  1. D'oh! Bit of a pisser that mate. Happened to me years ago. Heart booked a holiday to Bali and I was incontinent for 3 months. And that was only on a Grifter back tyre! :shaking: Would've made a good avatar pic if you'd captured your face when that thing went bang!
  2. Pulling out Southbound from Charnock Richard services earlier today. Dark blue G60 K*** YRN. Right behind me for about 10 seconds, till he decided to demonstrate how a supercharger works  And unlike mine at the time (which had about 150 miles worth of the M6 all over it) Looked very clean. Got a wave when I eventually caught up with him too. Anyone?
  3. Just got back from a weekend in The Lakes, and the owner of the b&b we stayed in asked me for my car keys in case he had to move my motor around their (small) car park. Upon seeing the ignition key, he pipes up and says "Ahhh a VW eh, Whatcha got?" I tell him, and he seems suitably impressed. He then proceeds to tell me that he's got a VW too. An old Golf. Old Golf to me = Mk2, so I'm there assuming I've got bragging rights in this conversation. Goes round the back to park up with my Chuftie Badge firmly on, and the old b@st@rd must be laughing his balls off at me.. 12 month old R32! Tw*t!
  4. I superglued a wagon wheel to the back of my Cortina a few years back. Does that count? I'll get me coat. :turn-l:
  5. Welcome aboard mate. :) Is yours an American spec car then?
  6. I'm trying my best to get that up to 4, but she's gone all gooey eyed over Alfa GTV's (Possibly the only car MORE unreliable than a 'Rado)
  7. Stevemac's probably onto the culprit there chfs911. Somewhere in my service history it warned that my top front mounts were on their way, and there's no record of them being replaced. Wonder if this is what's causing mine to oversteer too? Always assumed it'd be something at the arse end of the car causing it. Think I'm due a trip to the oily geezers.
  8. Found this track a while back, which I've always thought is gonna get me banned one day. http://www.epitonic.com/files/reg/songs ... ppened.mp3 Just Have to Go Faster...!!!
  9. Dunno about shining your tailpipe with it, but I've heard it's ok when you run out of gin! :gag:
  10. Is it stainless mate? If so, or even if not, get down to a B&Q and buy some Green or red 3M abraisive clotch (aka ScotchBrite), a cheapo can of aerosol stainles steel cleaner and a large tube of elbow grease. We use ScotchBrite all the time in work. Puts a sort of fine grain on dirty metal. Dont forget to apply that elbow grease in a uniform direction though, or it'll end up scoured, and looking like you went to work on it with a brillo pad. HTH
  11. Top piece of accent spelling. The only thing which took a bit of the gloss away from this blokes appreciation of my car was that he then climbed into a Rover.
  12. NER - NER.... Got my first Corrado related comment of 2005 last night. Was walking back to the car which was in the furthest, emptiest corner of my local ASDA's car park, when some bloke who was walking ahead of me stops, turns round to see me opening the door, and shouts over "Nice motor feller... I've always loved them." 15 minutes later, I thought of something witty I could've bounced back to him, but all I managed at the time was "Oh, er... Cheers mate." So I've now been officially reminded why I bother! (1-0 to me!)
  13. Awww... Poor little Mickey! bighands, How the hell did you catch it with.... a giant clothespeg ??
  14. I was told by the garage that my dizzy was leaking, but not so much inside the cap as all down the side of the engine! Think I remember the mechanic tellin me there's a little breather hole in the thing which was where it was dripping from. I too was told it's a non fixable problem. (I.e. New dizzy) - Bugger. Sort of hoping some-ones gonna tell me otherwise, but I doubt it. Rough price for a new or recon unit any-one? Edit - Just seen post above. Nice one
  15. Yeah. My post invovled the use of gas. A bit ropey really. Watch the news tonight. All will become clear
  16. Post deleted. Just heard on the news what today is. :|
  17. Mum says I'm special needs.
  18. Benji's right mate. You need a timing light, not loads of neon lights!!
  19. Was reading this nightmare thread thinking - "Ah well, I've spent nothing on mine in the year I've had it. Been lucky compared to most on here" Then I had a quick flick through my history and totted it up.... £120 New Immobiliser £145 2x Tyres £148 All belts changed £60 Windscreen excess £125 Gear shift cable £40 PAS pipe replaced £119 2x Tyres (Again) £120 for Oils, Serviceable bits, trim, and an unexpectedly cheap MOT fix Total? Getting on for £850. In a year! That's probably more than I've spent in the last 14 years maintaining all my previous sheds put together, and I STILL think I've gotten of lightly. God, Corrados... You love the cogs of 'em, but they don't half curb your drinking!
  20. Best of luck mate. Hope it's as good as it looks.
  21. Dunno if this is any help, but......... If not, try the members gallery. will be tonnes there. Edit. Just realised Mine's got the later grille too. But then, you knew that!
  22. Nice looking motor that, riley. Get down there and have a look! 8)
  23. Lee. Have you no shame? How could you publicly post pics of your engine bay with it in THAT state? Get it cleaned mate!!!
