connecting the analogue audio might not be a problem but what about letting the hu know that it has an extra input and what that input is?? as when you plug in a cd-changer it knows what it is and displays cd-changer and when i plugged in the tv tuner it displayed tv tuner on the screen on the hu, i think the add on modules for the ip bus system each contain circuitry for identifying themselves. i use the aux inputs that came on the tv tuner if i need extra inputs.
-
if your talking about the pioneer ip-bus system its not quite as simple as making a lead up, as there needs to be certain signals going to the hu to tell it what the input is. im pretty sure the ip-bus system is a multi-plexed digital link system and does not contain analogue audio signals i will ask a mate who is a real car audio boffin he should know for sure.

Get a LUK clutch - G60 Sachs ones ain't anywhere near as good just fitted my new sachs clutch and it looked identical to the original luk one except the metal casing seems slightly thicker on the sachs notice the bit missing on the luk one that bit is about a mm thicker on the sachs

false floor has to be the best way to go for the sub and you can hide all the cables (and you dont really have to get rid of the spare)

its quite easy to replace just undo the four screws in the clock surround (two at the top and two under the plastic covers at the bottom carefull not to break the clips off) then remove the surround it helps to have the steering column at its lowest setting you shouldnt have to remove the clock unit remove the two screws at the sides of the clocks that hold the plastic front cover in place, the front cover should then hinge forward and unclip you should then just have to pull the fuel/temp gauge out and push the new one back in it would probably be worth checking the old one to make sure its not a loose connection or part of the mechanism has come loose

a lot of people have said about this, i think its normal mine used to do it before i changed the clutch when it exploded (nothing to do with the creaking dont worry) i gave all the pivot points on the clutch release arm a good coat of copper slip and i think that helped as long as the clutch still works well and feels ok i wouldnt worry about it
-
do you mean creaking or cracking??

i was going to just keep the wheels the standard colour as they seemed in very good condition as i was cleaning them up, however after i had got them all spotless i noticed one was a different colour a slightly lighter silver than the rest, and altough it would probably not be noticiable on the car i decided to spray them in a vw metalic black (anthracite i think the same as my bosses toureg) what do you think ...................(phone camera sorry)

biggerbigbens=not finnished yet and its allready my favorite  SpencerTramm = the dragster corrado just for the sheer power and noise  a20lee = deserves a lot of respect, the standard of work is sh*t hot, even if its not to everones taste (it would be pretty boring if everyones c looked like it has just rolled off the production line) henny = just for proving what you can squeese out of a g60(including allen bolts)
-
im hoping to get the car up to show standard soon so would like to hear peoples opinions on doing the wheels a different colour or should i just stick with the stock silver inner, polished rim and chrome bolt heads? the inner parts are allready in pretty good shape so im not sure about getting them painted.

-
just started stripping down the bbs rm's i bought from redlee the rims are allmost done just a final polish and laquer. i was just wondering what the main part of the wheel would look like in a different colour, i have seen a set of rm's on a sport line in black and they looked pretty cool. i was thinking either a darker silver or maybee a metalic black just not sure what would look best on a tornado red c anyone got any pics??

my new caddy has the 1.9tdi it is quite funny wasting chavs away from the lights  as i pulls like hell from low down, it just gets incredibly boring on a long drive and if i slow down and then try to accelrate straight away the turbo lag is a nightmare :( i am driving down to portsmouth for a funeral on wednesday and i could use the van with free fuel but i am going to use the corrado even though it will cost a fortune in fuel as the van is just sooo damn boring on a long drive mates of mine who also do a lot of driving for thier jobs have told me that they are getting bored of driving i drive more miles on average than most of them put together but i cant wait to get behind the wheel of the c when i get home even after a 300 mile drive from scotland 8)

a mate of mine has just bought a brand new golf 1.4 16v he used to have a lupo sport and they both seem to use the same engine. does anyone know if he could get a chip for the golf anywhere or would the lupo sport mod chip work ?? he has had a look around for a chip but there dosnt seem to be one availiable yet for the new golf :?:

tell me about it i have the bruises on my arms to prove it and my fingers got cut to shreds on the bell housing edges. as the c was jacked up so high i didnt want to risk denting the wing by leaning on it so i dropped the box on my arm from underneath  im sure it didnt hurt that much when i changed the clutch on a mates tipo  was also a good excuse to gunk the gearbox 8)
-
yes you can remove the slave with the shift cables still in place and the gearbox mount. just undo the two mounting bolts and remove it towards the rear oh the car it should be under a bit of tension as the slave is spring loaded i spent all day saturday changing the clutch on mine on my own
-
gunk works 10 times better when its warm try running your engine till its warm, not too hot though and i have also found it helps to put the gunk container in a bucket of warm water before you use it
-
i just spent a couple of days cleaning my engine bay and it was covered in that wax. when i finnished i sprayed the whole lot with a layer of teflon oil which apart from keeping it looking nice and shiney stops any more crud sticking to it and should keep the moisture out 8)

123,000 miles but the clutch surface did not have much wear and the flywheel isnt grooved at all and its the original one. i posted a while ago about a slack feeling when applying power and lifting off and as all of the damper springs are slack i think i found the problem
