Did you not get your Sprinter magazine from CCGB?
-
Agree, but if it's a Storm, why's it got Recaro's and BBS Alloys? Should be VW seats and Solitudes.... Wonder if it's registered as being damaged?
-
These are still available
-
Phew! That was close 8) Could've been the Campaign
-
Oh, you will be missed...

Or even her.... (note - .sigs can be deceiving :) )

Probably best to link back to the .pdf file I posted... (it's about half way down the page...) Campaign Description

Where is you Jimbo? My Campaign was touched up by East Kilworth Coachworks in Norfolk, who do the paint for Lotus...
-
It's sold btw. I do actually have the numbers...

My own personal views on Alpines are kind of mixed really. I used to swear by them, as they always had good sound quality (in the CD and Cassette days), but whenever I bought one it only lasted at most 2 years, usually only about 18 months before the face plate started losing contact with the head unit. It wasn't that I used to go for the cheap models either, £600 head unit with a dodgy face panel is no fun! I went through about 3 in 5 years. Recently I've been using Pioneer head units, although the Corrado has a Sony MP70 which is simply superb, with it's little solid feeling tray for loading the disc rather than the brushed runners. The C also has an M-Station with 60Gb drive in it, but I hardly use this any more. The Vento has a Pioneer 5500, and the Mrs has a Pioneer 4500 in hers.

Thanks for that Andi :-) The club has a new chairman and committee structure as from October. The next issue of Sprinter should be coming out at beginning of December (I'm still recovering from Post Baby Stress Disorder ie lack of sleep!)

Not as much as it's worth to some other people.... :? ;)

Take a look at http://www.jrb.info in the car pages section.... Ain't she a beauty  Strangely, there were a lot more Scirocco Storms than Corrado Storms (2,000 Mk1s and 600 Mk2s against 500 Corrados), but they were a lot more exclusive than the Corrados, rather than a "parts-bin raid" ;)
-
A Reg Scirocco Storm Mk2 anyone? Only know of two of 'em (mines on, and the VW press car's the other)
-
One of the points of twin-turbos is that they usually are small....
-
any 3.0CSL's for sale anywhere... now there's a car
-
Nice leather looking, seriously needs In-Pro rear lights though rather than hand-sprayed rear clusters!
-
How about putting a Subura lump in there too
-
 ROFLMAO  Wonder what happened to the dashboard Majik? Any clues? Also, where DID you actually pick it up from? Was it Manchester area?
-
Or alternatively GPC for Passat rear door handles, £34 for the pair brand new!

The Storm is just history repeating itself though. The Scirocco storm didn't get much extra over the regular GTI either. So for future Storm models, read that as leather and a red badge! Can you go into VW and buy the Storm badges? Or are they anal about it like BMW's M livery? You need to show them the log book to get genuine M badges. Kev The Scirocco Storm had stuff on it that you couldn't GET on a normal Scirocco (electric windows, new body kit, special wheels and the new 1.8 engine.) Most of the items appeared on later Sciroccos, but at the time you just couldn't get them. Also very few Sciroccos had Leather option, whearas it appears loads of Corrados got leather. VW sold out of the Corrado Storm badges years ago. A proper set will set you back quite a bit if you can find one

Just a quick note that, if you join now the membership fee will only be £8, as we're over half way through the year (March-Feb). It should decrease some insurance quotes. Mine came down by about £120 when I told them that I was in the "club". Also it's worth it just for the dealer discounts that (most) dealers give on showing your membership card.

Cheers to everybody for organising this. Funky, you did a grand job. Chuffed that I managed to get 182 out of the Vento VR6 (std. is 174) and it's bog standard with a crapper than normal exhaust too.... Also, good to speak to Vince at Stealth about seeing if we can get my Scirocco back on the road running right, as when I tried AMD they said "I'd probably get sacked for booking a Scirocco in...." Some nice cars there (as always). But Ben's got best Corrado, and it was also pleasing  ;-) to see a BMW M3 which was 30bhp down on power (290 instead of a standard 320)
