G60 (removing carbon canister and pipework) advice needed
Riley replied to brookescourt's topic in Engine Bay
agreed 8) although a new bit of piping on mine has just transformed how the car drives so im gonna leave it for now :D neil. -
£400 i think fully comp with norwich union. with 3 points. :x
-
yeah id say mine was hesitant/bucking at around 4.5k but didnt pull, just power then not, power then not. was also the same on part throttle. update:it may be fixed! :D bought some vac pipe from the stealers today. made a new piece for the t body to cc thing on inner wing (1130mm long) and a new piece for the fuel pressure reg at 100mm long. both of the original ones were wrong,cc one was too short and fpr one was too long. all i can say is wow! seriously! the drive home from the unit was like being in a diffarent car man! it seems more laggy somehow, but when the power comes in,it comes in and stays! i hope it stays this way,may have just been intermittently fixed! neil.

does this have any effect on fuel consumption or anything? or even the fuel mixture? :? -

ahh, maybe the culprit then! when i say dodgy, its just that the outer fabric stuff has worn off,the inner rubber bit does look ok but i think ill replace it! does it have to be a certain length? cheers henny/stevemac. edit for pic:1130mm according to etka. i think mines a lot shorter than that! i notice how the ecu hose is diffarent lengths for diffarent chassis numbers too :? (not shown in the part numbers but n0.23 on pic) and how come it shows loads of diffarent bends/parts? for the ecu hose:? neil.

yeah, already cleaned it,just wondered if they got worn or anything?
-
at least were not alone with our problems m8   any way to check if the isv is bleeding boost when it shouldnt be?
-
aye,i think the injectors alright. :) i took some oil out, good to see that it was still nice and orangey, and didnt smell of fuel/gas. ill see how it goes for a bit now i think, just a case of putting up with the intermittent power. :( cheers guys, neil.

i reckon he should look at opening a place for us northerners

8) ill see how they go then ant,ill check em again in a week or so. any opinions on the oil being over filled?
-
do you think m8? not the oil being over filled? saying that though,it dosnt go lean when backing off the throttle, afr gauge goes to ok. is my lambda dead from all the oil? :?
-
unfortunately id guess at the matrix :( plenty of how too's knocking about though to help ya. have you had a feel at the carpets around the center console? neil.
-
i know richard at venom has used them in the past, dont remember him having any problems. i think its the same with any custom exhaust place though, depends wether its a donkey doing the work on that day etc...
-
i think it would, unless it was the wiring that was the problem if it had a bad connection.
-
id be unplugging both headlights, and using a 12v tester in the plug on each pin. un plug the dim/dip coil (in front of battery/yellow thing) test with side lights to find which pin they are,and test for low beam at each side and then high beam. worth checking the fuses as said. dodgy bulbs can sometimes cause this problem if the filament inside the bulb is broken and earthing. sounds like the bulbs are ok though. neil.

mmmm,i found a spare kicking about today, was gonna swap it for the hell of it. but when i picked it up,you can actually squeeze em,theyre not very hard plastic like i thought they were. neil.
-
same symptoms as what i had when my stat had died. power steering pump needs dropping, not too much hassle though. and when my water pump died  i had coolant pi$$ing out of the pump and it was boiling over out of the expansion bottle. neil.
-
pinking id imagine,or maybe it could work the other way too and be too sensitive? and cause the ignition timing to be retarded, meaning power loss? id wait till someone who knows what theyre on about answers tbh

cheers steve/ant,ill check the switches out 8) the linkage operates em,just a case of wether theyre doin owt or not. whilst having a go at a bike today  i left a nice cloud of blue smoke behind me :? went upto the unit and checked the oil level, whoops! but i am not to blame for it being over filled i dont run a cat so no real? problem there, but could it have damaged the lambda? i whipped the plugs out and obviously they didnt look too good! and on n0.1 the tip was bent up :? cleaned em up(theyre pretty new!) and stuck em back in,no real difference as yet.
