Hi all, Pretty much just musing at the mo as there are a hundred things this could be but on the way back from London (to Cardiff) today the old girl was running rough as a badger's ass: Stuttered on the starter for too long before starting Noticeable flat spot/hesitation between 1k and 2.5k RPM fuel consumption worse by about 5mpg engine temp up by about 6 degrees (coolant temp fine) Any ideas?

I think I might do mine black for that reason as I dont have brembos, so can;t really do red and the main reason to paint them is they are noticably sh!tey brown looking :pukeright:

I second that motion! Daves replica part was easy to fit and much better quality than the crap that VW put in there. But it is a good excuse for the passat handle mod - looks v.tidy

Yeah i think Henny is right, we went through this when mine blew up (made it almost all the way to London :lol:). car got clammy and then I put the fans on to clear it - mistake!! The recall was to prevent boiling water/coolant spraying into the car not steam. You can bypass the heater matrix in the water circuit in the interim, but I would strongly urge a quick check of the system for blocks/duff stat as they rarely explode on their own. Just my experience. as for replacing it, piece of p!ss if you;ve got a weekend spare :lol:

Got my rack done for not very much at all. IIRC about £90 for recon rack and two hours labour (£25 p/h).
