The poor old Corrado is stuck in the garage after being blocked in by the Mk2 golf pile of junk !! So I treated her to a different steering wheel whilst staying genuine. I have even managed to source an overpriced Vw cupholder which I need to fix in place.

Correct, the clip in your link is for holding the top to the bottom unit. You need the big rubber stretchy ring. Used on other VW's ,so hopefully available somewhere

I've never heard of rubber banding 😁, but if you think the engine is moving, check it parked up. Rev the car with the bonnet open and watch what it does 👍

I always put super juice in mine. When I had my Ed 30 golf the car ran better and I also got better mpg from it. Love the fuel, but not the price. I'm not even using the unleaded rubbish in my petrol mower and equipment anymore. Everything starts great too

I don't believe the ones in the engine bay are for the windows etc, I would take the fuses out and test across for continuity.... then start looking for voltage elsewhere

Did the nearside as this was the fail side and checked the other side which doesnt move at all. I dont think I will be coming here again. They were keen to keep it and fix it the next day. .. I remember when decent garages would mark the faulty items, that says a lot.

Took Karmann for her MOT yesterday and she FAILED!! On suspension arm to ball joint dangerously loose.... so I took her back home, jacked her up and wheel off, nothing obvious when shaking things. Nothing obvious when I got the socket set on it. I had to get my breaker bar out just to move the 3 nuts on the ball joint and the two on the suspension leg. So disappointingly I've brought it back for a retest without actually finding a fault. Watch this space
