  1. sorry! mattig do them - but not sure where to get them from - asked a few times on here and no-one knows
  2. read my reply about how to fit it on the other thread VR6 has posted up.
  3. - remove the old bottom tabs - get 2 'L' shaped brackets (90deg) from B&Q - spray them black - using holes provided in the L shaped bracket (or drill new ones), use self tapping screws to fix the brackets into the correct positions for your early slam panel - put insulating tape around the part of the bracket that sits in the slam panel costs about £1.50 and works better than gluing.
  4. personal opinion: there is nothing else available that looks more ridiculous than a car bra - honestly... i hate them with a passion. fact: its the front bumper that gets stone chipped the most - not the top lip of the bonnet - its a daft fashion accessory (my front bumper is chipped in plenty of places - and the bonnet has barely any marks on it...) thats about 4p ;)
  5. Tried an S1 Elise today - not sure what model number/name - but it was the basic 118bhp models. Thought the power was poor - felt ridiculously slow after stepping out of my G60. So if you thought the 135 was underpowered... Could try a 160 but they're not that common around here. The feeling of the brakes was dreadful. It had been sitting in a garage so the brakes weren't at their best, but still... - a friend told me I would be shocked but you get used to them apparently... Again braking was very unlike the one I was out on track with. Steering is a lot lighter than that of the S2 - not sure I liked that - quite liked the heavier handling. Not tried a VX220T - they unfortunately don't do it for me. I think I'll try one to get a balanced view though. Just a Kseries S2 left to try. Got to admit - the interior of the S1 I seen today was really shabby. My 16 year old Corrado looks countless times better by comparison. Got me thinking - next time round I'll pay the extra for a newer car already in fantastic condition. The garage said that going by the book - a Corrado G60 would fetch £750! Jokers. Then said, hmm we'd give you maybe up to £2k for it. Ahem, cya...
  6. Ah thats it - thought it was 4x4 - must be wrong. but yes green with black mo's i think. was 360bhp too. wondered if anyone had links to a spec/photos
  7. how much is the resulting cost of 4x4'ing?
  8. Anyone know where I can get info on this car - I can remember it was for sale on here maybe a year ago - but interested to see if theres info on it on the web somewhere - have searched but can't find anything...
  9. Cheers :) I bet your mfa readings are a source of comedy ;) I am enjoying the car now - much better than it ever has been - although after the work I've put in I should bl00dy hope so!! Got 2-3 test drives lined up this week in an assortment of Elises though. I'm in mid decision (when am I not with this car?) - spend £3-5k on the Corrado on brakes, handling mods (arbs, stiffer springs, different bushes, adjustable top mounts etc etc), gearbox, seats, cage and tyres - or just sell up and move on to an Elise (or similar variant). Hard to know just how much better a Corrado would be after that amount of work and with the suspension properly setup. Have seen what an Elise is capable of now. Need to get back out on track in the Corrado next month really.
  10. get a video up - let us see ;)
  11. What figures do you want me to get? Around 90mph after 10 mins I'd see around 100-102 degreesC. But thats running at 3750-4000rpm so I would expect it to run reasonably hot. The car was pinking slightly so the timing had to be retarded by 2 degrees - slightly lost its edge which is disappointing - but still much better than before. Fitted Vibratechnics mounts all round now - Competition on the front, Fast Road on the two rears - feels more solid, without a doubt a lot less movement, gear shifting I feel is probably unchanged (but I don't particularly like the Corrado shifting anyway) - very slight additional vibration through to the cabin due to the stiffer gearbox mount, but barely noticeable. Should have done this ages ago. Loving the car now and gone through so much with it - but tried an Elise 111R this weekend and want to try a few other S1s and an earlier S2. Had mixed feelings from the 111R, but on the whole I really enjoyed it - and comparing each on track against my Corrado left me a bit saddened - they can't be matched. Focus is quickly moving towards having a track car - not sure the Corrado is the right tool. May be moving on this year.
  12. s1 elise with an i-vtec engine fitted - what a brute.
  13. Went for a test drive in an 111R today. Totally different to a Corrado and not really comparable. Loved it - thought it was excellent fun - steering, cockpit layout and positioning, grip (lush) etc etc etc. had a few gripes though: the high clutch, brakes weren't as good as I was anticipating (but I'm putting it down to courtyard time - plus read below for an on-track account) and the toyota engine... i didn't particularly like how it lacked torque from under 6k then went comparatively wild on the 2nd cam. Going to try an older Elise with a KSeries engine as they apparently have more torque on offer and don't hike up in power towards the latter end of the rev range. On track though - went out in one and the braking ability (new pads) was blinding. I am sure my Corrado didn't go round the corners that quickly :( Met ColinT from ScottishVAG in his Mk2 1.8T too - I can see why so many people put them in Mk2s and Corrados - his car was flying!
  14. bah - get your elbows into it ;) did the swg cover fit ok?
  15. hmm - when my g60 was standard i couldnt take a CTR but there wasn't much in it. i would have thought a std vr should take one.
  16. Forever adding things to 'the list'. As it gets things done, more gets added. I've got a lot of things done though - mechanically the cars sorted pretty much now. only thing to grumble about is the paintwork. but since i'm going to be tracking it several times monthly funds permitting - theres no point in worrying about that. as long as i quickly nip any rust in the bud - been good so far in that respect. So i'll continue to replace/uprate/clean/paint parts and after every track day decide what needs to be changed based on its performance (or lack of). no doubt the list will quickly grow again. engine mounts, wheels, brakes, higher rated springs, gearbox/clutch/flywheel are my next jobs. its all about the function here...
  17. who says I'm going to do it LOL!
  18. i heard youtube does a cracking job. worth you guys checking it out ;)

    Which Seats??

it can get plenty hot enough in dundee - been marked as the sunniest city in britain (well maybe scotland) ;)
  21. handy read - going to do this in the next fortnight
  22. is the dot 5.1 fluid better? is it possible to upgrade the servo?

    Which Seats??

i'll second the heat. on a hot day with the sun on the leather - its bloody hot when you first get in

    Which Seats??

not sure about the r32 seats and airbags the gt3 seats are very expensive too. those tt seats look nice - and if its that direction you want to go in - then there are loads of seats to choose from - inc recaro seats. all will need corrado subframes made up. comes back to the line between comfort and hold. blue_joe put in porsche seats of some kind - they look great but not sure theyre what youre after
  25. _leon_

    Which Seats??

the r32 seats look like they give more support - although lovely - not sure if they totally suit the interior of a corrado. for proper support though - i think you'd have to leave the oem seats behind - unless porsche gt3 seats ;)
