How much you going to be selling the BBSs for billinjah... 8)
-
too be honest the prices are very similar to your systems darren, its just a question of which one is the better system in terms of flowing etc, it would be nice to match up one of your nice flowing manifolds to a g-werks exhaust aswell and see the results. :-P should be in contact with you next week anyway darren so will speak to you then. ta

I think i posted up a topic ages ago about these systems, they are apparently a very good quality system, just wondering if anyone had a system on their Rado?? i am mulling between one of these systems or a G-werks System in the very near future... I think there was also a contact number of someone that can get hold of these systems direct from Bastuck in germany rather than getting them from Regal UK (which i have found very un helpfull...) Think his name was jon?? cant quite remember..

yeah i suppose you have a point... 8)

Congrats on the sale jay! loved your rado!! hope it goes to a good owner that will cherish it as you did. :) Cant wait to see what you do with the porsche. 8) -
Just finished fitting mine! i must admit getting the hoses alligned and correct is a bit of a pain, but other than that its a good piece of kit! Was a little bit worried that the airbox lid may be a little too thin at first but its reinforced quite nicely and shouldnt deform under the pressure from unduction. Havent really noticed much yet as i am still having map sensor problems but it cant be any worse! :) Makes the engine bay look a bit more interesting aswell!

maybe mate, but i may have got hold of a map sensor that will do the trick! Its from a mk3 tdi, 1.5 bar map sensor, bosch, just waiting to hear from darren if this is ok to use. Had a pretty dismal day at the pod, the car was not right at all, definatley seems to be a faulty map sensor or something similar as after experimenting with the cam, and the car boosting to 13 - 14 psi, the same thing happens at WOT, something still isnt right??

Just think, you would never have to buy minced meat again with a turbo that big, all you have to do is have a collection bag situated at the back of the car and all the animals that get sucked into the turbo will get minced up, you may even have enough left over to sell on and make a tidy profit... :) No seriously that car is awesome

will keep an eye for you tommorow jay! hopefully i should be running my car up the strip a couple of times if i can get there early enough in the morning! 8)

As a temporary measure i want to try and get rid of some of the boost from my g60 by retarding the cam slightly, the main reason for this is that my map sensor is only 1 bar and i am boosting at 15 - 16 psi. Apart from retarding the cam, am i going to have to change anything else ( Ignition timing etc ) I gave it a quick go today and retarded it by 2 degrees and this seems to have reduced the boost by just enough, its just under 15 psi at the moment. and the map sensor isnt bleeding boost anymore. Are there any other effects of retarding the cam, other than reduce pressure and moving the power further up the rev range??
-
bearing in mind if you want it done decently , your gunna want the rear quarter panels blended in or painted as the roof is part of them aswell. i need to get my roof done but i am going to leave it now untill i can afford and justify spending £2000 on a complete spray job :)

just measured my one, its 25mm longer than it should be @ 1025mm?? Anyone know what the correct Internal Diameter should be?
-
It just occured to me last night that if i am at the limit of my map sensor at 15 psi that a shorter ecu vacuum would effect my car more than others as i am making greater boost. i am going to conduct an experiment tonight and put on a new vacuum pipe which is exactly 1m long and see what the old one measures. :-)
-
Can somebody tell me what would happen if the 1m long ecu vacuum pipe was either too short or too long?? I have heard of leaks in the system but what would happen if the pipe not at the correct length? WOuld this play havoc with the ecu? Cheers
-
The standard airbox used?? was it totally standard i.e standard filter, holes drilled etc etc?? I can see this kit working very nicely on my car.... :)
-
i only ask as i am getting a pinking problem on mine?? darren has said its due to my custom map being slightly over advanced, but the more i think about it i am starting to think the knock sensor may be faultly as the car pinks under load, without any retard cutting in, surely if i can hear the pinking this may mean the sensor is not picking up any knocking??
-
Any sneak previews / info jezza??
-
it can hardly make it run any worse can it! :)
-
yeah you will get the wooosh sound... 8)
-
yeah i sounded completely thick then.... I am just wondering how much the knock sensor will retard timing, is there a upper and lower limit? I take it the reaction of the knock sensor to the ecu would be in an instant??
-
i take it the knock sensor should eradicate any pinking issues?
