  1. Eugh I've got to do mine soon and that doesn't sound fun... I'll have a look when I get home though. Thanks for doing the write up! :D
  2. Gave him a call just now and I'm booked in for.....4th October!! Ho hum, at least I've got lots to be doing in the mean time. I think I'm gonna go for standard suspension for now, my insurance is gonna cost the earth anyway and it would also mean I need to do the front as well as the back. It can wait for another time when I can afford it I think :)
  3. Dragging this thread back up to the top to give you the latest update... The C went in this morning for it's surgery. They're also going to de-ding and respray the car where necessary. And also take out the nice jack-shaped dent I made in the sill  he did say they'd bash it out as far as possible and use filler to make it up the rest of the way, which err scared me a bit. I'm going to talk to him again before they underake that though. The extra work will be £340 and the whole job will take 2-2.5 weeks! So hopefully I'll get it back in time for Edition 38. We shall see though. After it comes back from the bodyshop I'm taking her up to Stealth to get pretty much the entire rear of the car replaced - brakes, bearings, axle bushes, shocks, springs and wishbones too. But my dilemma is... do I get after market suspension? Firstly, my insurance is with elephant, are they going to freak and charge me loads extra if I stick some aftermarket suspension on? Second, if I'm going to replace all the front suspension as well then I'd want to do the bushes too... I did the top mounts and brakes already, what else should I do while I'm in there? (kevhaywire school of thinking I'm afraid!)
  4. wha? Me? No, really I'm paying attention  I'll put it up tonight, I've got a few to add.

    Corrado toolkit

Well what did you want me to use? My extra special large hammer,. which if you could bring back at lunch would be good      Well I didn't know what it was for either, but the wheels were abused many years ago by the looks of things.
  6. Ah well, I guess it's worth a try. Technically speaking it isn't road legal, thus they can refuse to pay up tho...
  7. then again.........they do ask you if the car has any modifications from standard.........pleading ignorance i'm afraid wont wash with them You thought it was a standard factory option on the VR's....

    Corrado toolkit

Ahh cool, probably never been used though, judging by the screwdriver shaped nicks in the wheels
  9. Oooh nice one! I would have done the same :D

    Corrado toolkit

No idea wha' number 6 is for... I've got a little plastic thing for removing the plastic nut covers as well as what's shown there. Toothbrush is an odd addition tho! :D http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download.php?id=7628 is a piccie of the kit in-situ.

    Corrado toolkit

The description of it on ETKA is simply 'tool kit bag' so I don't think it has anything in it. I'm not even sure what you would put in it because the toolkit is pretty neatly contained in the plastic caddy thing anyway. It's more out of curiosity than wanting to get one, as I'm sure it'll be £30 from the $tealers  Could be worth finding out just for a giggle though.

    Corrado toolkit

I've just been looking through ETKA for some parts and came across the toolkit page. It's got the little plastic jobby with the jack/wheel brace et al in it.... and next to it some kind of pouch. Anybody firstly got one, or have any idea what it is?
  13. It was a good noise, til they were fitted to every crapped up Corsa, Saxo and Escort in existence. Now they just sound stupid. Admittedly if it's on a Scooby you know that it's probably doing something useful, but still. Personally I quite like the original grey import Scoobs that came over and the P1 as they are the ones that started it all off. There's no way I'd get a 'new' shape one though. Obviously the Scooby is quicker, but I'd rather have the C.
  14. That's what I was thinking too :D TBH, you don't stand a chance as soon as the Scooby is on boost it will leave you for dead both in a straight line and round corners. Unless the driver is a muppet.
  15. Well I think if it does make it into production, it'll look pretty much like that. I'll agree with you on the Daytona look alike, the back especially so. It's also got a fair bit of Mustang in there and the front I think is like that to give it a bit of GT40 feel. I bet it'll have a super silly price tag tho..
  16. Yeah, they are rather nice too, the DBR9 especially so :D
  17. I think its probably best to buy a complete wishbone from VAG as they come with the bushes, also get the BJ's too... Well if I'm going to get Stealth to do it, I'll just tell them to replace everything. I've got a big box of bits I can give them for starters and if anything else needs doing, they can provide. Hmm it's gonna be an expensive trip. Still makes me snigger when ball joints are abbreviated :D
  18. Yum http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... oryId=8944 Edit: I think I'd still rather have Eleanor though http://www.barrett-jackson.com/about/th ... toweek.asp :D
  19. ah good stuff, they're cheaper too :D How many sets of bushes are back there?
  20. After my C gets back from the bodyshop, I'm planning on taking it up to Stealth to do the rear axle bushes. Now I also have a box full of rear suspension and brake parts, so is it worth getting them to do all that while they're in there anyway? So far I have.... disks & pads, wheel bearings, ABS cages, shocks, springs, top spring plates and axle bushes. Is it worth getting some new rear wishbone bushes to put in as well? I'm damn tempted by the VT ones, I must say....
  21. You arrange with a cheaper price with a supplier on the provision that you get x people buying. The number needed is usually around 10 people.
  22. White G60 on BBS spokey Mk2 Golf type affair wheels (techinical description) just entering Saffron Walden at about 5:45pm on Friday
  23. I hope you werent using a mobile phone next to a fuel pump Kev.... It's the shell suit he was wearing at the time that you gotta worry about (for many reasons!)
  24. As I've currently got the el-crappo cassette VW HU in my C I want to get a new one. My plan is to use a portable MP3 player (mmm 60Gb) and hook it into the HU via the line out. Any suggestions on what to get? I want a nice sounding unit, but it doesn't need anythign any more fancy than plain old CD playback. That Pioneer DEH P77MP one does look rather tasty, even if it is another £70 over what I was planning on spending. It's also not a good sign that the HU in there currently sounds like a tinny poop. I'm hoping it's just because it's wired up badly, otherwise it's gonna be new speakers time (mmm Infinities). Damn you all and your nice ICE systems, now I have to play too.
