Cheers Rodders :)

Anybody know technical details for B5 Passat wheels. Are they 5x112 or 5x100? And rough ETs?
-
We don't all eat all of the pies mate ;)
-
PS I can't believe that Vince has got his own "meta-tag" thingy ;)
-
Having spoken to Vince about the PD engine upgrades at the last RR day I went to at Stealth as I was looking at Passat TDis, he reckoned the 115bhp (which is usually more like 125 anyway!) could be pepped up to 150 odd for a few hundred quid... I've ended up going the 20VT route though. Collecting the Passat on Saturday... ;) (It's instead of the Mrs' Arosa btw, so don't panic :) )

Hmm, yeah. Handling on Mk4s was ALWAYS a bit suspect.... Get some decent suspension setup (My vote's with Konis ;) )
-
Although my Router has just rebooted, I'm uploading my pics from Stanford Hall today... I'll post my choices later ;) Usual place - http://www.autoposter.co.uk

Is there some project you're not telling us about Jim V8 engine block? It looks okay for the monies to me - why spoil a 100% feedback?
-
It wasn't actually being used for anything ;) They were just random shots... :)
-
As I said, I wasn't asking what you thought of the photo, just which one was better...
-
That wasn't the question, I know they're not particularly good pics from a composition or technical point of view, BUT it's more which is more "pleasing to the eye..."
-
cross-posting my crop from No-Rice, but hey, you did ask :) Yeah, that's kinda good. Haven't had time to do any cropping or anything on these pics yet. From a "composition" point of view it was pure accident as I had spent about 3 minutes waiting for people to move from around the front of the rallye and then just as I was taking it some bloke drives past in front.... But then, looking back I kinda prefered the original.
-
You see, I reckon the first shot as it's got more life to it, second one's a bit dead for me...
-
Okay, can't decide which of these two is the better pic... Please put your opinions down...
-
F 2** BVV will be the registrations you are looking for... All (I think) red and all 16v.
-
Yeah, Shrick.... Hmmm. When I've saved me pennies... Mind you, I was marked down at a Concours recently for having a 1.9l engine in the Scirocco, even though externally it was exactly the same :(

As peeps have said, it's not REALLY modding it fitting aircon, I don't think there'd be anything that couldn't be returned to original if I did it, and if there was I probably wouldn't do it. It's the same with the steering wheel and gearknob, as these are items that are getting lots of wear and I would prefer them to be in top condition than worn out by being used too much. I've got a huge stereo install in the boot as well, but again that's all removable. As for "dropping in value". Doubt it, and as I don't intend selling, I don't really care.

I keep meaning to swap the steering wheel actually, as I've got a Momo Millenium wheel sitting doing nothing, and keep the original in storage for "real" shows ;) Plus the gearknob needs changing too, as it's beginning to wear a little.

You see - this is the price you have to pay for owning one of the rarest VWs on the planet ;) To paraphrase somebody who I can't remember - You don't own these cars, you are merely the keeper for a while ;)
-
Majik - you're only jealous 'coz you didn't get the dashboard ;) For other's information - Majik has one of the interiors from a written off Campaign - there is only evidence of 4 originals being left in existence...
-
Okay, answers a) - I've had mine for just over 3 years now. b) - A guy in Norfolk called Tim Adinell who was on his second (really!) Campaign. I'm not 100% as to which the other one was that he owned. As far as I know there is only one that is still with it's original owner, who lives in Suffolk and isn't really an enthusiast as she hasn't joined the club or replied to any notes left on her car. c) I do mind ;) d) Are you kidding ;) e) nope! - I've had my Scirocco Storm for 14 years now, and the have no reason to sell it or the Campaign as long as I've got somewhere to keep it. No chance - sorry ;) I hear what people say about the "in your face" interior, but you learn to live with it to be honest, it's not quite as bright as it looks in photos and is very comfortable. Also you get all the toys, (electric Recaros, leather EVERYWHERE) in fact the only thing it's missing is Air-con, but I'm thinking about adding that soon (provided I don't get shot for that!)

That's wasn't the same car, that was just one that had been featured in LaxPower (wrong bodykit, wrong engine, wrong gearbox etc. etc.)
-
Personally I'd got for the Bora with the same engine, slightly more stealthy and tend to be better specced for the money.
