Exactly the same thing happened to me last week. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17535 Yes, VW will only sell the pipe with a rack attached! Local garage had to get a replacement pipe made up for me, cost £40 in the end. Not bad that, I thought.

Born on new years eve, changed to a different colour and then sold to a crazy person on September 11th. This car has had a bad life!
-
I was thinking something similar as well. Maybe a whole page of thumbnailed pics of the cars that never made it onto the monthly page. That'd shift a few extra copies.

 Heh Heh... Should have read his sig...

Recognise the (ice voilet?) November one from the headlights. Who was it on here that saw it while over in Canada?

Dull headlamps...... They are a life saver!

Lucky. Hmmmm.... Dual deer versus Corrado @ 40mph Not one I'd like to call. Just as well you never had blue neon washer jets. The deer would've side stepped your car and started throwing rocks at it! -
... As a lorry! Are you sure it's not the headlights causing a short when they're switched on :?:

A £200 Mini, and with the rest, enough lager and crisps to sink an oil tanker! :hic:

Right. Just had my hard-faced head on and phoned DVLA who put me onto some bloke in the Department For Transport. Just phoned this bloke up (a Mike Dark no less!) but he was away from his desk. Got his email though, and this is what i've just sent. Lets see if we get any joy on how many are still knocking around, eh? Edit- Oh, and after the usual goverenment start to his email address, it finished in .gsi.golf.net maybe he's like minded!

Jeisus. I'm glad mine's off the road for a little while. Seems like the world is out to hurt a few Corrado's at the minute.. Hop it all comes out in the wash for the pair of yers. :|

God only knows. Probably gnawed through by mischievious chav snails in a revenge attack for the slug pellets I put down in the garden. Damn those invertibrate mollusc maniacs!

Nightmare! Just got off the phone to the garage, and apparently one of the pipes on the steering rack had worn through. Garage bloke gets on to VW only to be told they don't sell this pipe seperately, you have to buy the whole rack! Surely that can't be right? Anyway they're supposedly getting a pipe made up, so it'll be tomorrow when i get the car back. :( Dy'a reckon they're pulling my leg over this pipe though?

Nice one Bobby. If the diagnosis aint good, you may well be getting that PM. :salute:

Bugger. Looks like I spoke too soon. Checked the power steering fluid level earlier, and it's on the way down again! Leak's not coming from the pipe I tightened up, but somewhere else I can't quite see. Friggin thing's in the garage now getting looked over (or under as the case may be) So. If the worst case scenario comes off, and I need a new PAS pump, can I use one off a 1.8 16V Golf? Not that it'd help me to find a second hand one any easier. Suppose they're getting as scarce as Rado's now.

Affraid I'm with Gibber on this Oakley. Apart from one of the blokes in there completeley blanking me in reception to the point where I *Really* considered dragging him over the desk to get his attention, the job they most recently done to my car (New gear linkage) left it with a rattling rear exhaust, a heat sheild which looked like it'd been peeled away with a chainsaw, and a problem where sometimes I cannot physically de-select reverse! No doubt not everyone who uses them ends up with the catalogue of problems I had AFTER they got their mitts on it, but I certainly won't use them again unless it's an extremeley Corrado specific job. (Just my opinion, of course.) :|

Who's been upsetting the Type R people ?
Louie Lungbubble replied to DanA's topic in General Car Chat
The Civic type R is way too common for sure. But I'd have an Accord type R any day. Beautiful motor. Albeit after losing the (I think optional) gigantic rear spoiler. -

Hmmm... Just registered, but it's saying the topic or post no longer exists. Had it gotten SO heated that it was pulled by one of their mods? -
What about an Alfa GTV / Spider. My missus is thinking thinking about one, but it's just the unreliability of the bleedin things that puts her (me) off.

Fit only for vivisection.

Thank Gorrd for that... Trimmed the end off a split hose and changed a jubilee clip to stop the leak, topped up the res with Hulk blood, and away we went. :) The pump doesn't sound any worse for it's scrape with dryness, and hopefully should last as long as it was ever going to. What's the score with bleeding though? Went lock to lock a few times with the lid off the resovoir. Is that it, or is there anything else I should've done? Cheers.

How about some pictures of our members ?
Louie Lungbubble replied to Trilidon's topic in Members Gallery
Can't see the similarity myself.... -
Ok, Vag stuff it is. What's the difference between this and atf fluid though? Seem to remember the resovoir had atf written on top of it. And yes Steve, it could've been the pump, but I'm hoping it'll shut up howling when i give it a drink. Fingers crossed! :|

Was fighting through traffic to get home earlier when my car started making all kinds of totured howls. Seemed to scream louder when the steering wheel was turned. Eventually got back home and in the last 50 yards had little or no power steering at all. Had a butchers under the bonnet, and have found a leak from the hose under the power steering fluid resovoir and it was completeley empty. Question is, will i kill the power steering pump if i drive to the VW dealers tomorrow to get the bits for the job? (5 miles) Also, does it HAVE to be VW, or will any other stuff do? Cheers.

SOME OF THE WORST CORRADOS EVER... RICED !!!!!!! NOOOOOO ;-)
Louie Lungbubble replied to chris CORRADO's topic in Exterior
Which one was yours Gibber? The interior trim detail on this one looked like how you've done your Golfs.
