Someone beat you to it! here so locking.

Small update. Been busy so done nothing about this :) I will chase it up in the near future with the view to getting a small batch produced.

Nice find, it looks in fantastic condition for its age.

Bueller!

Humn. If you have had a new pump a year ago and it continues to squirt into the header tank then it's not likely to be the pump. :/ Next thing to look at as Danny Boy suggests above is a blockage in the radiator matrix causing the overpressure, again is this an original item or a newer replacment part?

If the duct is not cracked to badly then I will take it as I can dig out the plastic welding kit, I don't have one on the VR as it was removed when the K&N cone filter was fitted.

Spotted them the other night, Goof ones don't even have the electric tilt option just the height, scene tax tastic but more fool the person who buys them!

Bit of a waste of time though. Your car does not need the rad fan until in slow traffic or stopped - driving forwards at 30mph will force cooling air over the radiator and ensure that the radiator does its job. I would suspect water pump failure instead, a lack of coolant flow will give you the symptoms you describe and the boiling of the coolant in the system will generate the air pockets you are getting. So how many miles has the car done and is it still the original coolant pump? If the miles are above 100k and you are still on the original pump then it will most likely need replacing as the impeller wears away over time, easy enough to change although a little messy. I would also get a new thermostat and a new thermostat housing whilst you are there as it is likely that the original plastic housing will crumble and the original stat may now be fecked thanks to the overheating. Hope that helps!

That trader frequently wants way too much for parts. Although I did get a good fleabay bargain a couple of weeks ago, 2 x genuine VAG brand new VR6 outer CV joints (thats joints not boots) for the huge sum of £39.98 delivered :) I think they go for around £200 inc VAT and you have to exchange your old ones for that price!

After the bit of plastic duct that sits on the drivers side of the radiator and the little plastic clip thingy that holds the rear of the fusebox cover shelf (bolts onto the bottom of the wheel arch area) in place if you still have them.

Depends on the original clocks, if you have a set of digital mileage clocks it should be plug and play but if you are trying to replace a set of clocks that were originally mechanical mileage with digi mileage ones it wont work properly.

G60 start is not true, valvers work just as well or even a VR. Depends on the route you want to head down, easiest conversion is using a 1Z or similar engine from a 93-96 Passat as it is more plug and play but they are a mere 90bhp unit. Next option is a PD based unit and they go all the way up to 170bhp IIRC, although this is a lot more work and will require a new mounting point welding on the subframe and more.

They do last for well in excess of 100k and 15+ years so whilst the exhaust system is expensive it is unlikely that most folks will ever need to replace them again. Got a VW one to go back on the G60 as the Jetex (for me anyway) does not fit correctly and is too noisy.

VW Parts - No club discount? GRRRR!
Yandards replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in General Car Chat
Next day delivery is standard too, most dealerships get a delivery tuesday-saturday and parts ordered the previous day are on the next days delivery system. Luck of the draw really, it took me ages to get a discount at my current dealer but I did get one eventually. -
Alex, Bottom rad hose is G60 specific. Radiator support panels are 'rado specific - mk 2 ones will not fit!. It's the lower splitter attachment and the slightly curved front end of the rado that causes the issue. Only difference between a 16v rad support and a g60 one is the extra PAS cooling pipe and the brake cooling duct on the N/S/F mounts in a different spot.

Yep, weather has been awesome up here, we were due some good stuff after the last few years, good to see you using the car and that is a great run out.

Dragon green near Inverness airport today at around 13:00, was in a red passat estate coming the otherway.

Personally I think that most folks who do the big projects always end up disappointed but will never admit it, you put a lot of time and effort into something and expect it to be amazing and then it isn't so you just want rid of it.

ABS relays behind the glovebox. Was going to suggest the CL unit as the odds on both door locks failing are pretty slim but you know that now anyway! Waiting to see what the new VR is like as that has had a good attack with extra sound deadening material, although I still maintain most of the noise in a Corrado comes from the rear bench and rear arch area not the front, the self adhesive sound deadening foam does seem to make quite a difference when tap tested though.

Yeah watched that when it was on BBC 4 a few weeks ago, shocking when you think about it in modern context but back then it was just the norm.

Breaking Corrado 2l 16v blackberry show car all parts 99p start
Yandards replied to voo51's topic in Cars for Breaking
I am interested in the bonnet as its the right colour and does not need a rusty dent removing like my own blackberry. Not sure how to sort out collection or delivery mind as I am way up North and I know the only Corrado part that does not fit in a Corrado is the bonnet! -
It will also mess up the handling completely - tyre pressure also provide predicatable cornering behaviour - you get a lot more crabbing in the corner with under inflated tyres and you will wear them out faster as well. The 4 cylinder models run 38 at the front IIRC without looking at the stickers. Always ensure your tyres are at the correct pressure - if your back is playing up then I am going to guess you have coilovers or larger than standard rims..?
-
Always going to be broken no matter how old or expensive they get - it's just a question of demand and right now we are at the lowest point in the value of the car - just look at the way mk 2 prices have risen over the last couple of years whilst availability has dropped. I remember Goldie picking up a good oak green mk 2 valver at scene 38 in '07 or '08 for £1000, try finding one for that price now!
