I don't know if you can or not, but if you're putting 16's on, surely you want to have a lower profile tyre to keep the rolling radius the same?

My windows rattle slightly when down (i.e. they will rattle more in time), the sunroof rattles and doesn't work and the exhaust rattles at certain engine revs. But the windows seem fairly easy to fix, I'll see if they still rattle when they come back from the bodyshop. The sunroof is a pig to fix, but I'm gonna have it all out at some point and the exhaust should be fairly easy to fix too. It's just a case of giving it some TLC.

Sidelights look cool (see avatar! :) ) and I usually drive with them on in anything but perfect daylight. Fogs are saved for fog though

Yeah I've seen cameras like that used for insurance/tax catching. It was set up next to a big DVLA van at the time, which kinda gave it away :)

and some people on here are a bit anal about scanning and putting the scans on here  it's ok, if i get a copy i'll uplaod it to my webspace and you can see it then  Anal. Uhuh. So if we do get contacted about reproducing copyright material, its ok to send the complaints directly to you then? Its not being anal - I personally would love to see an onlime library of all Corrado magazine features (I have a few I could scan myself!) but I am just concerned about us getting b0llocked for it. If the material is reproduced as part of a 'fair review' then it's perfectly legal. We're obviously going to be reviewing the article so it should be fine :)

If it's making a noticable noise, it's on it's way out. You may be able to prolong it's life by puttin a new fuel filter in (only a few £ from GSF). It's probably worth changing it anyway as it's unlikely to have been changed before. Dilated ahh I thought it was you :)

Does anyone in the Reading/Berkshire area wanna try getting me a pair of VR front disks from the stealers at parts club prices? Gotta be worth a pint..! :) VAG pad set from VW are £37.86 + VAT for the VR6, so can you get the VAG parts from GSF then? Err you can get equiv. ones, but I don't know if they're exactly the same as VAG ones. But if the Pagid ones are cheaper from GSF, go for them, they're supposed to be considerably better than the VAG ones (I don't know, the first thing I did was get rid of the VAG pads :) )

There was a post on here a while ago that included a recording of a starter motor making the aforementioned screeching chicken noise. If you have a search, you may be able to find it. I have the file saved at home somewhere, so I can probably post it this evening if you can't find it. The original thread obviously will have the solution to the problem in it as well :)

Sounds like so much fun, and if you are putting the VAG bushes back in, they need pressing in properly to exactly the right position. If you get them in wrong, then you bugger the passive rear steering. It's also worth noting that the VAG rear bushes are the only ones that allow the passive rear steering to work, the Powerflex et al ones are too stiff and don't allow any movement.

lol, i always ask him though....he is probably getting sick of all my questions by now  so i thought i'd give someone else a try.... looks like i may have to pester him one more time though cheers i'll definately take pics though.... as i will when i do my tensioner pulley on saturday... be good to have a proper corrado guide for that instead of the golf one that is there at the mo. Ahh Kev loves it really ;) And yeah do it baby!! You're doing the patented PhatVR new bearing trick and not getting a new tensioner I hope?

 See my (other) local VW $tealer parts dept are fantastic, really friendly and helpful guys that give me stonking discount. They just tend to be a bit forgetful

My car has more personality than some of the "people" I work with... Oh, and she's DEFINATELY female... Tempremental, moody, often unpredictable, expensive to keep happy, takes up most of my time and attention, rewards me LOTS of pleasure and makes me feel good as well as p!$$ing me off more than needed when feeling slightly neglected! A typical female in my experience! 8) *runs off and hides from the backlash with his flameproof suit on....* Hear hear :notworthy:

It's a car, drive it. If it gets smashed, get it fixed. If you're not going to drive it, you might as well collect lovely gnome ornaments instead...

Mine probably won't, it did have a FVWSH til the last owner took it to a VW specialist instead, so sod it, there's no point now. I'll get it done by someone who knows what they're doing instead :) Having said that, he did also take it to the yokel Stealers for the last service and they failed to notice the cracked serpentine belt, leaking shocks and shagged top mounts...

A full set of VAG disks for a VR are... Front - £34.34 each Rear - £27.30 each A full set of Pagid FR pads from GSF are... Front - £25 (both sides) Rear - £29 (both sides) All + VAT, so £210ish inc VAT and plus fitting (not that hard to do yourself). The VAG pads are cheaper than the Pagid ones, and you should be able to get a fairly good discount on the disks from VAG too (I got mine at parts club prices)

Becuase there's no way that an inanimate object could cause the same kind of emotional highs and lows? :D
-
Oh and if you want to keep your FVWSH then just take it to them for servicing and get them to stamp the book. Buy all the parts youself beforehand and make sure you tell them to not touch anything other than the basic servicing parts.

Nice one, the beast is back :D

Bump - Anyone else interested? Still need money from a few people, so if you haven't been in touch yet please do. You've still got a couple of weeks, but if you're not interested any more then let me know. Thanks guys

As it's bound to come up at some point... if you've got the money it may also be worth investing in an uprated front engine mount too. A Vibratechs one is £150 though, so not cheap. The advantage is that it's slightly shorter, so will mean you have to cut less out of your bonnet. It's also stronger so reduces the chance of snapping and making a big dent in your bonnet. Oh and it'll hold the engine more firmly in place, making your car handle a bit better too.
-
It's also worth mentioning that there were only ever 500 VSR's made, so the chance of you getting your hands on one are pretty slim (although there was one for sale on here the other day).

That looks suspiciously like the C Storm posted last week... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13547 And the official Karmann ones... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12709 Edit, oh ok the second link is the same a corrado_barnett just posted.
