you're best to replace every bolt you remove around the charger anyway. you could try fitting in the hex head and tapping it in with a mallet - or since you want to replace them anyway - try a torx head that fits. dont turn slowly as you could round/distort the head easily. quick sharp turns may free it. that works for me when hex bolts become stuck -
looks like a lot of hard work youre putting in there. well done mate :) looks great - keep us posted!

interesting read - cheers bud

and after a good clean... gave it the clay bar, scratch-x and a wax to protect until next go. looks a good bit better... lots of other things being fitted too. though cosmetically, the grill and plates needs to be changed next. -
dragging this one up from the grave :) so - lightened g60 flywheel or is it worth buying a lighter flywheel (e.g. fidanza)? what are the aftermarket options?
-
how do compare to the AP kits? read that track users change the brembos for ap racing equivalents...
-
definitely - the new owner will be a happy chap! btw - where did you get the plates made up please?
-
did i read that hammerite doesn't withstand oil?
-
my manifold (g60) only cost £30 to get powdercoated - and it was a great finish. So probably a lot more affordable than you think!
-
were they expensive (the seats)? i'm sure i've seen a rallye thats had the harnesses draped over the seats from a rear strut bar.
-
and btw - those seats look fricking awesome. i'd be more concerned about the security of those rather than stereo equipment ;)
-
it doesn't necessarily have to be mdf
-
weight - i don't think the weight difference will be at all significant. wouldn't be something i would be concerned about if i was changing to 17" and adding a roll cage! security - can see what you mean - not sure what you have there but you'd no doubt lose some of it by removing the rear seats. if its a car for thrashing i'd get rid of it anyway ;)
-
is the cage welded or bolted in? I too think the seats would be best taken out. you could easily use hooks and a net to create boot space - and keep them folded or hidden when not required. if youre carrying a few heavy things e.g. tool boxes - then create a 3" lip to stop things from sliding down past the 'boot' space. easy
-
powdercoated mine matt black and looks great
-
dragging this back up again. anyone know where a badgeless grill with 2 bottom tabs can be bought? (before i cut up a std 3 bar grill to fit)
-
wish my battery tray looked like that !! like the look of those batteries - was the routing easy enough? whats the black box? i take it a charge cooler is going there - or just weight reduction ;) wouldnt mind one of those rear braces either myself.
-
I can't answer questions 2 and 3 as I don't have a fmic fitted. though for sealant - i have used blue silicon gasket sealant (bought from halfords i think) to seal the old silencer box. Worked well.
-
I haven't driven a valver - but the g60s are a lot of fun. but they are definitely a car you'll end up modding a lot - as theres so much available to do. just try lots of both and see what you think.
-
henny used chipwizards i think. if its just setup then it'll be labour only - hard to say i know just the feeling - same with a few issues I've had - probably within my ability labour-wise - just don't have all the know-how to understand what to do
-
maybe worth taking it to a tuner - anywhere that really knows their stuff close by - i know from my own experience trying to fix it yourself can take forever
