FYI The rear bearings come with seals and are £16.12 each from the $tealers! (At least for the VR6) The ABS cages are £10.51 each and you need a seal/clip/fastener plastic thing (not sure exactly what, this is what they said) and they're £1.78 each. Part numbers will be posted once I get the receipt.

My plasic is light grey at the moment, so it'll soak up the trim cleaner like a sponge. Hopefully that means it'll stay put... fingers crossed.

Yay, I'll add them to my VAG list too... I'm on a first name basis with them already and I've only had the C a week  While I'm in there, I'm going to be doing the rear shocks and top spring plates too, are there any other bits that are likely to need replacing? I'm tempted to put new hub-damper bolts in anyway, but anything else?
-
I knew I shouldn't have peeled that National Trust sticker off the windscreen when I bought mine

You just wait, the price of Nugget Yellow C's will skyrocket when that's released :D

Sounds like it's going to be a fun weekend...

I take it that this is the same for the VR6? If so it's another call to my friendly stealer (no really, they are actually friendly!) Is there anything else that needs replacing with the disks and pads?
-
Storm, it would be great if you could, if you have the links for the original threads too that would help so I can give credit to the people that originally posted the stuff. If not, if you can mark which forum it was from that would be good so I can then go and find the original thread. jimsG60, maybe you'd be able to help me out with that? I want to get as much stuff up on this new site as I can, so people start using it and it doesn't just fizzle out :)

I think you'll struggle to find them in general circulation because it was pre TiVO :D However, if someone from the CCGB calls up the BBC Library officially, I'm sure it will be possible to get hold of a broadcast-quality tape of the show/excerpt you need. How much they charge you for it, I dunno though... I did used to know someone who worked there, so I might make some phone calls... If I can get a tape of it, I can certainly put it on to DVD for yall (involving a small fee). It would certainly help if anyone knew what year/date/episode any of the Corrado features were on. We can probably get a proper copy of the bit they did recently on the Corrado... maybe get whoever's Corrado it was to call them up and ask for a copy of the show on DV or somesuch? If I am going to put a DVD together for everyone, it would be good to put a bit more than 2x 1min Top Gear excerpts on it, has anyone got any other suggestions for what could go on there?

Glad you like it so far, the design is a little 'functional' but I'm working on getting the code working properly first :D Don't forget to PM me links to how-to's you've seen on here. I've had a few already, but keep em coming. Even if it's for something simple like how to replace a sensor or do an oil change. Pictures always help too :)

Ok guys, following the talk I had with metman, VR6 and jimsG60 earlier, I have made a start on a How-To website... The idea is that this site will catalogue all of the step by step How-To guides that are floating around, and make up some more from the huge amount of existing information that is locked away in the depths of this forum. I still need to finish it off and get a nice GUI admin side working, but for now I've added 2 of my entries so you get an idea of how the site will work. If anyone has any feedback, or suggestions or features they would like to see on the site, then please let me know. Most importantly, can people start PMing me links to How-To guides that have already been done! Without these, this site is going to be worthless. Don't go bookmarking it just yet, because the site is sitting on my personal space on our work server! With any luck it will be moved to the-corrado.net/how-to but that's yet to be decided. So go take a look, tell me what you think and start digging out your how-to guides! Dom P.S. Before you say, I know the contact page doesn't work yet, just PM me instead. And yes, it's going to need a search feature, but until we get enough entries to warrant that, I won't write one just yet. Edit: I also need to sort out pictures in the articles

Let me guess, it was a Corsa once upon a time?
-
It's also up on fastpurple.co.uk

Err while I'm asking, can I also get the torque settings for the hub-carrier bolts and the carrier to caliper ones too? Chars
-
Thanks stevemac, post has been updated

The arm comes with a blade attached to it, you simply unbolt the original arm and bolt the new one on. That's it, job done. People have said you can use different blades that sit in different places on the arms for the passenger side and different arms and all that stuff, but 2 of the part number listed above will work fine. They are the drivers side arm and blade assembly used on the Lupo GTI. You need to tell the dealer (or GSF) the part number though, because they probably won't be able to find the right part otherwise. Edit: you can only get the blades from GSF! There's a great how-to here - http://the-corrado.net/how-to/index.php ... tails&id=2

Oh and the caliper carriers are fun to get off too...

For those of you in doubt as to how good this mod is... here is a picture of my wiper blades. The one on the left is a relatively new standard fit Bosch one, on a Corrado arm. The one on the right is a Lupo arm (part no. V6X2 998 406, for £16.49+ VAT inc. 10% discount).

But put the cap back on again to seal the system and stop too much leaking out.
-
Good stuff... we'll put a torque wrench on em next time, rather than the 42" breaker bar  Looks like you had a slightly more productive weekend than we did with your haywire engineering wiper strut ;) At least I can send my spanner monkey to get the bolts from VAG on Monday morning and the C will be ready for my VAG-COM appointment :)
-
Yeah it could well have been, it's an L-reg ending in KNO. It was either black (most likely) or v. dark blue. There is a black one that lives in Newport that I went to go see the other week with intergalactic mileage and a 'new' engine, but it was a pile-o-shite. Not the same one you went to see was it?
-
Yeah it made me laugh when I saw that today. What other obscure places did they put the logo?
-
Well after spending a day working on the C (well most of it was driving around to get tools ) we almost got done and I sheared one of the hub bolts. Doh. However, we have been taking pictures at every step of the way, so a write up on how to replace your top mounts and brake disks will be up here as soon as we get done. But my question to you guys is... now that I'm gonna be getting some new strut-hub bolts from VAG, what is the torque setting for them? I don't really want to shear another one and I certainly don't want em falling off while I'm driving! Oh and also thanks to kev for not calling me an idiot when I called him asking how to get the top mounts off. Stay tuned...

I finally saw the other Corrado in Saffron Walden that all my friends keep saying they've seen... twice! But as my C was on axle stands at the time, I didn't think I should wave from my mate's beat up old Cav. I need to follow him home one day and give him a CCGB membership form :) Edit: Ooh ooh then went into Cambridge and saw a rather tatty looking white VR!
