isn't an ABS system a pump, a brain and some speed sensors? Fit them as factory and then use Vaux diagnostics to tell the main ECU that it's there and fit the warning light? I may be over simplifying somewhat but surely if the same model has it as an option...

headlights-left-on buzzer's come in kit form from maplin mate, about £5 (or grab one of something else in a scrappy)

Is a three letter engine code relevant to just the engine block or is it the application i.e. turbo version = AXX non-turbo = BNY so does this mean they are essentially the same except turbo and loom or are they likely to be different blocks too? no, that's right (technically). The McLaren SLR tank empties in 19 minutes at full chat so I doubt the Veyron's much different. lol never thought about it like that but i doubt a fuel stop would half the average speed, good theory though 8) be careful you don't become dillusionsal though (just finished watching a beautiful mind:lol:)

I would say people's definition of "without serious chopping" would vary wildly. There are no dashes that you just put in place of a C dash (not strictly true I know), and anything else is a possibility with the right skill/knowledge/credit card! TVR dash in a C springs to mind 8)

Whoever asked "when did overtaking become illegal?" hit the nail on the head. It seems totally frowned on and I have no idea why. I drive a lot in West Wales and there is an almost polarised level of skill, some people will just zip past smoothly and safely when there's a chance. But the majority are just as happy to sit 10ft from your rear bumper (whether you're being held up or not), then when they thinks it's safe, pull out and floor it in 5th - no acceleration at all so you end up having to slow down to let them back in! Another ppet hate is the queue of cars scenario. You sit at the back of the tailgaters and leave a safe distance. So then the cars behind you overtake into the gap in front (because you left a safe distance) and cause they can't overtake the tailgaters ahead, you just end up one car back, and then the next car does and you're two cars back....etc.etc. which unfortunately leads people to taligate and the vicious circle continues.
