuous reason to get a full new Milltek? Dammit, must stop spending money.
-
Saving weight?? Surely a good place to start would be the DIY dyna mat in your boot? ;)
-
Oh dear... 4 posts in and they've already mistaken a Jetta for a Corrado... muppets Edit (there will be many!):  £6700!!?!?! ohh man they saw him coming! Edit edit: Well hey I'm glad they know nothing about them and think the Golf is better, it stops numpties like them buying up Corrados and making a mess of them. If he spent all his money to buy that C and is expecting it to be as cheap as a Golf to run, he's gonna be selling it again REAL quick :D
-
I think the odds of there being only ONE thing wrong at a time with a Corrado are pretty slim... ;) That was what I was hinting at :D
-
The tensioners are oil pressure regulated rather than a spring, so it all depends on the oil. Ireckon it's all down to regular oil changes and not thrashing from cold. It's nice to see another C with headlight washers, but I must say I've never seen a C with headlight protectors! 8) Are they a VW fit jobby or after market? Shame they didn't do them for the fogs as well

If it's on the drivers side then it's almost definitely the pump! As a starting point, I would change your fuel filter, it's probably never been changed. You can get them from GSF for about £15 IIRC. That may prolong the life of your pump, but by the time it starts making a noise it's on the way out I'm afraid. The straining fuel pump is probably contributing to your crappy start up, but may not be the only factor. I'm not sure how hard it is to change yourself, but I'd get it done sooner rather than later because if it dies, you'll be stranded :) It won't damage the car if it does die though.
