Woo latest update... I got a letter from elephant.co.uk today telling me to go take my car in for repairs... no dispute over repair cost or car value and I get some beater courtesy car too! Score :D

Anyone ever done anything different with their Head Units?
dinkus replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
See I'm all for good audio and I've got rather a tasty hi-fi at home, but I don't see the point in getting super low distortion amps in your car. Yeah ok, don't get any old crap, but seriously, you're going to DRIVE the car and get wind/road/tyre noise booming through your lovely undistorted audio. -
Fantastic stuff :D Mind if I add it to the how-to section?

Buckhurst Hill. Along with Eug. From Buckhurst Hill. Who has a Corrado. VR6. In Blackberry. AKA Silverfox. Blimey you drove miles! Good to get them some more business though... if only they were all that helpful :)

Black shows up the dirt much more, you'd be out there cleaning it all the time :)

Heh heh yeah Aqua Blue Perl is the best colour...although I do quite like the aubergine ones. LC5U all the way (hmm I need to get out more). and just because I've been dying to use this smiley - :norty:

Probably and old skool cut out in the top of the bonnet 8)
-
I'm sure you can 'borrow' them from a local Merc owner, it's not like they use them anyway

http://the-corrado.net/how-to/index.php ... tails&id=2 :D If you do go for the headlight loom upgrade, if you could take pictures too that would be great. Gavin (H100VW) does a good pre-made loom for £50 IIRC.

Probably a bit of tree... ;) (sorry, couldn't resist it... ) no the only tree I carry round is wedged in the front wishbone bush now

*Still* waiting for elephant to tell me, they're getting daily pestering at the moment tho. With any luck they'll give it the go-ahead on Monday, but we shall see... in the mean time it's just sitting in my garage taunting me every time I go in there :(
-
Yep, spot on. Made worse in my case because of the Neuspeed anti-roll bar. I always put a big dent in the rear box when fitting ARBs to overcome that wee problem   I've got visions of Mr. Perfection sitting in his driveway wolloping the crap out of his brand new exhaust  My exhaust is rattling with engine revs at the moment, but that's probably cos I've knocked something loose. Sounds like it's coming from the back somwhere, but not really had a look.

Rear Caliper Carrier Bolts - To Grease or Not to Grease?
dinkus replied to vr-man's topic in Suppliers Forum
  -
They're not particularly expensive, (£11 each?) so you might as well replace them while you're in there. But then I went on the same theory and now have a box full of rear suspension parts

Rear Caliper Carrier Bolts - To Grease or Not to Grease?
dinkus replied to vr-man's topic in Suppliers Forum
If you can't see anything on the bolt, there probably isn't anything on it. The old bolts will have been stuck in due to 10yrs or so of gradual corrosion. I'd just stick them in as they are, then if you do ever want to get them out again just soak them in penetrating oil first (PlusGas is the daddy!). -
As for the fuse number, I'd have a search for spoiler AND fuse and see what you get. It's been covered a few times before, so there should be something of use to you in there. The door handles are notorious for breaking, but luckily there's a whole big long thread on what to do about it here - http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5631 it is mainly about using the far cheaper Passat handles of similar vintage instead of genuine C ones, but it does cover pretty much everything you need to know. If you are going to replace your door handle, if you could take pictures as you do so that would be great to add to the how-to secition :D Good luck!

Couldn't have been me, I traded mine in for a Lexus...

No problem, I'll give them a call on Monday and order them, then post on here to let you know if they'll have them (I got mine from them only a couple of weeks ago, so I'm sure they will).
-
I've got a load of stuff I need to go pick up from VAG next week, so I'll see if I can order another pair of arms for you :)
-
I'm with elephant and are in the process of making a claim. I paid £996 fully comp with no NCB and I'm 22. They were far cheaper than anyone else and every single time I've called them the customer service people have been great. However, I still haven't actually had any money/repair work out of them, so I'll let you know as/when that develops. I certainly don't like their policy of cancelling your insurance if the car is a write off though!
-
Shame it doesn't come with the OE wheels. Although I'd expect platinum plated replacements as well at the original ones still boxed for that price. It's in nice tidy shape though
-
Indeed I do, looked good on the mailing list too ;)
-
Is that opposed to the many expected problems from a C? :( Good luck!!
-
Indeed you can, PM sent
