  1. Heated rear screen, yes, but anything else is aftermarket. If it is after market, I thought the only people that made them were Ford as they have the patent on it... so I wonder which Ford's screen you can use. You can guarantee a normal Ford screen is cheaper than a Corrado one. And if you want scarce, try looking for a Campaign... ;)
  2. Just an update: The sills replace the existing plastic ones, otherwise they would foul the door :) I've got 4 cheques and a promise of cash.. so I still need at least another 5 lots of money before I can go ahead and order...
  3. I really really want to get it fixed. I can get a good few hundred quid off the list price on the parts too which should help. It'll also cost me a fortune if they write it off because I not only kiss goodbye to my C and £500 of excess, but it gets Cat D listed and I lose the £1000 of premium too because they cancel your insurance after that. So I'd rather get the bodyshop to knock the price down and I pay up to £1500 extra to get it done. That way I get my C back that will be in practically new condition and still have insurance. We shall see though, I'm sure I'll have fun and games with them...
  4. thanks guys So the latest update is... I took it in for a quote at the elephant recommended bodyshop almost straight away. A week after it happened I had a call from an investigator because I'd only had the car a week and a bit and they saw 2 dents and one accident, so he asked me loads of stuff about the car etc.. Then another week later I had an assesor come round to look at the damage (smart suit, big Merc). So it's now 2 and a bit weeks later and elephant have gotten all the forms back from the people they need and are waiting the go-ahead from the engineers. Which presumably means that I then begin the argument with them about whether they write it off or repair it  I must say though, every single person I've talked to at elephant have been very polite and helpful and other than taking their time, I've not had any issues with them... But as I say the real fun about the car's value will begin soon. So in the mean time I get to keep driving my lovely non A/C black 1.2 Corsa in the beating sun. Hurrah. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who'se helped me out with this in some way, especially kevhaywire, Crazymarcel and Nelson_Wilbury for the offers of cheap parts, mental support and everything else. With any luck the girl's going to make it into the bodyshop sooner rather than later...
  5. That's what I'm worried about at the moment with them, if they write it off not only do I kiss goodbye to my C and the £500 excess, but I also lose the £1000 I paid them in premium and get a lousy amount for the C. I *need* to get it repaired...
  6. Could you let us know what site it is? Could be useful in the future... Good man :) loads of people have done it before, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive guide on here as to how to do it. Someone should be able to help you out and then I can catalague it for others to enjoy :D Good luck!!
  7. Right, the how-to site is now up in it's official home at http://the-corrado.net/how-to for your viewing pleasure. I still need to transfer some of the how-to's over from the old site and also sort out the design a bit too. But at least we have a 'proper' address for it now! Thanks to Andi for setting everything up!! In the mean time, plleeeeeeease send me links to your how-to's people! I know I'm a bit slow adding stuff, but I think I've done all the ones I've had so far, so keep em coming.
  8. Nice one 8) super cool lookin site
  9. Even better why don't you get some super cool forum stickers?? ;) Click on the CF Shop link at the top of the page or, http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/shop.php
  10. Yeah I called the Cambridge lot to ask if they could post a bearing to me. They said sure, but it would be £20 postage. I'd be inclined to walk in there with a fiver and slap it down and say take it or leave it.
  11. When driving mine for the first time after I picked it up I was stuck behind a A6 Quattro that felt like it was pootling along in the outside lane. They pulled over I accerated past. I then realised I was zapping past the rest of the traffic rather quickly. Glanced down and then backed off when I saw I was going 110ish. lol. Made me laugh tho.
  12. beaten too it. If you fancy taking some pictures for the how-to site ( http://the-corrado.net/how-to ) while you do it, that would be fantastic!
  13. The aforementioned Passat handle thread (with various questions about it too) http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5631
  14. The Search button is your friend.... I did a search for wheels AND website and... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... ls+website ;)
  15. I must say I'm just guessing based on the photos in this thread and my man in Canada isn't about at the moment so I haven't been able to ask. I will find out as soon as I get a chance though. Unfortunately the ETA is going to be early Sept I'm afraid because the sodding factory is closed til mid-late August now . Once I get all the cheques and order the sills, they should take 8-10 working days to made and delivered to me. However, I'll let you know a definite delivery date closer to the time.
  16. And getting to enjoy the C on empty roads while everybody else is at work no doubt :) you must be the coolest teacher in the car park 8)
  17. Oop sorry ']['H3R4POR, I just saw your post. You've been added as lucky number 11 :) Edit: It looks like they replace the standard sills rather than going over the top, but I'll check for you.
  18. Ohh man that sucks, I thought mine was bad, and that was just my own stupid fault. I hope you get the little turd and string him up... on the plus side there were 4 of them in the car, so you never know, one of them might have a conscience and tell someone about what happened. Good luck mate and let us know how you get on with the repair/a new C
  19. It's a pretty shocking state to see a car in though, good job you got out ok!

    Dull paint

If you still have some laquer left then some Swissol/Zymol type wax might be able to bring it back from the dead.
  21. Mmmmm Cobra. It's like an instant penis extension  8) It was funny looking in the engine bay... it's got a 5.7litre V8 in there and there's still enough room for 2 kids and a napsack! Who needs rear seats :D
  22. *cough* lol. You can sleep in your car, but you can't drive your house :D The 427's are the Cobra's that all the kits are replicas of, and yeah they had ally bodies. The best Cobra replica around at the moment has to be a Dax Tojeiro with the funky De Dion self levelling suspension. With a 502cu (thats 8.2 litres to you) big-block Chevy engine in it, with something in the region of 500 effortless bhp. Yeah it's a fake snake, but it's got far better suspension and brakes as well as a dirty great big engine. I still soil myself when I hear one start up :D
