The fronts shouldn't need hoses as they are the same fitment, but I'm not sure about the rears. I know that the km4 rears require bango type fitment, but I would 'imagine' that the mk3 ones are the same as the Corrado.

A G60 uses 280mm discs (4 stud) so you can use them, but I'm not sure if all VR6's used 288 up front. Perhaps the early ones were the same as the Corrado VR6 and thus you can use the mk3 items. Our Golf VR has 288s, but its on a '97 model.

Is that not the one he said he read Rob? I would say so.... I would say that you'd be better off using as much of the 24v as possible. It will make it much easier to fault find and indeed, you should be able to get the engine diagnostics using VAG-com From what I can remember, the blocks are fairly similar (if not the same) so using the Corrado PAS brackets and pump to remove the Air-con is possible. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to confirm/deny that though.

100v line attached to the bodywork sounds good to me. The problem is they've got nothing better to do. Really feel for you dude. Gutted :(

Awesome work. This was the only thing I found lacking with the DDI gauges. What needles have you used in the pics?
-
I had exactly the same problem with the Eibach and Koni combo.

Nice work Sukh. The bay looks very OEM+ I love it. P.S. Sell the house, keep the car ;)

Including a big turbot?

So, when are you putting the BIG turbot on it? ;)

You'll have a lot of issues with trying to fit a DSG, I'd imagine. The DSG controller be on CAN (Controller Area Network), along with engine ECU, clocks, ABS, traction control etc etc, and it will probably require all of those ECUs to be on the network for it to function correctly. The problem lies with the network 'ring' that gets created when you power up the system. I'd expect that the DSG controller will need to 'see' CAN messages from all of the above (and maybe more ECUs in the vehicle) for it to maintain a steady ring. If there is something missing, the very best you could expect is a funk load of OBD trouble codes to be set, the worst would be that it would either go into a limp-home status and only give you a couple of gears or indeed not even allow gears to be engaged at all. It may be possible to either simulate some of the ECUs in the vehicle via some kind of small controller (CAN gateway) that outputs 'dumb' CAN messages, but you'd need to first of all log the data being transmitted on the CAN bus in a vehicle fitted with a DSG box and then decipher which messages are relevant, and then build or buy said controller. Not one of the easiest tasks. We've been doing a project at work to get an engine from one manufacturer to run and work in a car from another manufacturer, and it took us 5-6 weeks to get it working and that is using one of our CAN gateways, and having access to all the data from both manufacturers, so it's no mean feat! The other far far easier option is to use a donor car and transfer EVERYTHING from it. You'd need all the ABS stuff as well, as the vehicle speed is determined from that rather than a gearbox sensor, and you'll probably find that you'll need the 4WD, as the DSG controller will no doubt be 'talking' to the Haldex controller as well. HTH

No need Karl, that's all poop news :( Isn't there a DTA forum, I remember Kev mentioning at some point. That might be a good resource for a base map for the R32.

I reckon it looks a little like the batmobile

Those little mk1's are pretty solid cars, but that is a pretty scary picture to say the least. I do something similar. My Mum always said to me, if you have to make a choice whether you would make it or not, then you shouldn't.

That must have hurt..

how pi$$ed would you be if this happened to you

That has to be a revenge attack of some description. He's clearly annoyed someone a hell of a lot. As has been said, definitely not a few mindless vandals, someone has spent quite a lot of time doing that. Needless to say, I'd be livid if that had happened to my car.. -
You shouldn't break the engine, if you have the progressive controller. Are you going to run single injector, or are you doing one per port, Jonathan?

I'm gutted, I've always had to pay

Well, I wasn't expecting that :( So was it the CV gaiters then? Inner or outer?

These guys seem to have a wide selection of connectors :)

Christ, I thought something had happened to you! Looking forward to seeing this progress :) -
Bump Steer - Thoughts on upside-down track rod ends?
mrbeige replied to Supercharged's topic in Drivetrain
To be fair, I wouldn't think the front of the Corrado would be too dissimilar in weight to a mk2 Golf in 16v trim.. -

It'd be interesting to see how you get a round and square profile at the same time from a lathe. :study:
