  1. Hate shopping had to go my arms felt like there were gonna fall off 7kids nearly done though Come home with a full boot and back seats Think she got me some Lynx lol
  2. Having this done finally(didn't get chance whilst doing engine) One other forum folk Said to have some TOE OUT I've always thought for better turn in to have wheels toe IN 1/2 neg camber ok?
  3. Looking well You getting the vt rear beam bushes etc? How about the stuff from TT you ordered?
  4. Hassan ive got the 24v AUE so front end off I know kev guess Ive got no other option I have tried to kid myself there is an easyer way I will have a solution just need to get all the parts then try it Suck it and see When I get it to work as it should I'm sure someone will be thankful for making it very easy for them Zak
  5. It is like walking through eastern Europe there lol
  6. It's just the thought of having to take off the front end again Just filled it up with g12++ Guess will have to as got time off after Christmas Pile of sheet fooking cars
  7. Need this http://www.worldimpex.com/parts/genuine-part-hall-sender-rotor_144795.html Or an ecu from the states that will get mapped
  8. Rang vw and they said it was the old style single magnet type Well I have been to the guy who bought my engine and I can also confirm the ecu need the single point for cam position Ffs front end off Can the cam sprocket side cover come off without taking off the rocker cover?
  9. well the later style was used in the 12v http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Golf_III--VR6_12v/Engine/Mechanical/ES281756/ But might of only been used in the states
  10. Right well done a Google search and come up with images indicating the that the late mk3 obd2 Cam trigger wheel is that of the later style quick start type Stupid me sold my 12v so can't double check Is there anyone here with a late obd2 engine in bits to confirm? Also I'm doubtful about it as it would cause problems for those doing the obd2 conversions on there obd1 cars I have had it confirmed in the states but need to know for certain for our uk cars
  11. Like your way of thinking Is ther an output on the ECU to control the inlet valve?
  12. Won't you lose idle control if you use the obd1 throttle body? I'm sure in the previous posts there was a mention of using a throttle body off an Alfa?
  13. Will have to see The only thing I really hate with the engines is The whole front end needs to come off to do most of the stuff When the car was at stealth vince did say he would be able to map it so that IF I didn't sort the problem with the cam sensor he had a way round it with the remap Either way it's the best week I've spent on a car and gained £23 plus 30ft lbs +lol
  14. It is strange but vag com will confirm for sure I also ask Paul from the states (need a vr6) and he also said that the 24v sensor will work fine I might get one of them nasty £10 shift lights off eBay if the vtec controller don't work
  15. Yes it's more so to try if it will work with the 12v ecu But I got a new one anyways
  16. That's what I thought about the quick start but when I ooked at the quick start sensor it looked different with 2bumps on the end of the sensor I think cant find the pic I saw I got a new cam sensor for a 2000 4motion and it looked the same as the 12v one besides the size difference Swapped them over yesterday reset ecu and it seems lot better starts a fraction quicker It Has massively improved throttle response When I find someone close with vag com will be able to confirm At the moment its furking awesome between 2500-4000 It's now pulling in 5th like it used to in 4th This Also where is the easiest place to get an rpm signal from? In the cabin besides behind the clocks? Need to wire in a vafc2 to control manifold
  17. Things only go from bad to worse It's a lot trickier to drive on slight icy roads Ferodo pads and wave diff are desperately needed too There was me over excited yesterday and now I can't believe the difference with a working cam position sensor It's insane
  18. Got a new cam sensor Wired in new plug for sensor, problem I have is laptop has died and not got another laptop to use the vag com with Got a cheepy scanner but it has never shown the cam sensor fault Reset ECU so will see if there is anything different now on my way to work later
  19. it will be good to see when the cam sensor is working as it should. It is bit rich on WOT I need a little help with some info on the cam sensor and the magnet thing on the end of the cam compared to the 12v cam to compare If anyone understands what I mean Also when does the torque drop off normally on the 24v
  20. Pardon me for probably using the wrong terminology but the vr6 IAT takes longer to see a change in temperature Where's the one off the 1.8t reacts/sees the change in temperature lot quicker
  21. Need a cam sensor for a 2.8 24v aue the early engines with coil pack
  22. I couldn't believe it, still don't lol The graphs are up on the 24v thread With the flaps open I got torque all way to rev limiter So I guess once the cam sensor problem is solved and mapped it should be ok
  23. Torque graph Runs with and without flaps you can see the torqu with the flaps whic needs sorting Got a problem with the cam sensor and getting some det All in all I'm massively surprised
