  1. mike - have you decided not to go with a g60 box with vr 1, 2 cogs again?
  2. looks different - and nice and clean! I haven't changed that pipe or its routing since removing the carbon cannister. its the correct pipe yes.
  3. found an older picture but with a better view
  4. see attached. not the best picture - but does that help?
  5. its been described as a suicide pulley before - but not sure if it is actually seriously detrimental to the health of the charger - whether some track abuse will pop it! lol I can't see it though - sure its a case of keep it well maintained like everything else.
  6. 10-20bhp is quite a lot! keeping that in mind for the future then...
  7. LOL! You're one step ahead mate!
  8. just make sure you dont turn your fans on to hot air when you have a cold refreshing drink in one of the the holders ;)
  9. mike when you fitted the 65mm on the old raddo - did you notice a significant increase in power compared to a 68mm? Likewise - since i've the BV head fitted - every other mod now should get increased benefits. the 65mm pulley might be worth looking at...
  10. thats all good information - thanks :) better put my reading glasses on...
  11. Some answers for whoever is interested. 1) 305mm can be used it seems. Ferodo DS2500 pads are also available. Stil can't find out whether other rotors are available - but I am assuming floating discs and bells could be used from AP given the dimensions are the same. Could anyone confirm that - or point me to somewhere I could find out please? 2) The new Boxster S calipers are quite different to the std Boxster design - they are monoblocks that are used from their GT cars - however depending on age this may or may not be true. 3) Seems gwerks or badger5 should be able to help or re-direct. just from what i have read - not based on asking each of them directly. 4) Still don't know this. Anyone? Hopefully that will help out the next lonely person who wants to find this information out on here. Do people use other forums to ask these kinds of questions?
  12. 'considering'. does anyone know what red taps they have to go through before something like this is passed?
  13. I've done some searching on here and around - just had a few questions about the setup that I can't get answered though - maybe someone could help? Before I continue saving for the AP Racing kit... 1) What discs and pads can be used? Seat Brembo 305mm x 28mm and Ferodo DS2500s? Can discs from other brands be used - for example AP discs? I'm after discs that can dissipate heat very well... 2) Are these calipers/above setup heavy? One of the reasons I was keen on the APs... 3) Brackets, Carriers and hoses - have people got these from badger5? Do you need custom brackets or can the Seat carriers be used? 4) Does anyone know the clearance these calipers require? Thanks
  14. my borbet b's will be for sale shortly - a friend may take them - but otherwise.... ;)
  15. Not sure if you had a big valve head on your last car - but just fitted one to mine and the difference is huge. Mines not a CNC head though - BV jabbasport head that i've had worked on further at agra eng. you'll love it either way!
  16. looks well - but i'd imagine you'll have to raise the platforms a bit!
  17. I did that for 11 months - drove an old estate car that cost me £270. Its now scrapped and I got £40 back for it. Meant I could do some work to the G60 without costing me loads, saved money, then at the end paid the cash to get the final stuff done by a specialist. Now I have my car back and it rocks.
  18. that link doesnt show anything for me,...
  19. I also see what you're saying! But to be perfectly honest - thats more likely to throw money away. I truly think what you need now is to hand the car over to someone who will find the problem AND fix it. These sorts of garages really aren't as expensive as you think. In summary, at Star Perf I got the below done; - fit center section of exhaust - fit mocal oil cooler - fit suspension with top mounts etc - wheel alignment/tracking etc - set up timing, fuelling - rolling road - mot/2 drop links/rear wheel bearings Got it back, running better than it ever has done (in 2.5 years) and a bill of £670 inc vat. Yes the amount is a lot - but I don't think its too unreasonable for all the work done. The worksmanship was great and I can't complain. And now I can enjoy the car - not see it as a burden and drain on finances. Hopefully that will persuade you! Even get yourself a cheap set of wheels to claw back some cash to pay someone to fix it.
  20. I still think the same as what I posted before. You should bite the bullet and take it to a specialist - not your local VW specialist - but a 'tuning shop' and leave it with them for a week - get it back and have the problem fixed. You WILL enjoy the car a lot once you get that problem fixed. I had a few things I wanted done on mine - and I settled on the idea of getting a good garage to set the car up and do other jobs regardless of the cost or length of time to do it. I knew it was in good hands and that they're totally fair. Now I have it back - got a fair sized bill - but the car is superb - back in love with it again - I'm now able to start booking track days instead of thinking of problems etc. Sounds like you need to do the same and overcome your issue with it. Besides - whos to say swapping over engines won't bring its own host of issues - potentially more - and again, wasting your money.
  21. PMSL!!! check out the difference in the colour! Its nuts! "People should be more careful with them - you never know where they might lead you." honestly wtf...
  22. 8mm or 10mm spacers max - and not quite as low as yours ;) it needs to perform on track! am going to the bodyshop for a few things tomorrow AM - so will enquire about rolling the arch lips. sad that 215s would be too wide for the car. they're all good on my current 16s. still.... those RCs are just awesome - love em.
  23. sounds fair enough to me.
