    Insurance

Insurance companies will always make a silly first offer. As Walesy said you need to gather evidence as the going price for a G60 of similar age and condition and present that to them! And keep battling, I wouldn't accept their first 2 offers!
  2. So have you had a custom remap then as it's now a 2ltr instead of a 1.8 or have you used a different chip??
  3. But even more impressive, Imagine trying to keep traction on a road with this: Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm
  4. I think you'll struggle to get 10" on the rear! I think 9" is the maximum??? Waht Diameter wheels are you thinking of??
  5. They are costly - but how far do you want to take it, costly intercooler but easy and simple fit. My intercooer setup was alot more than a G60 fit, the Forge intercooler was as much as a Golf G60 one, but then I had all the custom fit, pipework, custom made hoses etc etc. Was it really needed?? Well knowing as far as I wanted to take the car - I think it was!
  6. And the Bahnbrenner kit I think is basically a Charge Cooler. Once again darren is a bahn brenner agent so you could get it from him. But still I would say the Intercooler is a better option!
  7. But selbekk your answer is great if you want to spend alot of time and moeny putting the setup in, then you can invest in a RS4 bumper like mine and have a custom FMIC taking full advantage of the holes in the front. But this route was VERY costly in comparison the the Golf G60 (not the Rallye as it's different mountings make it foul on the car and more difficult to fit I believe! But Dub Style asked for an easy fit with little modification to make. This has to be the Golf G60 also thinking about it the off the shelf Jabba kit and I'm pretty sure darren aka g-man will have an off the shelf kit!

    air/fuel gauge

Oooof -Sorry for recommending a duff one!!
  9. The only one that easily fits is the Golf G60 intercooler as it slots in nicely infront of the Rad. I would say your best off ringing darren at g-werks for an easy solution
  10. It's not a major mileage car, but will be finr doing it! It's my weekend car so I have no quarms about doing mileage bar the huge fuel and methanol bill!!!! I've done as much as is possible to the charger!!!!!!!
  11. If you add a turbo or supercharger to create a 16VG60 then you can start to get big power. However I personally stuck with the 8v as bigger torque gains can be made and power is from torque not bhp! And how do I get that much from a G60 - read my gallery pages!
  12. Clean and stunning as ever Furks!
  13. 1. Why are there two fuel pumps on the g60? Would it not be enough with one? Only two on the early models - lates have one! 2. Why would you need a new chip when you fit a new pulley? How would a car with a smaller (i.e. 68mm) pulley work with an original chip? 68mm I believe will be fine with an standard chip, but if you make more mods like bore out the charger, fit bigger injectors and beyond you will need a new chip. A custom map will always make best improvements though! Ask g-man for a more definative answer! 3. How much hassle is it to fit a new-style dash and door cards to my '89 g60? Depends on how much you buy them for!!!!! Fitting is mot that hard just time consuming! 4. I've heard that my really early g60 didn't produce the 160 bhp stated. What were the differences, mechanically, and are they easily fixable? Not heard of any difference between early and late. I think any differences are minor and shouldn't affect power - speak to g-man for a more definative answer! 5. What, except the sheer volume, differs the 1.8l 16v and 2.0l 16v engines? Are they a better starting point for big power than the g60 engine? Definatly not a better starting point. At tops (without a turbo) you'll get I think 160-170bhp form a 16v I think (don's helmet awaiting barrage of abuse!!!!!) I'm currently aiming to achieve somewhere near or over 300bhp on my G60. But then I've spent far far far too much on mine! 6. I've noticed that some c's have a kind of "curled" lip on the under-dash shelves. Why? When were they delivered like this? ????? Pass ????
  14. Oil Pressure in your engine! Always a VERY good gauge to have! I personally think these pods are ugly, however there is an original pod for sale on ebay also, but starts at £50 - see my post in ebay and misc. (it's not mien before you ask!)
  15. GTI Spring Fest - Mine (fingers crossed) will be all run in and mapped and Tearing up the tarmac in a crazy fashion!!!!!!

    air/fuel gauge

I have the autometer cobalt gauge in a 52mm gauge however if your cars interioir is prodominatly standard then probably the best optionis the ones from http://www.duostyling.com as these fit in the parts ofyour dash where the blanking plates are! IIRC it;s the purple wire on the Lambda Sensor
  17. I've never heard of a G60 ripping off the wheels!!!!
  18. No, only available in white!
  19. They aren't actually backlit but the numbers and other white areas are made of a material that "glows" under electric current. I'll take pics later to show you all!
  20. Where's it gone? Perhaps if you asked it nicely it might come back????
  21. Din't know you could refurbish a driveshaft? What would they do to it, bearing in mind it's just a piece of solid metal! Wouldn't it be better to buy new ones?? Not making a statement there just asking the question!
  22. I use Bosch W5DPO from a G40!
  23. Well you never know - friends at the bbc and all I might just be able to help out at some point with getting in car footage done. Perhaps see if I can get the BBC to help us out filming. As you all know my next door neighbour works for the beeb as a researcher and sometimes does camera work - but they owe me a favour as I let them film in my house a little while ago!!!!
  24. Also when doing this you need to consider the size of the calipers as they are HUGE in comparison so not all wheels will fit over them. Need to be at least 16" but then you need to also take into consideration the spoke size as I had to buy new wheels to fit the brakes moving to porsche rims!
