Cheers guys, I've got it cranking now (dodgy earths - thanks quicky1980!) Update - the starter is getting 14v (ign at II) when the C is hooked up to a running car, but when I turn it over it doesn't really try to crank at all, just sounds like a normal car with a flat battery - even though there's plenty of juice coming from the escort. I think ignition is unlikely as it functions fine up to II. Any Ideas on what to try next?

ok well just got everything wired up and connected, go the battery hooked up to the escort and everything works. EXCEPT, the starter won't engage. Fuel pump primes and all lights/windows/wipers/fans etc. work but nothing hap pens when you turn the key to start, no noises no nothing! Gutted. Any ideas on what i need to try? I don't know what needs to be shorted to at least try the starter. I don't have the knock sensors connected, and the clutch needs bleeding - would these matter? HELP!

Replaced headlight switch... and potential disaster

exactly mate , if your cars well alight then that would light the road up hence no need to fix the headlight switch .... genius  LMAO  :cowboy: :onfire: -
Cheers Rob, yeah posted on so-wal the minute i saw it lol! hoping someone local with a tow rig could help me out Walesy, cheers - yeah looks like I'll have to get it back on the road within 14days (although there's nothing stopping them clamping me again the minute they take the clamp off) or i don't get £120 of the £200 fine back

Just got home and the C's been clamped! My fault as i thought you could have a car SORN'd if it was outrside your house - not the case. So here's the crack - does anyone PLEASE have a means to remove my car and store it for a week (brakes are siezed) in the Cardiff area? I will pay you of course but the fecking thing needs to be taxed (and therefore MOTd) within 14 days (on top of the £200 fine) So I've got to get it somewhere that I can finish it off by then (doesn't actually need anything too major). Can anyone please help? Cole

Anyone with any knowledge of these? I read somewhere that the larger Eaton's cost up to 150hp to run which obviously I don't have to spare on a 2L. So is the M112 too big? The mini cooper s/c is a no go so it's prettty much the M64, M92 or the M112 - anyone got an opinion?

Sumps? Where we're going; we don't need, sumps. -
Spot on Trig, I remember measuring Walesy's Autowatch fob, it'll all go in there no worries and I should think you could retain the led flash if you were careful with the ol' soldering iron. I'll be doing it once I get an Autowatch.

My thoughts exactly ;) -
Isn't the certificate just to prove it's been installed properly? if it's a standard immobiliser (i.e. fitted at the factory), why would they want it?
-
I like the way the boxster has them just recessed into the top of the bumper at the side, lose em off the panel and stick some there 8)

Anyone made their own switchblade key with an OE immobiliser

Got a knock on the door this morning at 04:30. The cops, some bright spark has had a go at the escort. Now I wouldn't usually care but I was just getting it ready to sell to fund the rest of the C project and I am fecking furious!!! They levered the pass door open and it's now fecked, pulled the cowl off the column (that's broken too) and looked in the glove box. Total stolen: feck all  I'm just speechless, why would anyone bother FFS!? standard ford stereo, an umbrella and 10p on the driver's seat (nope, they didn't even take that!). The whole car's barely worth £500 Oh and the cops said that someone'd be round to dust it for prints, haven't seen anyone yet . Gonna buy a paintball gun in case I ever see anyone trying anything again (especially the C).
