Think i'm right in saying those aren't damping adjustable. Thats important if you are fitting larger wheels as you may need to firm them up to avoid tyre rubbing issues. That's true Lee, but in that case you're tuning the suspension to the needs of your wheels, instead of to the needs of the car/chssis, which IMO is more important. It all boils down to if the aesthetics or dynamics are more important. H&Rs are not adjustable for damping as the kits are very specific to the model of car. The dampers are valved to match the springs, which are tailored to each application. IMO they've got it spot on and I don't feel need to adjust the damping. But that's just me! :)

If you've got 800 quid to spend I'd suggest H&R coilovers. IMO the Rolls Royce of coilovers! Available from Motorsport Wheels (importer).

Off! IMO they never look right, way too "stuck on" and afterthought-ish :!:

A sad, sad day, my VR6 engine is dead.....

 Gutted for you mate, that really is so unfair. But keep the faith, you get it sorted I'm sure. All the best. -
I don't think the Passat one is the same mate. Mk3 Golf and Vento VR are though. Best to check on Ekta if you have access to it. Golf ones appear on ebay every now and then.

Love that side on shot - looks fantastic mate 8)

Looking good Phat, but you gotta make yourself the first to get those InPro/FK inner lamps to line up correctly! There must be a way this can be sorted? I'm shocked that the manufacturer's can't get this right, especially given the cost. -

If it's a 1.8 the top hose comes off between cylinders 3 and 4 on the head. If 1.6 its between 1 and 2. -
New bulb needed! Sits behind the centre rotatry control. Gently prise this off and get a new one!

Year of VR? If late VR if could be the factory immobiliser playing up. The receiver for the key slips down the steering column - the further it slips, the further out of range it ends up for the key. Worth checking.

Right, The Samco kit foir a Mk2 Golf 16V retails at £136. I can get them for £96 :D Carriage is £7.95. Just bear in mind that this kit is for the Golf and not the Corrado. If you are desperate for a Corrado 16V specific kit it might be worth someone sending a complete OE hose set to Samco so that they can make up the correct template. HTH Asim

I'll get you an exact price for the 16V kit tomorrow. Asim

I had a 230 Kompressor X plate CLK for 6 months as a company car. Had 197bhp and despite being an auto was no slotch. But IMO the VR was in a different league - the VR was quicker, smoother (CLK was a nasty coarse 4 pot) and a better handler. I guess in a staright line the VR and 320 may be quite evenly matched, but I suspect the VR will out handle it.
-
Ask Kieron - he's just bought a CLK and had a VR before (with 230 odd bhp!)
-
Oh you lucky lucky man! Standard? Or extras?
-
 Lucky man! What year?

I can get a healthy discount on Samcos (-30%) as I sorted a GB last year. Let me know if you're interested. Asim

Sounds like you need an adaptor ring - although I'm not sure one exists to help you get round the problem, as most of the adaptor rings are for getting the correct hole alighnment rather than diameter of holes? Still worth trying. I needed a adaptor to fit my Italvolanti to the Raid - Motech do them. You might also want to try a Personnal agent as they may have come across this issue before. The only other thing I found was that the raid snap off boss spaces the wheel a fair bit closer to you when your sat in your seat. I had to use a different (shorter) wheel boss to compensate for the thickness of the Raid.

Is it going to Ed 38 mate? Love to see it in the flesh.

Beautiful car! BUT for the first time ever I'd say the RS's don't suit it, especially since these are deeper dished. The wing and arch on the 'rocco is tool tall and shallow and the RS just look too fat IMO. Something like the BBS RA (Mk2 16V) crossspoke may look better, or Pirelli's?

Lee, if you're after just the electric adjustment make up your own loom. All you need is a live (fused of course) and an earth. If you remember the Recaros I had in my Mk1, I wired these up making up my own loom and it worked perfectly.

No kit is listed for a Corrado 16V. Mk2 Golf 16V kit may fit though??
