i have had the engine running up to temp and left it for ages, still couldnt see a leak?? How much do you want for the pipe??

I take it i can just replace this fuel pipe with some normal fuel hose from halfords or something? (8mm??) i am guessing the prices for a specific fuel pipe from VAG will set me back a few million pounds?? 8)

lean fuel mixture?? or shit fuel?

THis is starting to drive me potty!! i am getting a fuel smell from my car, i can smell it inside the car when the fans are on and it smells quite strong on the outside at times, i can smell it most when ive been on long run at motorway speeds, when the engine is hot. I have checked all the pipes in around the bay and there is no leaking at all... There is a pipe coming from the pump going into the driverside front wing, i pulled this out and it has nothing on the end, i am guessing this is to let the air out of the fuel tank?? I cannot see any leaks coming from anywhere at all but i can still smell bloody fuel!! I am running out of places to look now??

Where abouts did you get the 205/35/16 tyres from matey?? cant seem to find anywhere that sells them...or is it 215/35/16s??

it may be that you cable change may need adjusting slightly?? I meant it transformed the car in turms of gear ratio between 1st,2nd &3rd, and through the gear speed compared to the standard box...

The main downside to the rado g60 is the gearbox, you cant hit 60 in second making the 0 - 60 times seem slower, even with a car thats chipped @ pulley etc with 200+bhp it will not break any 0 - 60 records... The only way round this is to either mod the gearbox like i have with a vr6 1st & 2nd or go for a mk3 golf gti 16v box, this will completey transform the car!! believe me running 240bhp on the standard box is a bit of a nightmare.. As far as the suspension goes i believe its the same as the 16v rado?? Your best bet for more power is to start with a chip & pulley upgrade, that will give you around 180 - 190bhp, another very important thing to keep on top off is the supercharger, make sure thats been rebuilt and that its looked after well. From then on it really depends on how much you want to do to the car and how much you want to spend on the engine... I have pretty much finished modding my engine now and i am very happy with it, theres a few little creases that need ironing out, but it absolutely flies and has suprised quite a few jap cars... 8) and is still a fairly good daily driver car if you dont mind a bumoy ride... :wink: i am looking into getting a Golf g60 as a project car in a year or so to keep me occupied, i have quite a few plans for that car when i get it.... :)

Run the tank empty, change the filter and put some tesco 99 ron fuel in :) and try that, IMO this fuel seems better than optimax at the moment... i am running mine on it at the mo and compared to the optimax it does feel a little more lively!

G-werks Sells slimline fans... i have one on my G60, they work very well, dont think they are 2 speed tho?? they shift quite a bit of air tho!!! :) http://gwerks.co.uk/ As far as fitting goes, all the required bits that are need come with the kit and its fairly straight forward to fit one...

seeing as the problem seems to be the metal strip in the window seal on the bottom of the window cutout, can we still get new seals for this problem??

i was gonna have a go at painting the wiper panel, but i couldnt remove the plastic panels at all!! And in terms of colour i would go for a black maybe.... satin black??

yeah!! when my charger belt went there was a load of rubber shards and crap all around the engine bay, so i managed to give it a good clean and everything is looking a better now.... Was going to give the charger a coat of paint but i couldnt be bothered in the end... :oops: i was nursing a mega hangover so i think getting up early to do the water pump was enough for that day. 8)

The extreme length i went to change my water pump.... wont be doing this again anytime soon.... I could probably have done it without taking the whole front of the car apart but hey.... the weather was good so why not!! :roll: The pump is just behind the charger bracket....

ive had a fairly hectic week aswell!! i had another charger belt go on me, so had to change that... this was my fault as i tightened the belt up too tight... :roll: Then the bloody water pump went, so ended up taking whole front end of the car apart to get to the little bastard out, giving everything a good clean at the same time.. also finally managed to sort out my crappy uprated headlight loom whilst in there.... Then finally when i finished all that, my passenger door window support decided to fall out and scratch the window in several places, so i spent most of today swearing and cursing (all this with a hangover from the nite b4) getting that back into place.... That and the fact i have half a corrado in bits in my garage waiting to go to the paintshop to get sprayed, i really doubt it will be ready for inters.... Pain in the arse.

Delete this post!!!!!! I am being a w**ker!! the toothed belt had worked its way too slack! causing the noise described... :oops: Feel like a plonker now, guess i shouldnt rush to conclusions... Then again it is a g60, i think they come supplied with a heart condition when you buy one....

Just started the car, and noticed a graunching nosie coming from the engine bay, from what can only be described as the charger!! Now i am not totally sure what a knackered charger sounds like but from what i can tell most of this noise is coming from the charger or around it... :( which isnt good at all!! Its looking like the pinking noise i may have been gettning from the car was actually the charger starting to grenade itself?? Ive just gotta hope darren can have a look at it ASAP... :(
