Alex, the Bosch will last a LOT Longer (even with your driving styleee!) I used Bosch Triples in my G60 and they lasted about 60k miles, the NGKs only lasted about 15-20k.

The ol' G60 had a 15 speaker set-up. Front was 6+4+Tweeter setup, rear shelf had 4x 6x9's with independent tweeters x4 and a sub... Ran off two amps (Denon DCA800x2), sounded bloody awesome and should've ripped it out when I sold the car! Doh!

Ooooh don't get me started on the AudioBahn sh**t! I had them fitted in the front of the Campaign for a while, they sound absolutely bl*$dy dreadful! No mid-range whatsoever! And they echoed like billyo. I dumped them and fitted Memphis instead. Mind you, stupid thing was, about a week after fitting them I won "best sound" award at the local car stereo shop sound-off... give's you some idea about how bad some of the others sounded.

No, that was Chris de Bono's, nearly bought it, but at the time it was a) too expensive and b) I would've put FAR too many miles on it.

I bought a drum of the stuff at Inters, just over a £ per litre...

My Storm was featured in VW Motoring in (oooh) 1998 I think, together with my G60 at the time. I'm working on some kind of feature for the Campaign & the Storm

I s'pose it depends on how much you value your car... I had my Land Rover refurbished about 10 years ago, which cost me a total of £4.5k looked stunning for about three years, but it probably put another 5 years onto the life of the vehicle. Considering a good G60 would only fetch (say) £4k wouldn't it be better to sell yours and buy a minter to do the work on? Just an idea. BUT if you love your car (like I love my Storm) AND you intend keeping it for a length of time (inpertuity) then £3k isn't that much if you can afford it. :) So long as you KNOW you can trust the guy (and from what you've written you can), go for it.

No offense taken, the respray over that bit is gonna have to wait until next year as I'm moving house this year and most of the spare money is going on the Scirocco... I agree it is a bit of an eyesore that bit, but the rest of the car's fine. If you saw it on the Saturday I was too busy to get all the crap off from the drive down, but managed to get it clean(er) on the Sunday after judging the concours.

The one I want for the Scirocco is A 198 VVW or A 1.9 8v VW... it's out there... somewhere....

Perhaps we ought to have a poll as to "What badge should James put on his steering wheel...." I vote for either Seat or Skoda, but other suggestions perhaps Bugatti? After all, it's got VW, Porsche and Audi bits in it already...

You mainly have to look for G6 ZERO XX Used to have C6 0VW which translated nicely to G60 VW after some playful bolts. :lol:

Got J 13 VRG on mine... but here's what it looks like...

I have to say that the Mk2 is my least favourite Golf. The main thing wrong is the interior, so this one is a lot nicer with the Corrado Dash... But Why oh Why stick a very plain Momo steering wheel in there? It's just crying out for a decent wheel.

Hmm, never noticed the Noble ones before. I'll ask 'em as they're only up to road from me and I've a couple of contacts at the factory.
