The engine mounts are: One at the front where the engine and the box join and it bolts to the front cross memeber, big rubber thing really easy to find, Two one at the back of the box, there is a support that runs from the box to it, you may need to whip the expansion tank out of the way to see it Third is hard to see on a valver because the inlet 'fold/throttle body is in the way but it underneath there They basicly make up a triangle shape, best way to test is to get some one in the car to rev it and just watch how much the lump moves, it should move a bit(its gotta have flex) but you can use your judgement as to wether its too much or not. If they havent been replaced, it could be worth while getting it done, not too expensive and pretty easy to do

I just got my new clutch master cylinder through the door from euro carparts and i checked it against my old one and its slightly different, where it hooks onto the actual pedal mine has a plastic bit with a hole in it that slides onto the pedal but the one i got has a ball on the end, is there a difference or do i just pull the plastic bit off my ols one and fit it to the new one???? i deffo ordered one for a 1990 G60, anyone got any ideas?? Yeh man ive had the exact same problem, ive swapped a few tanks about and its still happening so i figure it must be manky wiring somewhere, basicly if your water is at the right level just ignore it :mad:

Aparently they came from the factor riveted so if yours arent riveted then its likely they have been changed -
Yeh man im almost quite a bit through re-building my G60 and ill tell you one thing its cost me a lot more than i first budgeted for, all VWs own parts tho its the sort of thing ye cant skimp on. Where abouts in scotland do you live, im up in Aberdeen?

My old golf did the exact same as this when a bit of crap got picked up in the fuel line and bloked it, it would fire up and rev but then die, check the fuel filter and work in from there

You probably have a square plate covering the hole to the water jacket thats all, no-one able to help then??

Right people here is a piccy, its a bitty shit but the circled are is about wher the hole is, if you squit you might be able to see it :lol: , but you get the general idea, any ideas?? Cheers Ross

Ill get a pic up tonight when i get home but the hole itself is just a bit bigger than what you would need to put a pen tip into, it is quite small, any ideas henny??
